A STEP-BY-STEP A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE GUIDE TO TO UPDATING ADDING PAGES NAVIGATION ACADEMY Adding Pages Adding pages to your website is simple and powerful! In just a few minutes you can create a page that: Highlights a special event Collects entries on a registration form for a promotional contest Features a product or service in more detail than what a standard list item detail page provides.
ACADEMY A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO ADDING PAGES This screen shot illustrates some of the various types of content... Internet Browser Window Search Engine Title Filename Search Engine Title Page Title Headline Image Page Title Text Blocks
A STEP-BY-STEP A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE GUIDE TO TO UPDATING ADDING PAGES NAVIGATION ACADEMY 1. Add a Testimonials Page. 1a. Log into your Springboard and click My Website, then Website Content. Hint: Click the link in the top left corner to preview your website. Springboard: Website Content 1b. Click Add Page. Springboard: Adding a Page You can add a new page to the website inside an existing section, or outside of a section.
ACADEMY A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO ADDING PAGES 2. Complete the page information. 2a. Type the Page Title. Page Title is required and displays on the website page above the content area. Page Title will also be used as the menu link if you include it in the site navigation. 2b. Type the Filename. The Filename is required and creates the url for users to access the page. Filenames can contain letters and numbers. We recommend keeping the length to under characters. Hint: Filenames should contain keywords and if a phrase is used, be sure to use a hyphen (-) between words. Try to make them succinct. Springboard: Updating page information
A STEP-BY-STEP A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE GUIDE TO TO UPDATING ADDING PAGES NAVIGATION ACADEMY 2c. Verify the Page Location. The Page Location select menu is set to the section you are currently in. Update it to move the page to another section. For this example, put the page inside the Company Information Section. Springboard: Updating page information Hint: Page Location: Site Root means the page is at the top level of the site, not inside of a section. Examples of this are the home page and the default location of the Contact Us page. 2d. Choose Design Layout. Select Internal page layout or leave set to Default Layout (which is the Internal Page Layout). Springboard: Updating page information Hint: By default you have two design layouts available, the Internal Page Layout and Primary Home Page Layout. If the pages of the new section will require a different design layout, for instance, you want multiple columns of text, or something else you can t do with your current page layout, contact your account manager to discuss what you d like. We can create a custom page layout for you to use.
ACADEMY A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO ADDING PAGES 2e. Choose Content Template or leave this set to the default, which is None (Custom Page). Springboard: Updating page information Hint: Hide a section by selecting No to Display in site navigation? When you do this, the section remains in your Springboard but doesn t appear in your website navigation. Add it back to the navigation menu later by selecting Yes. Hint: SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer. It enables you to make a page secure by encrypting the information on it so only certain verified entities can decode and understand it.
A STEP-BY-STEP A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE GUIDE TO TO UPDATING ADDING PAGES NAVIGATION ACADEMY 3. Optional: Enter Search Engine Information. Search Engine Title: Displays at the top of the browser window, and in the tabs in tabbed browsing. This field is optional, and if nothing is entered, the Page Title will be used. The Search Engine Title is the most important thing you can do to help your chances of being found on search engines. Use a maximum of 66 characters (including spaces) and make sure each page on your website has a unique Search Engine Title. Search Engine Keywords: There s no need to fill this field, but if you do, add the basic keywords that people would use to search for your business. Add the most important keywords first, but use no more than per page. Search Engine Description: This is the short summary that shows up in the search engine results Keep it to just one or two sentences. Search Engine Description is similar to a line of ad copy which tells a customer/ prospect how your website page is going to help them find the information they re looking for. Springboard: Updating page information Site Map Priority can be left to Normal (Default) Click Save & Finish. Springboard: Saving the new page
ACADEMY A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO ADDING PAGES 4. Add Content to Your New Page. Your new page has been added to the bottom of the Site Structure list in the section in which you added it. There are three ways to get to this new page and add content to it. Click the page index combobox that says Site Root by default and start typing the name of your new page. Click and pull down the page index combobox that says Site Root. Click on the page in the list. Scroll to the page and click the page title or click the gear icon for the page and click Manage Content. Springboard: Sections and Pages 4a. Click Add Content. Springboard: Clicking Add Content

Springboard: Adding content types Hint: Location: The default setting is Primary Content, which is the main area of your website pages where content is displayed. Depending on your website s design and the page you re editing, you may see other choices on this list. Use the Do NOT Display option to add content that you want to get ready for the page, but don t want to display for a time. Springboard: Saving new content types 4c. Click Save & Close.
