1 Gal: ThinManager Certificatin Test Lab 2 The gal is t create a Cntrl Rm with ThinManager features. This lab will: Deply tw Quad Mnitr thin clients. Deply tw Dual Mnitr thin clients. Create three Terminal Shadw Display Clients t shadw existing terminals. Create tw additinal Remte Desktp Services Display Clients fr the MultiMnitr display. The Why: This lab was chsen t represent the deplyment f a Cntrl Rm in a ThinManager system. There will be tw MultiMnitr thin clients with fur mnitrs and tw MultiMnitr thin clients with tw mnitrs. Cntrl01_Quad and Cntrl02_Quad are set up with fur mnitrs in a square. The upper left mnitr displays Alarms. It is cnfigured s that it cannt be mved r cvered, keeping it always visible fr the cntrl rm staff. HMIs are placed n the bttm left and right mnitrs fr visibility. The upper right has auxiliary applicatins, the Shadw display clients and a desktp t be available as needed. The Shadw_Line1 and Shadw_Line2 display clients allw interactive shadw since the cntrl rm staff is respnsible fr the prductin n thse lines. Cntrl03_Dual and Cntrl04_Dual are set up with side-by-side mnitrs. The left mnitr is cnfigured t display the HMI. The right mnitr is cnfigured t shw the auxiliary applicatins like the Alarms, a Desktp, and Shadw sessins. ThinManager Versin 3 - Revised 07/15/2017

Name the cnfiguratin YurNameLab#.db s we can tell the submissins apart. My submissin wuld be PaulBurnsLab02.db, fr example. Return t the SI Training cntrl panel at Uplad yur prperly named cnfiguratin file using the Lab 2 Uplad Results buttn. We will grade yur lab and send yu an with the results as sn as we can. Please allw 2-4 weeks fr the results. Yu may begin the next lab immediately withut waiting fr the results. Each lab builds n the cnfiguratin created in the previus lab. 3 The Hw - Cnfiguratin Steps: Display Servers: N additinal Remte Desktp Servers are needed fr the cntrl rm. The servers deplyed in Lab 1 have enugh resurces t supprt this deplyment. Display Clients: Remte Desktp Server. Open the Display Client branch f the ThinManager tree by selecting the Display Client icn at the bttm f the tree. Right click n the Remte Desktp Services icn and select Add Display Client. Define these display clients: Create tw Remte Desktp Services Display Clients Create ne display client named Alarms. Cnfigure using the default settings except: Check Applicatin Link and Instant Failver n the Remte Desktp and Wrkstatin Optins page. Select Dn t Use Screen Reslutin n the Sessin Reslutin/Scaling Optins page. Set the reslutin t 1024x768. Use Prductin -RDS-13 and Prductin -RDS-14 n the Display Client Member page. Use C:\Prgram Files\HMI\alarms.exe as the Prgram Path n the AppLink page. Create ne display client named HMI_2. Cnfigure using the default settings except: Check Applicatin Link and Enfrce Primary n the Remte Desktp and Wrkstatin Optins page. Add Prductin -RDS-14 and Prductin -RDS-13 t the Selected Display Client list n the Display Client Member page. This will make Prductin -RDS-14 the Primary Use C:\Prgram Files\HMI\hmi.exe as the Prgram Path n the AppLink page. Create three Terminal Shadw Display Clients t shadw the tw prductin lines and the biler. Create ne Terminal Shadw display client named Shadw_Line1. Cnfigure using the default settings except: Uncheck Keep the All Terminals Available. Select the Add buttn and select the Line-1 grup. Create ne Terminal Shadw display client named Shadw_Line2. Cnfigure using the default settings except: Uncheck Keep the All Terminals Available. Select the Add buttn and select the Line-2 grup. Create ne Terminal Shadw display client named Biler. 4 Uncheck Keep the All Terminals Available. Select the Add buttn and select the Biler grup. Uncheck the Interactive Shadw checkbx. This prevents cntrl frm utside the biler rm. If the biler needs t be cntrlled remtely, as in an emergency, an administratr can shadw it frm the ThinManager cnsle and have interactive privileges. Shadw_Biler is set fr nn-interactive, lk but dn t tuch shadw. This is because the biler shuldn t be cntrl by smene wh isn t in the rm bserving it. Terminals: Open the Terminals branch f the ThinManager tree by selecting the Terminal icn at the bttm f the tree. Right click n the Terminal icn and select Add Grup. Create a grup called Cntrl-Rm. Nte: ThinManager wrks with a variety f hardware frm a number f ACP hardware partners. Althugh specific makes and mdels are used in this lab, it is mean as an example and nt an endrsement. Create fur Cntrl-Rm terminals: Right click n the Cntrl-Rm icn and select Add Terminal. Create ne terminal named Cntrl01-Quad. Cnfigure using the default settings except: Arista : BxPC240 fr make and mdel n the Terminal Hardware page. Terminal Optins>Allw terminal t be shadw set t Warn. Check the Enable MultiMnitr checkbx n the Terminal Mde Selectin page. Select 4 (fur) as the number f mnitrs, each 1024x768, 60Hz n the MultiMnitr Vide Setting page. Set the mnitr layut t a 2x2 square with 4 separate screens n the Mnitr Layut page. On Screen A add Alarm as the display client n the Display Client Selectin page. On Screen B add fur display clients n the Display Client Selectin page. Shadw_Line1 Shadw_Line2 Shadw_Biler Desktp On Screen C add HMI as the display client n the Display Client Selectin page. On Screen D add HMI_2 as the display client n the Display Client Selectin page. Nte: HMI and HMI_2 have the same executable and can t run at the same time with the same user. One f the display clients needs t be assciated with a different user accunt. Override User Accunt ThinManager Certificatin Lab 2-4

5 Highlight the HMI_2 display client and select the Override buttn. Check the Windws Lgin Override checkbx and enter Cntrl01B with a passwrd f as the Username. Screen A Screen Optins Make sure Allw Display Clients t mve t/frm screen is unchecked s that the Alarm screen can t be mved r cvered. Screen B Screen Optins Check the Allw Display Clients t mve t/frm screen s that the display clients can be mved amng Screen B, C, and D. Check Enable Tiling s that the fur display clients are visible under nrmal cnditins. Check Tile Display Clients at startup n the Tile Optins page. Screen C Screen Optins Check the Allw Display Clients t mve t/frm screen s that the display clients can be mved amng Screen B, C, and D. Screen D Screen Optins Check the Allw Display Clients t mve t/frm screen s that the display clients can be mved amng Screen B, C, and D. Select the Enable Instant Failver Htkey n the Htkey Cnfiguratin page. Use Cntrl01A with a passwrd f n the Lg In Infrmatin page s that the terminal autmatically lgs in. Add the Key Blck Mdule with the default settings. Add the Lcate Pinter Mdule with a Lcatr Inactivity Time (secnds) f 30. Right click n the Cntrl-Rm icn and select Add Terminal. Create ne terminal named Cntrl02-Quad. Cnfigure it the same as Cntrl01_Quad except : Use Cntrl02B with a passwrd f as the Overrride username fr the HMI_2 display client. Use Cntrl02A with a passwrd f n the Lg In Infrmatin page s that the terminal autmatically lgs in. Right click n the Cntrl-Rm icn and select Add Terminal. Create ne terminal named Cntrl03-Dual. Cnfigure using the default settings except: Advantech : Un-3073G fr make and mdel n the Terminal Hardware page. Terminal Optins>Allw terminal t be shadw set t Warn. Check the Enable MultiMnitr checkbx n the Terminal Mde Selectin page. Select 2 (tw) as the number f mnitrs, each 1024x768, 60Hz n the MultiMnitr Vide Setting page. Set the mnitr layut t 1x2 side-by-side with 2 separate screens n the Mnitr Layut page. On Screen A add HMI as the display client n the Display Client Selectin page.
