2 End User Requirements for Version End User Requirements The tables below are a guideline for end users. The ProgressBook Suite has been successfully tested using these product and version configurations. Other configurations may work without issue; however, these are the versions actively tested and supported. Operating System Browser Versions Adobe Reader Versions Apple Mac OS X Lion (v10.7.5) Safari or later Mac OS X Mountain Lion (v10.8.5) Safari or later Mac OS X Mavericks (v10.9.1) Safari or later Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 Windows 8 Internet Explorer 9 or 10 Firefox 32 or later Google Chrome 37 or later 11.0 or later Additional Configurations Supported by ParentAccess Operating System Browser Versions Adobe Reader Versions Apple ios 6 Safari 11.0 or later ios 7 Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 Windows 8 Internet Explorer or later Pop-up Blockers The SpecialServices application displays the PDF documents in a pop-up window. You must disable any pop-up blocker in order for the SpecialServices application to function properly. Pop-up blockers vary based on operating system, browser version, and third party tools such as the Google Toolbar, etc. Check your system settings, and be sure to enable pop-ups for the SpecialServices website.

Assignment Maintenance Screen Added An Assignment Maintenance screen is added so you can view a list of your assignments for a particular class/reporting period combination and perform basic maintenance from one screen. You can perform the following tasks on this screen: Filter the list of assignments by selecting the assignment type you want to view from the Assignment Type drop-down list. Display only deletable assignments by clicking the Show Deletable button. Note: Assignments that have Marks; are Shared, Excluded or Missing; or are linked to a VirtualClassroom (VC) activity are not deletable. Delete assignments by selecting the check box in the Delete column that corresponds to the assignment(s) you want to delete, then clicking Delete x Assignments. Change your selections for posting marks to the web and/or posting the assignment to the homework planner by selecting or deselecting the appropriate check box(es) in the Post Marks and Post Planner columns. Note: As soon as you select or deselect a check box in either of these columns, the assignment automatically saves, and a confirmation message displays. Return to the Class Dashboard by clicking the Dashboard link. View the Assignment Details screen by clicking the name of the assignment. Software Answers, Inc. 2 GB v Sep 2014

Discipline Security Message Added If the discipline feature is enabled for your school or district, but your user account does not have access to discipline based on StudentInformation security settings, when you click the Submit Discipline link or Discipline tab, a message now displays to inform you that you do not have access to start a discipline referral. 6 Resolved Issues The following issues are addressed in this release. Reference # Issue Description Discipline Access D9176 D9185 Previously, if GradeBook and StudentInformation were set up as websites for your district, when you clicked the Submit Discipline link, the loading icon persisted and you were unable to view the Discipline Referral screen. Now, under the same circumstances, you successfully access the Discipline Referral screen. Previously, the Submit Discipline link and Discipline tab did not display for some users who, based on their GradeBook roles, should be able to report discipline incidents. This issue affected users with multiple staff accounts when at least one account was manually created in GradeBook and one GradeBook account was integrated from StudentInformation. 7 v Release Notes ParentAccess v provides several new features and resolves some issues to improve your experience. This overview explains the recent changes. This document contains the following items: New Enhancements Related Documentation Resolved Issues New Enhancements Student ID No Longer Required Parents can now view all students linked to their accounts, even those without student ID numbers, because you are no longer required to assign student ID numbers to all students. Accounts Column Added to Registration Key Maintenance An Accounts column is now added to the Registration Key Maintenance screen to display the user name and account type of registered accounts that are linked to a student. Additionally, you can now generate new registration keys for students whose account(s) you deleted. (Previously, if accounts ever existed for a student, but you deleted them for any reason, you were unable to generate new keys to re-establish accounts by clicking the Generate Registration Keys button.) 8 Cancel Button Moved To clarify the users choices on several screens throughout the application, the Cancel button is moved closer to the Save button and or is inserted between the two. For more detailed information, see ProgressBook User Guide. Class Drop-down List Restyled On the Grade Details screen, the Class drop-down list is now light gray and labeled. 9 More Button Added to Student Switcher In the student switcher that displays for parents, when there are more than five student names, a More button is added so parents can see the additional students. Also, an Even more... option is now available if more than 15 students are linked to a parent account. When users click Even more..., the Manage Students screen displays, and they can select the student they want to view by clicking the name. 10 Change Order on Manage Students Screen On the Manage Students screen, users can now reorder the student names by using the up and down arrows or by dragging and dropping the names. This controls the order in which the names display in the student switcher. Users can also change the active student by clicking another student s name. Note: The first student in the list is the student whose information displays by default when the parent signs in to ProgressBook. For more detailed information, see ProgressBook User Guide. 11 Assignment Details Screen Changes The following changes affect the Assignment Details screen: The name of the assignment is added. If the assignment is linked to a VirtualClassroom activity, a link to View Activity is added. A link to Show assignment grading scale is added (the grading scale previously displayed by default). The link to View Class Information is moved from below the class name to the Details area of the screen. For more detailed information, see ProgressBook User Guide. Teacher Comments Display on Individual Questions When grading activities, teachers can now add comments to individual questions, and those comments display on the Question Index beneath the question when students review their graded activities. 12 Individual Questions Marked for Redo When grading activities, teachers can now mark individual questions for redo. When they do so, displays next to the selected question(s) on the Questions screen of the activity. Other questions are grayed out so students can only submit answers to the appropriate questions. 13 View Activity Link Added to Grade Details Screen A View Activity link is now added to the Grade Details screen so, in addition to viewing activities from the current reporting period, users can also view activities from previous reporting periods. For more detailed information, see ProgressBook User Guide. Activities Screen Changes On the Activities screen, the activity status labels in the Info column are now recolored and (with the exception of Redo ) abbreviated. 14 Activity Details Screen Changes On the Activity Details screen, the name of the Class is now added to the Details area, and for clarity, Points is retitled Points Possible. After the activity is graded, instead of Points Possible, the assignment Mark displays. Additionally, overall comments for the activity, if applicable, display in a Comments area directly below the Details area. For more detailed information, see ProgressBook User Guide. Questions Screen Changes On the Questions screen of an activity, answers are now automatically saved every 15 seconds, and confirmation of the save displays next to each question. The Previous Page and Next Page buttons are colored and more noticeable at the top and bottom of the screen, and a single Save & Exit button (which takes users to the Question Index) replaces the separate Save and Finished buttons. Resolved Issues The following issues are addressed in this release. Reference # Issue Description Student Switcher D8571 Previously, if parents linked more than ten students to their account, the students names did not all display in the student switcher, and parents could not access some names to view information for a different student. Now, a More button is added so parents can access all students names. Assignment Details D9165 Previously, if you set up an assignment as a shared assignment, and a student was enrolled in more than one of the classes with which the assignment was shared, an error displayed when users clicked the assignment name on the Planner to view Assignment Details. Now, under the same circumstances, the Assignment Details screen displays correctly. Grade Level ID D9174 Previously, if you had not assigned a grade level ID to a student, users were unable to access numerous screens for that student. Now, even without a grade level ID assigned to the student, users can access all screens except Course Request. Activity Status of Viewed D9235 Previously, if parents viewed their child s online activity before the student did, the activity status incorrectly displayed as Viewed for the student. Now, when parents view activities before their child, that action correctly has no effect on the activity status; only when the student clicks and views the activity does the status change to Viewed. Registration Key Generation D9224 If ParentAccess accounts previously existed for a student, but you deleted them for any reason, you were unable to generate new keys to re-establish accounts for that student. Now, you can generate new registration keys for students whose account(s) you deleted. Missing Assignments and Low Assignment Marks Alerts D1699 In the past, if you disabled a parent or student account for a user who had signed up for alerts, the alerts were still being sent even after you disabled the account. Now, alerts are only sent to users with active accounts. Student Access to Account Disabled D9236 Previously, if you disabled a student s access to his or her account from the Students screen in GradeBook, when the student tried to sign in, a security violation message displayed. Now, a more appropriate message displays and directs the student to contact the school to resolve the issue. Software Answers, Inc. 9 PA v Sep 2014
16 Reference # Issue Description Schedule Screen D9237 Previously, when users accessed the Schedule screen, the schedule sometimes defaulted to the wrong day or did not bold a meeting day. With this release, the Schedule screen displays correctly. Browser Message D9173 Previously, when users tried to access the application using Internet Explorer version 8 or earlier, a message informing them that the browser version was no longer supported should have displayed, but it did not. Now, the message displays and encourages them to upgrade their browser. District Logo on Mobile Interface D9166 Previously, if you had uploaded a school district logo that you wanted to display on the Districts screen, it did not display on mobile devices. This document contains the following items: New Enhancements Related Documentation Resolved Issues New Enhancements Adding Forms Wording Changed On the Open Tasks screen, when you click Add a Form, the window that displays is renamed from Add Optional Form(s) to Add a Form. In addition, the forms listed in this window are now described as (Additional) instead of (Optional). For more detailed information, see ProgressBook SpecialServices User Guide. FIEP Removed The FIEP is removed from the application because it is no longer required for EMIS reporting. Previous FIEP tasks you created are still available. 18 Include Page Numbers on Forms On the Open Tasks screen, you can now select or deselect the new Include Page Numbers check box to choose if you want page numbers to display on the PDF and printed versions of a form. 19 Draft Watermark on Forms On the Open Tasks screen, you can now select or deselect the new Include Draft Watermark check box to choose if you want to overlay the PDF and printed versions of a form with a DRAFT watermark. 20 Related Services Slots Removed On the Data Collection form, the number of slots for Related Services is now reduced to sixteen. Import Parent Information on General Invitation On the General Invitation, you can now import parent information by clicking in the header. The student s parent information displays in the Import Parent Information window. Select the radio button for the parent information you want to import, and click Import. 21 Resizing Table Columns in Rich Text Editor When you use the rich text editor on a form to create a table, you can now resize the table columns. 22 PSTC Outcome ID Added On all versions of the Special Education Events form, the PSTC - Preschool Transition Conference Date area now includes an Outcome ID drop-down list with the following options: A blank value **** Not Applicable PSNR Parental delay not requested PSPD Parental delay of subsequent required activities requested This value also updates the EMIS Data Collection Form and is included in the EMIS extract. 23 Summary of Performance Task Added When you create a new task, a new Summary of Performance option is available in the Task Template drop-down list. The Summary of Performance is for providing a summary of a student s academic achievement, summary of a student s functional performance, and recommendations on how to assist a student in meeting the student s postsecondary goals. The OP-8 Summary of Performance form is the only required form for this task. 24 Disability Condition Updated On the ETR 4 Eligibility form, the disability condition Cognitive Disability is now renamed Intellectual Disability. This change also shows on the Student Properties window, Special Education Events form, and the EMIS Review Data Collection Form. 25 IEP 12 Testing Dates and Assessments Added On the IEP 12 Statewide and District Wide Testing form, in the DATE OF TEST drop-down list, Feb 2015 and Feb 2016 are now options. 26 Resolved Issues The following issues are addressed in this release. Reference # Issue Description EMIS Data Collection Form D8814 Previously, the EMIS Data Collection Form did not display the correct revised date in the footer. The footer now displays the correct date. EMIS Extract D7320 D7285 If you chose 16 Developmental Delay in the special services category drop-down list on the ETR 4 Eligibility form for a preschool student, you were unable to run the EMIS Extract. You can now run the EMIS Extract without error for a student who has a developmental delay disability condition and a preschool state grade equivalent. On the Build EMIS Extract screen, in the Student drop-down list, student last names displayed correctly in descending alphabetical order, but student first names did not display in correct alphabetical order. All student names now display in correct alphabetical order, sorted first by last name and then by first name. Section 504 Forms D9175 The header text on the Section 504 Grievances task and on the Section 504 Eval task was previously misspelled. The header text is now spelled correctly. Rich Text D9187 Previously, if you used rich text elements on an IEP, the HTML tags for those elements displayed with plain text on the IEP Summary Report. The HTML tags for rich text no longer display on the IEP Summary Report. Timeout Error D9327 Verify EMIS and Print functionality timed out due to excessive processing time. These functions no longer time out. Spell Check D9252 Previously, the spell check did not function in fields with rich text formatting applied. 28 Save Indicator Added to Page Edit Screen When you save a form on the Page Edit screen, a Please wait... indicator now displays to let you know the application is saving your data. Reference # Issue Description View Archived Forms D9306 Previously, an error occurred on the View Archived Forms screen when you tried to open a form. The error no longer occurs, and you can now successfully view archived forms. Bank Import D9251 An error occurred when you tried to import bank data into a task with rich text formatting. 29 Reference # Issue Description Verify EMIS D9328 In some instances, when you clicked Verify EMIS on the Open Tasks screen, duplicate services displayed on the EMIS Data Collection Form. These services now correctly display only once. Performance D9261, 9327, 9257 Previously, screens took an excessive amount of time to load, save data and print. In some cases, this also resulted in an error. Performance improvements are now made to the application to make screens load and save data faster and not cause errors. Saving Forms D9331 On some occasions, when you returned to a form on which you had previously entered data, the data appeared not to be saved. The saved data now correctly displays. This document contains the following items: New Enhancements Related Documentation New Enhancements Mark Individual Question for Redo You can now mark individual questions for a student to redo. Select the ReDo option for each question you want the student to redo; then click Post. Note: You are not required to enter a Grade Book Mark at this time; however, to save time, you can enter the current mark now and update the mark later if the student improves his or her score. 32 Activity Grading The following enhancements are added to the Activity Grading screen: The activity name is added under the student name. If the student submitted the activity after it was due, Late displays at the top of the screen. You can add a comment to an individual question. Both arrows that you use to move to the next or previous activity to grade display on all screens. To indicate that you are on the first or last screen, one arrow is grayed out. Library Navigation Speed Improved This release includes speed improvements that make all aspects of the VirtualClassroom library faster.
