3 Chapter 1 System Operating Environment and Components 1.1 Operating environment For this system is under improvement and the template interface can be changed by the user, what displays on your screen may differ from legends and diagrams in this manual. Operating environment for the HD camera as described in this manual is the basic requirements, with the best visual effects under a resolution of For configuration requirements of the camera, please refer to Table 1-1 below. Operating environment Table 1-1 Items Description DirectX Microsoft DirectX 9.0 or later Operating system Windows XP Web browser Supports IE6.0, IE7.0 and IE8.0 Hardware requirement Core Duo CPU, 2G DDR or higher Display requirement NVIDIA GF7300 (256M) or higher Bandwidth requirement 100M shared or higher 1.2 System components The system is mainly composed of eight modules, functions of which are briefed below, and operating instructions detailed in the following chapters. (1)Video browsing:the user can not only browse the main/secondary stream images, generate screen shots, but also record videos and replay local video files and those files from long-range search stored in the memory device; () (2)User setting:the user can be added and deleted, and permissions and the password for the user can be modified; (3)Network parameters:including settings of basic information of the system, Rtsp and the Ntp server; (4)Channel setting:including settings of basic information, compression parameters and PTZ (pan tilt and zoom) parameters; (5)Record setting:settings of FTP recording, snapping parameters, SD card and support for 2
4 recording; (6)Alarm input/output setting: Including settings of alarm type, timing and alarm processing; (7)Equipment information: Including basic information of equipments, selection of the system and startup of the voice intercom; (8)Advanced settings:time setting zone, updating, remote reset, and other operations. Chapter 2 Login System 2.1 Log in the HD camera on IE 1. Open IE, and input IP address for the camera in the address field, Diagram Enter the login interface where the languages for operation (English or Chinese) can be selected, input the user name authorized, password and the corresponding communication port of the server providing services to the user, as shown below. Diagram After successful login, it will automatically enter into the video browsing page, on the left side of which is for function selection, the middle for video browsing and the right side for setting of PTZ control and video parameters, as shown in Diagram 2-3 below. 3
5 Diagram 2-3 Chapter 3 Video Browsing and Replay 3.1 Video browsing The interface below will be displayed in the video browsing zone. 4
6 Diagram 3-1 If the video control is to be updated, click Update Video Control on top left to download the control, close IE, unload the former control, install the new one, and enter IE interface for browsing. The IP address for video connection, connection status and resolution will be displayed on the top left, as shown in Diagram 3-2 below. Diagram 3-2 The date, week, time display, channel No. selected and display position can be adjusted in the view according to requirements, as shown below. Diagram 3-3 On the right side is the control button for PTZ control and video parameters. PTZ control includes adjustment of PTZ speed, three zoom lens, zooming, aperture and direction, as shown below. 5
7 Diagram 3-4 Click PTZ Parameter Setting for setup of PTZ parameters, such as address, protocol, baud rate (bps), data bit and check bit. Diagram 3-5 For setting of PTZ parameters, select the channel first, and then set up the software according to parameters required by the equipments, including address, protocol, baud rate (bps), data bit and check bit. Video parameters can be changed and set up through adjustment of brightness, contrast, saturation and chroma. 6
8 Diagram 3-6 At the bottom of the view, there is a row of buttons for switch between the main stream and secondary stream, video disconnection, snapping, recording, replay, opening audio and refreshing. 3.2 Recording and replay Diagram 3-7 Recording of video files played includes that through memory device, such as memory card and that of local files. The Record button at the bottom of the video image refers to recording of local files. Recording status is displayed in red as shown below. Click Stop Recording after recording is finished. 7
9 Diagram 3-8 After entry into the following interface, files can be searched through input of the date and channel. Buttons Search and Select Local Files refer to search of video files stored in the memory card and search of video files stored on the disc respectively. Video files searched out can be replayed through double-click or click on the Play button after selection, and fast-play, snapping, opening video and other operations are available at the same time. 8
10 Diagram 3-9 The user needs to start up remote recording and set up the size of video file in the remote recording setting zone for realization of remote recording, and the user can select Search button in the Replay interface for replay. Remote recording setting of the front SD card is shown below. Diagram 3-10 Chapter 4 User Setting In the User Setting interface, such operations as adding, deletion and editing of the user and change of the password are available, as shown below. 9
11 Diagram Adding and deletion of user In the Add User interface, a user can be added, the password can be set and confirmed, and a prompt will be displayed in case of successful adding. Diagram 4-2 A user can be deleted after being selected. 10
12 4.2 Change of password Input the old password and the new one for change of password for a user selected, as shown below. 4.3 Change of permissions Diagram 4-3 After a user is selected, operating permissions of the user can be authorized or limited in the list of permissions. 11
13 Chapter 5 Network Parameters 5.1 Basic information In the Network Setting interface for setting of basic information, IP address, subnet mask, DNS, data port for remote access, web port and start-up of remote control center can be set, so as to the gateway that is suggested to be in compliance with that of the LAN. Note: Modified parameters of the network port and for remote access must be saved in the Advanced Settings interface and restart must be performed, or else, the modification will not become effective. In case the WEB port is changed, url of format must be used for reopening of the setting interface or software shown below. Diagram
14 5.2 Rtsp setting In the RTSP (real time streaming protocol) interface, start-up of Rtsp, the port and IDs for main/secondary stream access can be set, as shown below. 5.3 Ntp server Diagram 5-2 If Ntp (Network Time Protocol), i.e. setting of time synchronization control, is to be applied, IP address of the Ntp server must be filled in, as shown below. 15 Chapter 6 Channel Setting 6.1 Setting of basic information In the Basic Information Setting interface, basic information and functions of a channel can be se, as shown below. Diagram 6-1 Among the basic information, overlapped display, including overlapping time and position, overlapped channel, selection of time type and display of week can be set at discretion according to conditions. 14
16 Diagram 6-2 The following interface will be display after motion detection is applied. Click the left mouse button and drag on the video to draw a rectangle frame to be detected. Any region drawn can be cleared, and a motion detection region can be re-selected before click on Save. Furthermore, the threshold value and sensitivity of motion can be set. Click Advanced Settings button to enter the interface for timing and alarm type setting. 15
17 Diagram 6-3 In the Advanced Settings interface below, a time quantum to be arranged can be selected for setting, and the quantum set can be copied to a region with the same time arrangement. Alarm processing modes include upload to the center, trigger alarm output or not and trigger alarm output 1. 16
18 Diagram Setting of video parameters On the Video Parameter Setting page, the user can not only set up frame rate (fps) of the main/secondary stream, type of stream, resolution, type of bit rate, image quality and upper limit of streams, but also define the streams at discretion, including settings of analog output and video input, as shown below. 17
19 Diagram 6-5 Resolution of the main stream can be set as 4CIF, VGA, HD, FULL-D1 or 1920*1080, and the user can set up all parameters necessary. With the Analog Output Setting option, the user can choose whether to enable analog output or not. Diagram 6-6 With the Video Input Setting option, the user can define the anti-flicker mode, color mode, color to black and white mode, speed of electronic shutter, and rotate the video input image 180. Diagram 6-7 Note: Only the main stream is effective in case analog output is enabled. For settings of analog output and electronic shutter, parameters must be saved in Advanced Settings and the device must be re-started. 18
20 6.3 Audio parameter setting In the Audio Parameter Setting interface, the audio enlargement factor can be selected and voice intercom can be enabled, as shown below. 6.4 PTZ parameter setting Diagram 6-8 In the PTZ Parameter Setting interface, the address, protocol, baud rate, data bit and check bit of the channel selected can be set, as shown below. 21 Chapter 7 Alarm Setting 7.1 Alarm input setting Alarm input port at rear part of the HD camera enables entry of self-defined names, selection of alarm type, setting of alarm time, arrangement of any time quantum within a week, copy of time quantum arranged to a week with the same time quantum, setting of alarm processing mode, including Process or not, PTZ linkage, Upload to the center, Trigger Alarm Output or not, Trigger Alarm Output 1, as shown below. 7.2 Alarm output setting Diagram 7-1 On the Alarm Output Setting page, the user can set up types of alarm output, including timing output, output N.O., output N.C. (normally closed). Output as scheduled can be accomplished through setting of time arrangement shown below. Furthermore, time delay for ending of alarm output can be set after an alarm is silenced, and alarms can be manually terminated or triggered. 20

23 Chapter 8 Recording Parameters 8.1 Setting of FTP looped recording Start up Ftp, set up IP address and port of the Ftp server, user name, password and size of the data to be stored if recording data needs to be stored in the memory device at the front part (such as SD card) under Ftp protocol, as shown below. 8.2 Snapping parameter setting Diagram 8-1 On the Snapping Parameter Setting page, the quantity of pictures for each snap, time interval between snaps, snap processing modes can be set. Pictures snapped can be processed in two ways, namely to be stored in SD card or uploaded to the FTP server. Setting of FTP is required if the pictures are uploaded to the server. Note: Snapping is only available when the secondary stream is set in MJPEG compressed format and the device is inserted with a SD card. 22
24 Diagram Front SD card setting On the Front SD Card Setting page, the user can decide whether to perform SD card recording and set the size of a video file, as shown below. Diagram
25 Chapter 9 System Setting and Advanced Settings 9.1 System Setting On the Device Information page, the user can see the name of the device used, mode selected, device type, product ID, software version No., Web version, hardware version and number of channels. 24
