No.: 620_1 1 Introduction The REDDAF Web Portal is part of the REDDAF project dissemination activities that aim to spread the outcome of the project within the REDD User and Scientific Communities in general, and within the case study countries in particular in order to raise user awareness of the project activities, to identify new users, to source additional funding for the new REDD initiatives and to transfer the technology used and developed within the project framework. This report describes the objective and structure of the REDDAF website and gives an outlook on further enhancements during Phase 2. 2 Presentation of the REDDAF Web Portal The REDDAF Web Portal aims to bundle project information, background and news as well as to provide public reports and other downloadable material. Additionally, the REDDAF Web Portal is supporting the communication, information sharing and coordination requirements of the Project Partners. Within Phase 1 of the REDDAF project, the Dissemination deliverable D620.1 REDDAF Web Portal has been activated as a stand-alone website using the link Figure 2 (see next page) presents a screenshot of the REDDAF Homepage. The website has been realized using the Content Management System (CMS) Drupal and is structured as follows. The header (see Figure 1) is dominated by the REDDAF Project logo and contains some parent tasks: the link Home (to come back to the front page), a contact form and a link to the internal section (password-protected area for project partners) as well as the text search within the website. The footer refers to the legal information (Disclaimer, Impressum and Privacy Policy). Links are provided to the GAF Website (being the Consortium Lead of the REDDAF Project), to the Seventh Framework Programme and to the Research Executive Agency Header (REA) of the European Commission as the funding source. The main space of the REDDAF Web Portal is occupied by the content menu (navigation) and representation. The content menu is subdivided into the following five main headings in order to enable an easy access to any REDDAF project or background information and REDDAF project news: Project Profile Project Activities Country Focus Background Newsroom. REDDAF Project Information Navigation Content Footer Figure 1: REDDAF website structure The Project Profile presents the objectives of the REDDAF project, the expected results and an outline of the REDDAF project partners. REDDAF project activities are highlighted under the following sub-sections (corresponding to the project structure): D620.1 REDDAF Webportal Page 1

No.: 620_1 Requirements: which encompasses User Requirements and Service Architecture Requirements; Research: describing the research activities on deforestation, degradation and direct biomass assessment; Service Demonstration: outlining the service development and integration in Cameroon and Central African Republic; Validation (see Figure 3); Capacity Building: assuring the technology transfer and Dissemination: reporting on dissemination activities by REDDAF partners and providing a link to selected presentations. REDDAF Project Background Information Under Country Focus both countries involved in the REDDAF project (Cameroon and Central African Republic) are profiled and their respective REDD+ readiness initiatives are summarised. Information related to the GMES and FP7 programmes as well as a short summary of the REDD policy process are presented in Background. REDDAF Project News Finally, information regarding REDDAF partners dissemination actions and corresponding dissemination material are exhibited in the Newsroom. During REDDAF project phase 2 the web portal will be regularly updated with current project results and project-related news during the lifetime of the REDDAF project. Furthermore, the REDDAF Web Portal will be extended to become a bilingual website to reach beside of the English-speaking also the French-speaking REDD community and new potential Users.
