5 Introduction This document provides a procedural comparison between PI/Dwights PLUS Data on CD and the IHS Enerdeq Browser application. While PI/Dwights PLUS Data on CD was an effective application that provided a means to search for data and create output files, increasing customer needs and newer technologies have led to a more efficient and robust application known as the Enerdeq Browser. This reference will compare how available data is accessed within each application; how data is queried; how the queried data is displayed and how output files are generated and saved. In addition, we will compare the various functions that could be performed using the map as well as review the various functions and features that are exclusive to each application. October,

6 Accessing Data Transition from PI/Dwights PLUS Data on CD Accessing Data PI/Dwights PLUS Data on CD PI/Dwights PLUS Data on CD was available on a regional subscription basis. Generally, each of the U.S. Data regions was provided on individual CD/DVD ROM disks. Separate CDs/DVDs were required for Well Data and Production Data. Data from the CD could be installed onto a local network or the data could be accessed directly from the CD for a single user. Licensing The Stand Alone license was available to a single user at a time; A Network License was available for up to 5 users at a time. A Corporate License had no limit on the number of users. Data Entitlements Well Data entitlements could be licensed to the county level. Production Data could be licensed to the sub-region level. Data Currency - The information contained on a PI/Dwights PLUS CD was current to the last published revision date of the CD. For a network license, CDs were sent to a subscriber on a regular frequency. As a result, the data currency for a user depended not only on the last published revision date of a CD but how frequently the data revisions were loaded onto the network. 2 October, 2013

7 Transition from PI/Dwights PLUS Data on CD Accessing Data Enerdeq Browser Data Enerdeq Browser is an online application that requires no CD installations. There are no CDs to keep track of and no guessing as to which region or data type you are working in. Enerdeq can be accessed via the internet utilizing browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. The information in the Enerdeq database is continually updated. As a result, Enerdeq provides access to the most complete and up-to-date E&P information that is available. The information that you are entitled to access and use in Enerdeq is based on your subscription. To view your entitlements, click the My Entitlements link at the top of an Enerdeq page. A My Data Entitlements page will open and display a list of available data types. The data that you or your company has subscribed to and is entitled to access and use is identified with a green check mark symbol.. October,

8 Launching an Application Transition from PI/Dwights PLUS Data on CD Launching an Application This section will show you how to access and launch PI/Dwights PLUS Data on CD (single user) and then we will review how to access and launch IHS Enerdeq. Launching PI/Dwights PLUS Data on CD Initially, PI/Dwights PLUS Data on CD had to be installed on an individual user s computer or a company s server, utilizing installation CD s. When working directly with the data CDs, an appropriate regional data CD, pertinent to an area of interest, had to be loaded into the CD Rom drive for each new session. For example, if a user s area of interest was Oklahoma, a Well Data or a Production Data CD from the Southern Mid-Continent Region had to be loaded into the CD tray. After loading the appropriate CD, the application could be launched by double-clicking the PI/Dwights PLUS on CD icon on the desktop screen. An Open Region window would display. Data Type options displayed next to each Data Region in this window. 4 October, 2013
