2 Monitoring Report Statistical Service of Cyprus Website December Monitoring report on the website of the Statistical Service of Cyprus December This report contains key tables and graphs that provide monthly information on access to the website of the Statistical Service of Cyprus. The first part contains information for all available months and the second part contains specific statistical data concerning the reporting month. It is noted that data is available from February onwards. Part 1: Comparative Overview 1.1 Number of Unique Visitors 1 In December the number of Unique Visitors was After three months of consecutive increase, there was a significant decrease by 21%, compared to November. Probably this is due to the Christmas holidays. Even if the same IP Address visits the Web Site more than once, only the first visit is counted. IP Address is defined as a numeric address that is given to servers and users connected to the Internet. This IP address might be the same number each time you log on to the internet (called a static IP), or it might be a newly assigned number each time you connect, based on what's available

A Web Page is a document created with HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) that is part of a group of similar documents available on the World Wide Web. Collectively, these documents form what is known as a website. 3 Page Views - A Page View is defined as a single request successfully served to view a Web Page. 4 Visits - Number of times the specified visitor visited the site. A Visit is a series of actions that begins when a visitor access a web page of the site for the first time, and ends when the visitor does not perform any actions within a 3 minute time interval - 2 -

Compared to November International Visits showed a very small decrease and consequently Local Visits showed increase. 1.5 Most Accessed File Types No. Month Xls Pdf doc ppt zip 1 February March April May June July August September October November December xls: The number of Excel downloaded files was 5.936, showing a significant decrease by 2% compared to November. pdf: In December, after three moths of consecutive increase, there was a significant decrease by 39%, in the number of Adobe Acrobat downloaded files. doc: The number of Word downloaded files showed a significant decrease (for third consecutive month) by 32% compared to November. ppt & zip: Compared to the previous month, there was huge decrease in the number of PowerPoint and Zip downloaded files by 84% and 47% respectively. For Zip files the number was the smallest since February

This resulted in the worst positioning in Top Pages ranking

This occurred because total visits showed greater decrease and as result the Web Page had a better ranking compared to other Pages of the Website

For second consecutive month, on most active date there was the announcement of Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices and from this it may be derived that users are showing increased interest for the particular index. 2.6 Visits by day of Week The table below shows the activity for each day of the week within the reporting month.
