1 Create Your Own Bookr Bookr is an on-line tool to create electronic books with a combination of pictures and texts. This is an easy tool to utilize without too many complicated features so I think it is a perfect tool for teachers who are not good at using computers; on the other hand, students can pick it up very fast without the need for teachers to spend too much time re-explaining the use of the tool. 1. First open a web browser and search for "Bookr". 2. Click on the first link and it will lead you to bookr/

2 3. Once you get to the main page, you can click on the text to change the author and title of the book. 4. To search for pictures, type in keywords in the Tag box, and click on "go!".

3 5. The pictures will appear on the bottom of the page, next to the search box. 6. When you find the picture you want, click on the picture, or drag it into the book page.

4 7. Click on the bottom left of the book flip the page. 8. Use the Tag box to search for photos. Click on the photo for it to appear on the book page.

5 9. Click on the text box to type in new sentences. 10. Click on the "+" sign to add more pages.

6 11. When you are finished with your book. Click on "Publish the book!" 12. Here you can send the link by typing in s.

7 13. If you want to embed the bookr on your blog, click on "Blog this". 14. There are two options you can choose from. First option is to publish your bookr on your blog by copying the html code and paste it in your blog.

8 15. Option two is to publish the link only. Copy the following html code and post it in your blog. Bookr Review- When I first saw this tool, I thought it was the perfect tool to apply in a language classroom. This is an easy and simple tool, but also has the affordances that can assist and motivate students in practicing and using the language. This is a tool that can be used in any levels of language proficiency for creating projects for summarize assessments. Because it is easy to learn, it is also suitable for students of any age level. However, there are also some shortage to the tool. First of all, we can only choose pictures by typing keywords in the tag column, and the pictures provided are limited. There might be ways to create a Flickr account, upload pictures and then use the user column to search for it, but it is a very complicated progress,which may not be a efficient method for students or teachers to teach or learn in a language classroom. If the tool provides an photo upload function, it would be much more convenient. Another function I think would be nice is the ability to change the color, size of the text, and the font. It would add more characteristic to each student's e-book. Another important aspect is the ability to export the completed project into a PDF file. Although, it has the function to links or embed it into a blog, but being able to download and export it is certainly very important. Last of all, when creating Bookr,

9 we don't need to create an account for it, which convenient, but also means that we can't save the project and go back again to edit it. If the computer shuts down, or the web page is accidentally closed, we'll have to start over again. Although there are some flaws, I still think it is a great too to bring into classrooms, mainly because it's easiness compared to other technology with the same effects. Teaching Implications: After each lesson, the teacher can use Bookr as a summarize assessment tool and have them create a E-book related to the lesson and based on their interest. For example, if the lesson was about Animals, students can create an Animal book with the animals they like, and students can get creative with what animals they would want to put in their book. After completing the E-book, have students present their E- book to the class. This way, students can practice their writing or spelling, and also speaking skills. Depending on the different English levels, teachers can decide how much they expect the students to write on each page, whether it is a word, a sentence or a paragraph with the focus of different grammar points.
