10 Czech Success Stories For IT companies, The Czech Republic is a great place to do business. Czech engineers and developers are known to be on the forefront of innovation and the region is very friendly to foreign investments. Founded in Prague in 1988, it is only thanks to our employees that Avast managed to grow from a family company to a global leader in digital security. Ondrej Vlcek, CTO, Avast Seznam.cz is the largest online media company in the Czech Republic. Providing more than 20 web services like search, news or entertainment. Founded in 1996 as one-man show in a garage, it grew into a company with more than 1200 employees reaching about 90 % of the Czech on-line population and a yearly profit of about one million Euros. Europe can be a strong player in a digital industry, it has plenty of successful digital companies. Seznam.cz is a good example of them. Michal Feix, the CEO of Seznam.cz. GoodData has been developing its products in the Czech Republic for almost 10 years. Our prior companies NetBeans and Systinet as well as the companies that acquired them have been using the same model since Czech Republic is great place for attracting talented engineers, both Czech natives and people from Eastern Europe and Russia too.
