1 MEASURE 2011 Installing a multi user Measure 2011 license consists of three steps on the server to install the Measure License Server and four steps on the client workstations to install a copy of Measure. Installation steps on the server: 1) download the License Server setup file, 2) install the License Server, and 3) register and start the License Server. These steps appear in red below. Installation steps on the client workstations: 1) download the Measure setup and update files, 2) install Measure 2011 on the workstations, 3) update Measure 2011 on the workstations, and 4) run the License Wizard on the workstations. These steps appear in blue below. Please note: the instructions below are specifically for Internet Explorer 9. If you are using a different browser or a different version of Internet Explorer, some of the windows and prompts may differ. Server Side: Download License Server Setup File 1. You will receive an e mail from Measure Support with instructions and the serial number for your Measure 2011 multi user license. It is best to open this e mail on the computer/server on which you will install the License Server. Click on the first link in the e mail to go to the installation instructions posted on the Measure Forum. Multi User License Installation

2 2 2. The instructions for the License Server appear in red on the Measure Forum posting. Scroll down to the License Server Instructions and click on the link in Step 1 to download the License Server setup file. 3. A prompt will appear asking whether you want to run or save the License Server setup file. Click on the down arrow at the right edge of the Save button. 4. We recommend saving the License Server setup file to your Desktop to make it easy to find. Click on Save as in the menu that appears. When the Save As dialog box appears, click on Desktop on the left hand side of the dialog box, then click on the Save button.

3 3 Server Side: Install License Server 1. After the License Server setup file downloads, go to your Desktop and double click on it to begin the installation. 2. When the Security Warning appears, click on the Run button. 3. The Welcome screen for the License Server Setup Wizard will open. Click on the Next button.

4 4 n 4. Click on the Next button to confirm the installation location of the License Server. 5. Click on the Close button to complete the installation. Server Side: Register and Start License Server 1. Go back to the license e mail you received and highlight the serial number. Right click on the highlighted serial number and choose Copy.

5 5 n 2. Start the License Server. It will be located under RFMS on the Start menu of the server. 3. When the Licensee Server Registration dialog box opens, enter your name and organization name. The serial number you copied from your license e mail should automatically appear. If it doesn t, right click in the Serial Number box and choose Paste. Make sure your Internet connection is active and click on the Register button.

It will continue to run in the background. Note: Before continuing with the installation of Measure on the client side, please note the IP address of the computer that is running the License Server. Client Side: Download Measure Setup and Update Files 1. On one of your workstations, go to the multi user installation instructions posted on the Measure Forum. The link to thesee instructionss is located in the Measure licensing e mail you received.

7 7 2. Scroll down through the multi user installation instructions posted on the Measure Forum until you get to the workstation instructions in blue. Click on the link for the Setup_1125.exe file under Step 1 to download the Measure setup file to your workstation. 3. A prompt will appear asking whether you want to run or save the Measure setup file. Click on the down arrow at the right edge of the Save button. 4. We recommend saving the Measure setup file to your Desktop to make it easy to find. Click on Save as in the menu that appears. When the Save As dialog box appears, click on Desktop on the left hand side of the dialog box, then click on the Save button.

8 5. Go back to the Measure Forum post, and click on the link for the Update_1235.exe file. 6. A prompt will appear asking whether you want to run or save the Measure update file.

9 9 n Client Side: Install Measure After you have finished downloading the Measure setup and update files, double click on the Setup_1125.exe file on your workstation s Desktop. 2. Choose your setup language and click on the OK button. 3. The InstallShield Wizard will extract the files needed for the installation. Wait for this to finish.

10 10 n 4. After the installation files have been extracted, the Welcomee screen will appear for the Measure InstallShield Wizard. Click on the Next button. 5. Review the License Agreement when it appears and, if desired, click on the Print button to maintain a printed copy of the agreement. Click on I accept the terms in the license agreement and then click on the Next button. 6. Click on the Install button to begin installing Measure on your workstation. 7. After the installation has completed, click on the Finish button to exit the wizard.

If you are asked to confirm installing the Measure update,

11 11 Client Side: Update Measure Now that Measure has been installed, you need to install the critical update. Doubleclick on the Update_1235.exe file on your Desktop. 2. If you are asked to confirm installing the Measure update, click on the Run button. 3. The InstallShield Wizard will extract the files needed for installing the update. Wait for this to finish.

12 12 n 4. After the installation files have been extracted, the Welcome screen will appear for the Measure Update InstallShield Wizard. Click on the Update button to begin installing the Measure update. 5. The InstallShield Wizard will install the Measure update. When the update is complete, click on the Finish button to exit the wizard. Client Side: Run Licensee Wizard 1. Open the Licensee Wizard located under Measure 2011 in the Start menu of your workstation.

13 13 2. Click on the Multiuser button and then click on the Next button. 3. Click on the Measure Workstation button and then click on the Next button.

Specify the Server IP Address and the Edition to Request, then click on the OK button. 6. Measure will open on the workstation. You will need to repeat the steps on pages 6 14 of these instructions for each workstation.

Measure installation support has a minimum fee of $75 for the first hour or portion of an hour, with an additional $75 charge for each additional hour or portion of an hour.
