2 Administration. Authentication User authentication can be performed by means of Active Directory, LDAP or a custom single sign-on provider. The configuration of diverse authentication providers for a single installation is possible. Authorization The user authorization is implemented as Security Templates with role based function sets referenced on categories. The function sets are linked to user groups which can be configured in the external authentication provider or in Sharedien specific user groups. Application administrators can apply Security Template to categories in the standard Sharedien user interface. Administrative Scope The scope of administrative rights can be restricted to defined areas in the system using a Security Context. With this feature administrative rights can be scoped for different divisions, countries or other organizational units. Meta Data Model The meta model can be fully customized. Assets and categories can have meta data which also support inheritance to provide for context sensitive information across inherited categories. Full Text Search Customers can define attributes of the meta model to be included in the search process. Meta data as well as document contents (Office documents, PDF, text files, etc.) can be indexed for searching. 3rd Party indexing filters can be installed in order to allow for indexing of custom document formats. Media Object Derivation Custom image resolutions and formats can be configured for the system to generate alternative formats. This derivations can be defined to be performed during upload or dynamically while downloading. 3rd Party Derivation Engines Sharedien supports the integration of 3rd party derivation engines (e.g. Adobe Indesign, Photoshop) for static or load balanced custom format conversions. Statistics Diverse statistics on system usage can be configured, so that users can receive them automatically on a regular schedule. Notifications Notifications on system events (uploads in pre-defined categories, downloads, deletions, etc.) can be configured, so that selected users are notified about such activities. Replication Using modern database features assets and metadata can be replicated to distributed storage locations (transactional or snapshot replication). Failover Cluster The Sharedien database is SQL Server which supports AlwaysOn Failover Clusters. Job scheduling and execution Scheduled jobs can be executed automatically based on a predefined schedules using the Sharedien Jobrunner. Load Balancing Using distributed web servers, workloads can be balanced between geographical locations.

3 System Platform Sharedien runs on Windows Server in an.net Framework environment using Microsoft Sql Server as database server.. Disk Partitioning Assets are stored in a Sql Server File stream which can be distributed on diverse disks in order to optimize performance. Custom partitioning functions allow to place assets based on attributes on disks with diverse performance capabilities. Web based user interface All Sharedien functions are focused in a modern (Html 5, JavaScript) web based user interface. The application can be executed on any modern desktop or mobile browser. Usability. Speed Through the use of modern indexing and caching technologies Sharedien maintains unparalleled performance across almost limitless workloads. Intuitive User Interface The user interface is so intuitive that a typical user training isn t required (train the processes by using the tool in stead of training the tool). Multilanguage The user interface, meta model and application data can be configured in as many languages and countries as needed. Built-in Translation workbench Translation of Metadata can be performed directly in the regular user interface or imported from text, Excel, xml files or TMS custom system interfaces.. Character sets Unicode (multi byte characters) is used across the system to support for any known language, alphabet or character set. Drag & Drop Drag & Drop is supported extensively in the web browser interface to allow for assets and categories to be moved and/or copied. Edit Metadata In the grid view multiple meta data fields can be edited and updated Single and Multivalued selectable Values In addition to freely editable attributes, lists of values can be configured for each attribute (single or multi selectable). Value Format Expressions For each meta data attribute customers can define custom expressions to validate the content during editing. Selection/Filter Assets can be shared to My Selection. External/internal Users can see/download those assets. It s possible to limit time period to see/download assets. Search Powerful search function (asset or category metadata as well as document contents) Phonetic Search Even misspelled terms are found through our phonetic search. Corporate Identity The user interface can adapt to customers corporate identity through the use of themes and custom user interface images and texts. Customizing capabilities. Multi-tenant/Multi-client architecture The Authorization can be configured on each category node using application user groups or active directory or other LDAP Groups. The groups can belong to different tenants and so provide multi-tenant division of assets. Metadata-models can also be configured on node level to fulfil the needs of diverse tenants. Multiple webservers can be deployed on different geographical location. Individual user interface themes can also be configured on category level. Language settings are managed by each user individually. Providing customizing features The system can be extensively configured using parameter tables. The metadata-model is 100% customizable without requiring coding. Administrators can define events on which custom event handlers are executed, thus allowing for workflows and custom business rules. Personalization features The entire user interface is based on Html 5 and css stylesheets, so that it can be fully customized for each customer or even category node. Custom Reports can be implemented with the Report Builder. User Defined Result Views Each user can configure which data should be displayed in the search results. Custom development The systems most important application components are implemented with a plug-in architecture, so that custom plug-ins can be developed for each customer without touching the standard application code. Custom events also allow for execution of customer code (custom.dll). Custom plug-ins and event handlers as well as extensive web service-based interfaces allow for integration in existing processes. Add-On solutions Add on solution can be build using the existing web service interfaces which provide for all important user interface functionality. Custom overlays Custom overlays can be set to overlay images depending on meta data values such as expiration date and others.

Upload Manager The upload can be paused and resumed from a previous session at a later date at the defined point of recovery. Mass Uploader Assets with meta data can be uploaded in batch mode in predefined categories. Derivate All internationally standardized image formats can be generated at runtime (during upload or on demand during download). Quality Sets Define the required quality of assets (resolutions, size, format, etc.) to be stored in predefined categories.

Smart Filename Generation Sharedien can be configured to generate smart filenames from the managed meta data, so that customer can incorporate custom intelligence for interfaces in the names of exported files. Data Driven Export Interfaces Data exported through configured interfaces can be driven by meta data values and mandatory attribute values. Approval Process Export interfaces can be customized with customer specific approval workflows. Features. Cropping of images Images can be cropped freely or in predefined aspect ratio and saved as new derivates. Linked Assets Assets can be linked with other assets using standard or custom link types. Versioning Assets can be versioned in order to support content changes assets. Context Data model Context Classes with Properties, Inheritance of Properties (Category/Assets) can be defined in order to support context sensitive attributes. Images, audios and videos are supported with additional format dependent features such as preview, streaming, derivation and metadata extraction. All unknown file types can be managed using standard functions.

7 Meta Data Extraction Sharedien extracts metadata from assets and stores it in its model, supported standards are EXIF, IPTC and System Information. Duplicate detection Sharedien automatically detects duplicates, even if they have a different filename, comparing the assets binary image during the import process. My Downloads Downloads are managed in a personal shopping cart which can be configured before the actual download is started. My Selections User defined asset catalogs for personal asset categorization My Searches User defined stored search expressions for dynamic asset categorization My Invitation Invite other users or external business partners to private selections and share comments on contents (chat functionality).
