18 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1 Purpose This document ensures the proper functionality of the SEWD project. These tests relate directly to all of SEWD s requirements, including utility, performances, interfaces, attributes, and constraints of the system. SEWD is designed to allow novice web users the ability to create robust websites with little to no prior knowledge of web development. The application primarily consists of a graphical user interface which allows users to customize a website as they see fit. Media provided by the user is stored within a database, and website code is generated based upon their specifications. 1.2 Structure of the Document Section 2 - Describes the overall approach to the Acceptance Test Plan process Section 3 - Describes in more detail individual issues covered or not covered by the Acceptance Test Plan process Section 4 - Describes the criteria which have to be satisfied for the Acceptance Test Plan project Section 5 - Describes the roles and responsibilities of the staff members involved in the Acceptance Test Plan Section 6 - Describes the test cases used during the Acceptance Test Plan. 1.3 References SEWD Software Requirements Document Acceptance Test of SEWD project 2 Test Approach 2.1 Introduction This section describes the overall approach, testing techniques, and tools used during the Acceptance Test Plan of SEWD. 2.2 Test Objectives The Acceptance Test Plan process will prompt the client to evaluate the SEWD application and verify whether it performs in accordance with the client's requirements, listed in the Software Requirements Document.

19 2.3 Structure The Acceptance Test Plan will consist of a subset of test cases and methods ranging from account creation to page deployment. The test cases will be carefully selected and agreed upon by both the developer and the client, and will allow for the most adequate verification of the functional requirements, as listed in the Software Requirements Document. This allows us to test the extensiveness of SEWD without doing a full-scale system test. 3. Test Assumptions and Exclusions 3.1 Introduction This section provides greater detail what issues and features are covered by the SEWD Acceptance Test process, and which are not covered. 3.2 Assumptions The Acceptance Test will cover: The functional requirements of the system listed in the Software Requirements Document. Usability of the system Consistency of the user related system documentation 3.3 Exclusions The Acceptance Test will not cover: The non-functional requirements of the system listed in the Software Requirements Document. Source code. 4. Testing Participants 4.1 Introduction This section describes the roles and responsibilities of the members involved in the Acceptance Test Plan, as well as the procedure of reporting the test results and any issues that come about in the testing phase.

20 4.2 Roles and Responsibilities For the Acceptance Test Plan, the following roles were assumed by the following: Team Leader: John Martino Client's Representative: A person in charge from the client's side who will overview the testing process. Tester: A person who will execute the use case tests. 4.3 Team Experience The parties involved in the testing phase especially the developers should be familiar with the SEWD system in its entirety. They should know how to navigate the user interface, the functionality, and the requirements provided in the software requirements document. 4.4 Problem Reporting All parties involved in the test phase must report any problem they encounter to the team leader. The problem should be given proper documentation so that it is understood by everyone. The problem will be addressed and if it s a serious issue a meeting will be given on how to resolve that issue. 4.5 Test Report The Acceptance Test Plan Report should be compiled after the testing process if finished and submitted to the project leader. 5. Testing Project Cases 5.1 Test Descriptions The test cases are distributed in sections covering functionality elements and use cases in the Software Requirements Specification.
