1 Hindustan Book Agency (HBA) ( Hindustan Book Agency (HBA), established over 60 years ago, publishes advanced level books in mathematics and physics. Since 1950 HBA publishes books in physical sciences, mathematics, culture and history of mathematics, etc. In last two decades, the publisher has emerged as a major publisher of graduate level texts in mathematics and physics through the TRIM and TRips series of books. Members of N-LIST Programme can access of more than 65 electronic books from Hindustan Book Agency. Browse User can browse books from the homepage of Hindustan Book Agency Click on Browse catalogue option from the navigation bar. Browse Catalogue page shows each book with publication s cover and small bibliographic details like- title, author, publication year and ISBN number. By clicking on a book title user can open that book and browse by chapter or by page. Click on the link download MARC records for this collection at the top of the page to download MARC records of all books in the collection. 2 Search Home page of Hindustan book agency provides facility to its user to search books by entering the keyword or phrases. Users can also restrict their search to title, author s name, contents of the book or chapter name. By default, it will search by content. Search by Keyword or Phrases Select a field to narrow the result Advanced search Users can opt for advanced search option to find highly relevant results. An advanced search option helps user to increase the accuracy of the search result. It allows user to make a query within certain fields like title, author, ISBN, publication year, publisher name, chapter name, book contents etc. User can also use Boolean operator to limit their search. For example type Algebra in first text entry box and select All Fields option from the drop down menu and select AND as a Boolean operator then type Geometry in the second text entry box and select title option from the drop down menu. 3 Search Result Page After searching a word or phrase, search result will be displayed in two frames. Left- Hand Frame Displays: 1. Total number of results found for particular search query 2. Highlighted search words found in context 3. Click on title to open e-book. Right- Hand Frame Displays: 4. Option to view more or less search result detail in the left frame 5. Highlighted Search Terms 5. Use to refine the Result After clicking on title of e-book on search result page, it displays home page of e-book. Various options available on home page of e-book are as follows. In the Left Hand Frame 1. Details Tab: Users can click on Detail tab to display detailed information of e- book including title, author(s), publisher, publication year, ISBN number and MARC record download link for that particular book. 3. Search Results Tab: This tab displays search result information with searched words within the book highlighted in red. (To view the main search results, users can click on the Back to Main Search Results button in the right frame of the Detail View Page). 4. Bookmark Icon: User can add the page to bookmarks by clicking bookmark icon. In the Right Hand Frame 5. Back to Main Search Results: Click this button to return to Main Search Results page. 6. TOC: Users can select this option to display or hide all options available in left frame including Table of Contents. Search: Click here to open and close Search Box at the lower corner of left frame. 7. Page Navigator: Use these buttons to go to the next page or return to the previous page N-LIST INFLIBNET Centre 4

5 Search History: This option allows users to view a maximum of 30 search histories for that particular desktop. Searches can be carried out again using previously searched words or by combining the searched words with new terms or in combination with field checkboxes. Users can also save particular searches to their hard disk for later use by clicking on the Floppy Disk icon given at the right of the search result.
