3 Process Define Discover Design Determine Deliver Collect data to define the real problem. Find the stakeholders and users end goals. 4 Research Company was creating new software to be used in classrooms. They wanted to know who was going to use it and how the technology would be integrated. 4

5 Process Deliverables Team Aggregated available data (from multiple secondary research studies using quantitative data) on how teachers felt and acted towards technology. I separated them by technology comfort levels (more likely to adopt or reject software), how it would be integrated into the classroom (accessible technology), and grade level taught (developmental ability/ needs). User Personas User Flow Use Cases Low-fidelity Sketches My Role: Research assistant. Stakeholders: Product managers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Creative Director: Approved each step. Due to proprietary information, this is a recreation with data scrubbed. 5

6 UX/Ix Design Banking customers needed to opt in or out of overdraft coverages. Content had to include banking regulation verbiage and consistent messaging with other marketing materials. 6

7 Process First, I created a customer journey to understand how they would interact with all the content (print and digital). Then received regulations we had to follow from legal, and current complaints from Customer Advocacy. Deliverables Customer Journey High fidelity, annotated wireframes for A/B Testing Tasks and questions for usability testing. Team My Role: UX/Ix Designer. Stakeholders: Product owners, legal, marketing, customer advocacy, and department heads. I created a consistent voice, tone, by using similar verbiage from our marketing, but chunked the information in related contextual elements (drop downs and links for additional information points). Supervisors: UX Director, Legal, Marketing Due to proprietary information, some details are redacted. During usability testing, two designs were tested. This design was chosen. Before: 7

8 Strategy and Design New users were being introduced through a merger. Stakeholders were not sure where to place new users (different possible platforms), then needed to know how to integrate them onto the platform. 8

9 Process I created a visual competitive analysis to compare and contrast what features the user would be coming from and compared them to the different platforms. Then created a customer journey for two possible flows, discussing communication and page touch points. Stakeholders: Business and product owners, developers, and bankers. Supervisor: UX Director. Once a decision was made, I created wireframes and worked with UI designer and developers to completion. 10 Strategy and Design Potential client had two websites and a company website. They were introducing a new product and wanted to create an additional website for it. They also wanted to increase their SEO, social media presence, and cross-selling capabilities. 10

11 Process Digital Research I did a competitive analysis to assess their value proposition and SEO. Since their own sites were competing with each other, I suggested creating one website for all products for best SEO practices. After a content audit, I deleted duplicate content and aggregated similar content by industry for the best cross-selling opportunities. Deliverables Competitive Analysis SEO Analytics User Persona Site Map Low-fidelity Wireframes Social Media Outline Team My Role: Information Architect Content Strategist End result was reducing three (potentially four) websites with 242 pages to one website with 51 pages. Content Strategy After doing an assessment of their social media, I suggested eliminating individual sales associate accounts to have one You Tube Channel per product. The twitter accounts for the three products would combine to one, as they all worked together to provide support for the clients services - and they did not have a social media manager to create a consistent experience for all accounts. Due to proprietary information, some details are redacted. 11

12 Experience Design New UX team was struggling to figure out how they fit within the current project process that was in place. Other stakeholders did not understand what the UX team did or when to interact with team members. 12

13 Process Interviewed business leads, project managers, and IT developers to understand how they see/what they needed from the UX team. Then I created an infographic ecosystem map to show how the UX team works, who does what on the team, and how we fit into the process.
