ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS YOU MAY REFER TO ANY HARDPRINTED RESOURCES (10 PAGES) BUT YOU ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED TO USE ANY SOFTCOPY RESOURCES UNLESS OTHERWISE PROVIDED. ANY FORM OF CHEATING WILL BE ENDED WITH A ZERO MARK FOR BOTH PARTIES. 2 Preparing The Skeleton Files Before you start writing your program, prepare the skeleton files by following these steps: Download the test1_skeleton_files.rar file from The file is in winrar format with a password. The password will be given by the lecturer. If your PC does not support this file, please download WinRAR from ftp.fsksm.utm.my Create a new folder on your desktop and Name the file with your full name (eg. Muhamad_Ali_Bin_Bakar) Extract the file into that folder. Do not edit the files directly from the WinRAR. You must extract it first. Submitting The Answers At the end of the test session, submit your answers by following these steps: WinRAR all your files Question1.html, Question2.html and Question3.html into a single WinRAR file. Name the file with your full name (eg. Muhamad_Ali_Bin_Bakar.rar). Login to the elearning website ( and choose your section 05 of this subject. Upload your WinRAR file as follows: Go to Week 9 and click the hyperlink of SUBMISSION OF TEST1. Notes: The hyperlinks for the submissions are closed during the test session and will be opened 15 minutes before the end of the session. If you want to submit 1 hour earlier, please ask the lecturer. 2

3 Question 1 (30 Points) You are advised to spend 45 minutes for completing this question. Open the Question1.html file using Textpad or Notepad and write your particulars in that file at the specified area. Based on the spesifications below, edit the file to produce a web page as shown in Figure 1. You may also see the output in the Question1_Output.gif file. a. Page Properties i. Page title= THE EYE OFFICIAL WEBSITE ii. Default font= Verdana, size: 12 pixels and color: #FFFFFF iii. Background= color: # b. Table Properties i. Width = 700 pixels ii. Has no border iii. Alignment = center iv. Background= black in color c. Links Properties i. Default font = Verdana, size: 12 pixels, color: #FF9900 and have no underline ii. Visited links= white in color and have no underline iii. On mouse hover, set the font color to #0033FF and the hyperlink has underline. d. Others Properties i. Refer to the specifications as noted in Figure 1 to setup others web page properties. 3

5 Question 2 (20 Points) You are advised to spend 30 minutes for completing this question. Open the Question2.html file using Textpad or Notepad and write your particulars in that file at the specified area. Figure 2 shows a simple calculator application implemented using standard HTML tag and JavaScript. Users are asked to enter a number for operand 1, choose an operator either + (for addition) or * (for multiplication), enter another number for operand 2, and lastly click the = button to get the result. Figure 2 Complete the calculator form by editing the HTML codes in the Question2.html file. Then add JavaScript codes to do the calculation. Your program must use function that accepts three arguments which are the operand 1, operand 2 and the type of operator. Function without parameters will get lower points. 5

6 Question 3 (20 Points) You are advised to spend 45 minutes for completing this question. Open the Question3.html file using Textpad or Notepad and write your particulars in that file at the specified area. Then, complete that file according to the following questions a). Write JavaScript codes to create a class named Student, with two attributes- name and score, and a method getgrade(). Code the getgrade method to calculate grade based on the score as shown in the following table: score grade >= 85 A >= 70 B >= 50 C < 50 F b). Then, add codes to create an empty array and insert four Student objects into that array. Use the following data for each object. name score Ali 80 Bakar 50 Nor 90 Aminah 35 c). By using a loop statement, add codes to display the data and grade of all students in a table as shown in Figure 2 d).
