3 Release Type and Definition Dell Wyse Device Manager (WDM) software is the premier enterprise solution for managing Dell Wyse thin and zero clients simply, remotely, and securely. It enables IT professionals to easily organize, upgrade, control, and support thousands of Windows Embedded, Windows CE, Linux, Wyse ThinOS, Xenith, and P-Class devices across any LAN, WAN, or wireless network. The software uses industry standard communication protocols and a component-based architecture to efficiently manage your network devices. Its intuitive, simple and powerful user interface is built to operate as a standard snap-in to the Microsoft Management Console (MMC). Dell Wyse Device Manager (WDM) includes an easy-to-use console that enables you to easily perform all the device management functions that are required to run and maintain your WDM Environment. It also provides Web UI access. Version Maintenance and Upgrade release Release Date December 22, 2015 Previous Version WDM 5.5 Importance Dell Wyse recommends applying this update during your next scheduled update cycle. The update contains major feature enhancements or changes that help keep your system software current and compatible with other system modules. Support Information The following are the supported operating systems. 4 Supported Operating System for GUI The WDM GUI can be installed on the following operating systems: Windows 2003 R2 SP2 (only for upgrades from WDM 4.9.1) Windows 2008 SP2 32-bit Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Enterprise Windows 2012 Standard Windows 2012 Standard R2 Windows 7 (32 bit) SP1 Enterprise Windows 7 (64 bit) SP1 Enterprise Note: You can install the GUI on more than one computer. Localized Supported Operating Systems for WDM Server Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Enterprise and Windows 2012 Standard R2 French German Spanish Japanese Chinese Localized characters cannot be used as file name for the following: RSP packages Hostname of WDM Server Send messages Configuration packages Supported Databases The following databases can be installed on the Database Server: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 - English Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express English (default, built-in option in Installer) Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Enterprise (32 -bit). 5 What's New This section provides details of the new features or fixes added in this release. Full Windows 10 Support WDM provides Profile Manager and PAD imaging support for windows 10 devices. It also provides support for WCM, Real time command, Package distribution and so on. In general now Windows 10 can be managed end to end from WDM. Note: VWorkspace cannot be configured from WCM for WIE10 because the VWorkspace receiver for windows 10 is not yet available. Supported Platform Matrix for Windows 10 The following are the supported platforms for Windows 10: Platform Image Version A A08 Profile Manager Support for WES7P WDM provides Profile Manager Support for WES7P devices. You can create Profile Manager for WES7P. WCM WCM has been incorporated with WDM Note: If WCM agent version is installed on Windows clients then Latest HAgent should be installed on windows device to support WCM through WDM. WDM Package Registration Utility A utility to register a package is available in the Web UI folder (C:\inetpub\wwwroot\WebUI\Utilities). This utility can be used to register a package if the size is less than 30MB. Note: A package having size larger than 30MB cannot be registered. WDM

From the Web UI you can perform some actions and also able to save changes. You can use the following URL format to Access Web UI Server Host Name>/WebUI/app/indexf.html# Perform the following task to Login to Web UI: 1) By default you can use the User Name that is existing in the WDM GUI, with the same credentials. 2) If you want to login with new user to the WEB UI, then that user needs to be added in the WDM GUI (Configuration Manager-> User Permission) before you can login from the Web UI. 3) Added user can be local or domain user. To login with domain user in Web UI, you must specify domain name along with username. For example, domainname\username For local user specify only username. For example, Username. Here local user means user created locally on the machine where Management Server is installed. Note: You need to set Enable 32 Bit Application to True in the IIS for some of the features on the Web UI to function where the Server is installed on 64bit OS. WDM

7 Steps to Enable 32-Bit application Click on Start->Run and enter the value inetmgr Right click Application Pool->ASP.NET v4.0 and select Advance Settings. In the Advance Settings window, select True from the drop down list of Enable 32 Bit Application. You can edit and save the changes in the console page Known Issues/Limitations Summary Causes / Details Solution / Workarounds WDM HAgent: Client Discovery failed when client Having lower version of HAgent with WDM WDM Discovery : DNS SRV and DNS HOSTNAME discovery method is not working when static IP is assigned for client. Enabling/Disabling the Day light saving option from WCM GUI is not reflecting in WES10 clients. VMware and vworkspace configurations are not currently supported on WIN10 devices. If the HAgent version is then the devices are getting discovered in Chinese and Japanese OS you need to upgrade the HAgent The devices having Static IP address is not getting discovered using DNS SRV and DNS Host Name Enabling/Disabling the Day light saving option from WCM GUI is not reflecting in WES10 clients. VMware and vworkspace configurations are not currently supported on WIN10 devices. Upgrade the HAgent to the latest version Use Dynamic or DHCP IP address NA VMware View is support but vworkspace is not supported from the client WDM

10 Pre-Requisites for Installing WDM This Version can be installed on: WDM 5.5 GA Release Build 620 Note: WDM is not a full installer and hence this must be installed on top of WDM 5.5 only Pre-installation Check List The following are the pre-installation requirements for WDM 5.5.1: Before you start the installation, ensure that all scheduled packages have completed. This is required to ensure that no device-specific updates are pending while a WDM upgrade is in progress. Make sure that all the WDM GUI instances that are running locally or remotely are closed prior to starting the upgrade. Before you start the installation make sure that all local and remote connections to the WDM server are closed and all WDM GUI sessions are closed when the hotfix installation is in progress. Note: You cannot uninstall this version after you install it. Steps to Install WDM To install the hotfix: 1) Extract the installer file in a suitable folder location. 2) Run the Setup.exe file from the folder. 3) After the installation completes, confirm the installation by starting the WDM Console, right-click the WyseDeviceManager node under Console Root, and select About Dell Wyse Device Manager option.
