3 Scope: This manual is valid for the RMS Monitoring Software from Version The low-order digit of the software version stands for minor changes, e.g. correction of errors, that do not influence the main functionality of the software. This instruction manual describes the operation of the implemented and running system. Installation of the software and database and implementation of the monitoring system are described in the manuals E-IM-RMS-WEB and E-SM-RMS-WEB. 1 Overview The RMS software is server software that can be accessed from anywhere with internet access as long as firewalls or other security systems do not prevent this. The system is accessed by web browser via a PC, tablet or smartphone. 1.1 System Requirements The server environment must fulfil the following requirements for the server software and database to run Browser The RMS supports the following web browsers: Microsoft Internet-Explorer, Version 11 or later Mozilla Firefox, Version 40 or later Google Chrome, Version 43 or later 2016 ROTRONIC AG Bassersdorf Switzerland Page 3 of 25

4 2 System Login Enter the URL of your RMS server in order to log into the system. Figure 1: RMS start page Enter your user data and password in the login window. Figure 2: RMS login window /RMS is to be substituted by the number of your server and web service 2016 ROTRONIC AG Bassersdorf Switzerland Page 4 of 25

5 3 Data Views The RMS offers five different views to present the current system data: Chart Measured values graphically & numerically displayed Table Measured values numerically displayed Layout Measured values numerically displayed with placement in a room layout Dashboard Individual dashboard for each specific user Events Alarms, warnings, system messages The structure of the system groups is shown on the left side of every view (except Dashboard and Events). The currently selected group is shown in the respective display. 3.1 Alarm Symbols All views show alarm and information symbols with the following meanings: Information symbol Alarm Type Message Reminder Warning Alarm Error Audit trail information2 Events that are not urgent: Low battery (device) Simulator connected (measuring point) Reminder that a calibration is due Data gap after downloading missing measured values Measured value above limit (measuring point) Measured value above limit (measuring point) Urgent hardware errors: Device timeout Sensor error (measuring point) Circle of any colour (Yellow, Orange, Red, Blue) Disabled Inhibited Inhibited Inhibited Inhibited Measuring point or device disabled (under setup) Alarm is inhibited and thus suppressed. The alarm function will be resumed when the inhibition is no longer enabled. Even if the alarm is over, the inhibition will remain for the defined time. Measured value alarm is inhibited (green circle). Technical alarm is inhibited (black circle). Measured value and technical alarms are inhibited (green and black circle). 2 Messages are only available in the system if the function Audit Trail has been enabled by the licence key ROTRONIC AG Bassersdorf Switzerland Page 5 of 25

6 The number of active alarms can be seen at any time in the top status line: Figure 3: Current system alarms in the status line As well the status of each device can be seen directly under: The chart view, under groups and measuring points. If there is an alarm in a group, the group will show the highest alarm symbol. The measuring point will show its alarm. The table view, under groups and measuring points. If there is an alarm in a group, the group will show the highest alarm symbol. The measuring point will show its alarm. The layout, under groups and measuring points. If there is an alarm in a group, the group will show the highest alarm symbol. The measuring point will show its alarm. The events, you can select what alarms you wish to see (current and in the past). The archive, you can see the events of an archived measuring point, thus the past alarms Inhibit Alarms Every active alarm can be inhibited (held back) for a selectable time span by clicking the round information symbol. This function is available in all views. No alarm is emitted in this time. The alarm function is resumed as soon as the inhibit ends and the alarm is still active. Special cases: If an alarm ends during the inhibition, the inhibition remains for the set time. A measuring point can also be inhibited even if it is not in the alarm. This can be useful, for example, when carrying out a calibration and an alarm is not to be triggered during the process Inhibit Groups It is possible to inhibit multiple measurements, under the table view, by selecting a number of measurement points (either with SHIFT or CTRL) and clicking on Options>Inhibit. Figure 4: Inhibit various measurement points under table view. Via this inhibition, it is possible to inhibit either the measured value alarms or the technical alarms. This function can be used when service/calibration is being carried out on the devices/measurement points ROTRONIC AG Bassersdorf Switzerland Page 6 of 25
