29 Reported in tech blog Alphr : a remarkable permission in the Windows 10 s services agreement: the operating system has the right to scan all software and hardware on your computer and disable anything it believes is illegal. Section 7b reads: We may automatically check your version of the software and download software updates or configuration changes, including those that prevent you from accessing the [Windows] Services, playing counterfeit games, or using unauthorised hardware peripheral devices. Users have to agree to all terms in the Windows 10 services agreement before it will install. The doomsday scenario is Windows 10 starts looking for your pirated copies of Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop and Call of Duty and shutting them down. 30 Windows Update Delivery Optimization (WUDO) is a peer-to-peer file distribution server, like a Bittorrent client, built right into W10. WUDO doesn t just speed up delivery of Windows updates to you. Instead, pieces of the W10 installation and update files on your machine and/or local network may be distributed to other W10 users who need them. There's no evidence that WUDO is a threat to your privacy or security, it's just a bit icky. And who knows if it might not be subverted by Evil Hackers tomorrow? 30

31 The purpose of WiFi Sense is to make sharing WiFi Internet access easy, according to Microsoft. You don t have to give the WiFi key to a visitor to your home or office (assuming they are in your Contacts list), and the visitor doesn t have to enter it in his/her device. Password sharing via WiFi Sense is enabled by default for Outlook/Hotmail and Skype (both owned by Microsoft) contacts. You do have to give permission to make it available to your Facebook contacts. Your contacts in any of those three services who are using Windows Phone or (soon) Windows 10 can access your WiFi networks via WiFi Sense. 31

33 Most people will probably use the default express mode to upgrade their system. When they do, they will find that the default web browser has become the new Microsoft Edge, no matter what had been set as the default browser before the upgrade. 33

35 If you don t have a need for some feature provided by the new system and are having no problems with your current one, maybe an upgrade is unnecessary at least until next summer. At that point you can evaluate whether you want to be prepared to pay for W10 if you decide you need it later. Each new feature of Windows 10 needs to be evaluated in the light of individual preferences. 35
