2 Legacy Files vs. IV Files When you first transition to IV, you may choose to receive data from the legacy systems and IV in parallel. The legacy PKG files from IMb Tracing and Mail.XML messages from PostalOne! are almost indistinguishable from the same file formats in IV. To help distinguish legacy files from IV files, you may want to receive legacy and IV files separately. There are a few options: Use a separate server or web service to receive your IV files Use a separate location on your server or web service to receive your IV files Use Online Download to download your files from the IV web application (instead of having them sent to your server or web service) 2

3 User Actions This table describes the necessary actions for each option. This document provides instructions for the actions that are necessary AFTER* having access to the IV application. 5 Use a Separate Server or Web Service Once you have access to the IV application, add the server or web service to your IV address book. Then, update your IV data feeds to send data to the desired server or web service. Add the server or web service to your IV address book: 1. Within IV, click Address Book in the top navigation bar. 2. Click the Server tab. 3. Complete the Add New Server section on the left side of the page. 4. When you are finished, click Add to Address Book. Continue to slide 7 for instructions to update your data feeds. See the next slide for screenshots. 5

7 Use a Separate Server or Web Service Update your IV data feeds to send data to the desired server or web service: 1. Click Queries & Feeds in the top navigation bar. 2. Click the Create & Manage Data Feeds tab. 3. Click Modify in the Details column for a data feed. 4. In the Details window, click the Define Target drop-down menu to select the new server or web service and deselect other servers or web services, as needed. 5. Scroll to the bottom of the window, and click Update Feed. 6. Repeat these steps for all data feeds, as needed. See the next slide for screenshots. 7

10 Use a Separate Location Once you have access to the IV application, modify the server or web service in your IV address book to send data to the desired directory or location: 1. Within IV, click Address Book in the top navigation bar. 2. Click the Server tab. 3. In the Your Servers section, click Edit for the appropriate server or web service. 4. For a server, update the Host Target Directory* field. For a web service, update the Web Service URL field. 5. When finished, click Save. IV data feeds using the server or web service are automatically updated to send data to the specified directory or location. * If you add a leading slash [ / ] to the Host Target Directory (e.g., /directory/), the directory is relative to the system home directory. Without the leading slash (e.g., directory/), the directory is relative to the logged-in user s home directory. See the next two slides for screenshots. 10

14 Use Online Download Once you have access to the IV application, modify your IV data feeds to use the Online Download option. With this option, you will download your files from the IV web application instead of having them sent to your server or web service: 1. Within IV, click Queries & Feeds in the top navigation bar. 2. Click the Create & Manage Data Feeds tab. 3. Click Modify in the Details column for a data feed. 4. In the Details window, click the Define Target drop-down menu and deselect ALL servers and web services. 5. To the right of the Define Target menu, click Online download. 6. Scroll to the bottom of the window, and click Update Feed. 7. Repeat these steps for all data feeds, as needed. Continue to slide 16 for instructions to retrieve your IV files. 16 Use Online Download Retrieve your IV files from the data feed Output History: 1. Within IV, click Queries & Feeds in the top navigation bar. 2. Click the Create & Manage Data Feeds tab. 3. Click View in the Output History column for a data feed. 4. The Output History window opens and displays the files sent for that data feed. 5. To download a file, click Download. IMPORTANT: Data feed files are available in the Output History for 7 days. See the next slide for screenshots. 16
