Upon entry, the page will provide a prompt for downloading Flash player, in the event the user has no player or is in need of an update for a current player. The page consists of graphics, and the buttons "Skip Intro" and "Enter Site." Treatment: Upon entering the site, a button in black font that says "Skip Intro" will be centered at the bottom of the screen on a yellow background, which links the user to the Main Munu Screen. An animation of the image

4 of the keys of a piano will fade onto the center of the screen, along with the site's name "How to Play the Major Scales on the Piano" centered above the piano image in black font. The image and the text will come into complete focus onto the screen after approximately 5 seconds. The image of the piano and text will have corresponding audio that accompanies the animation, which is an audio music of the C major scale being played on the piano. Once the animation is complete, a button in bold red text that says "Enter Site" will appear centered beneath the piano keyboard image, but above the "Skip Intro" button. Storyboard: Paste image here Media Elements: Buttons: Centered at the very bottom of the screen will be a "Skip Intro" button that is present on the screen upon the user's entry of the site. Once the animation of the image and text of the splash screen is complete and in focus, a button to "Enter Site" in bold red text will appear beneath the image of the piano keys, which will take the user to the main menu of the site when the cursor clicks on it. Graphics: The piano keyboard is an image that was imported into Flash for the animation for the splash Text: The Times New Roman Font will be used for the text. The "Enter Site" button takes the user to the main menu, and is 16 pt. Times New Roman Bold, bitmapped, red (#FF0000). The "Skip Intro" button takes the user to the main menu, and is 16 pt. Times New Roman Bold, bitmapped, black (#000000). The Site Title "How to Play the Major Scales on the Piano" is in 30 pt. Times New Roman Bold, ulc, bitmapped, (#000000), and will be imported into Flash for the animation for the splash Treatment #2 Main Menu Introduction: The Main Menu will retain the main menu for the entire site, which consists of 12 buttons that link to the individual submenu, related graphics, and related text to submenu content and the site title. Treatment: The screen background is the same yellow color from the splash Centered on the main menu is the image of a piece of sheet music with the heading "Major Scales." The sheet music will display twelve individual notes, which are buttons that link to the note's main content section of the scale that it represents. Beneath each note will be text that references these content sections. To the left of this sheet music image, the title of the site, "How to Play the Major Scales on the Piano," is present in bold black Times New Roman font. Storyboard: Paste image here Media Elements: Buttons: The buttons for the main menu will look like notes on the sheet music image, with the name of the scale it represents emerging in bold red text on rollover. Graphics: There will be an image of sheet music centered on the main menu The title "Major Scales" will be the heading for the sheet music, representative of the title of the sheet music for music notation, which relates to the site content and the submenu buttons below. The title of the site to the left of the image will be in bold 50 pt. "Time New Roman" font (#00000). Text: The font used will be Times New Roman, set in black for readability against the contrast of the yellow background, with bold red text (also used for contrast) for the rollover of the submenu button links. Treatment #3 Sub Menu Introduction: The Submenu screen will include the title of the section, main navigation links, an introductory copy of the section, and links to the information pages of the submenu. Treatment: The Submenu consists of a dual-colored background. There will be a narrow red column to the left and a large yellow column to the right of this. The narrow red column will consist of the main navigation links, which will take the user back to the main menu or any other submenu page. The title for the content of that particular submenu will be centered at the top of the yellow column in bold, 50 pt. font. Beneath the title

5 will be an introductory text of the submenu centered in a justified position. At the bottom of the yellow column, centered beneath the introductory text, will be links to the information pages of the submenu, buttons titled "Fingering," "The Notes," and "Listen," which will link the user to the specified content page the user chooses. 13 User Input Cursor - Standard arrow in all cases Learning 5 Reflection (1-3 paragraphs) What did you learn and how did you learn it? What do you need to know more about? The examples in the learning modules of the course content really helped me with this assignment because it was a great supplement to the information in the text and lecture notes, since it gave me a clear idea of what was expected for each element of the assignment. This assignment was really great in bringing together all of the information previously done, and refining it for the overall final project. It allowed for me to see a fully developed representation of my site through various aspects of its breakdown, such as the storyboard, the flowchart, content outline, etc. and allowed for me to manage my site's development in an organized fashion, though I found it tedious at times to be so meticulous with everything. My only frustration currently is that my template image rendering is not exactly as refined as I would like it to be. That is partly because of my lack of necessary programs to produce the design that I have described in my treatments and storyboard. I do not have Microsoft Office, Paint, Photoshop, or any program, and I explained this difficulty in my previous assignment as well when my Main Menu Template turned out less than ideal. Also, I am still confused as to the breakdown of my grade from the previous assignment and how my grade was computed, so it was extremely unclear to me as to what exactly I needed to work on to improve my storyboards and other elements. Overall, I feel this assignment really made me have to utilize all my available resources to come up with a finished product. I had to reference old work of mine and what revisions had to be done to produce the image I currently desired, and I referenced several different resources, such as the learning modules, my textbook, and examples so that I got a full understanding of all that might possibly be expected of me. In addition, I used my fellow classmates as resources as well, and referenced their approaches in how they completed the assignment to make sure I was on track.
