2 Hello, everyone My name is William. In this session, I will show you how to create a dependent menu with Moodle Database activity. 2
3 Sometimes, when you collect information with a Database form in Moodle, the 'Add entry' page shows many fields.! If this includes some non-compulsory fields, then you can use a dependent menu to reveal relevant fields only. 3
4 For example, to create a form listing all countries, you can use a menu field to list the continents first.! After the user chooses "Europe", the selection in Field 2 "Country" is reduced to the countries within Europe. 4
5 In Moodle2.9, a Database field can be made compulsory. However, if you are still using Moodle2.8 or lower version, a dependent menu can make some fields 'act' as compulsory fields. 5
6 In this session, I will create a Dependent menu with Moodle Database activity from scratch, then add JavaScript and CSS to the Add template. 6
7 Even if you ve never created a Database activity before, by the end of this session, you ll be a pro :). 7
