4 1. Introduction This Manual applies to the Grundig IP Cameras GCI-F4687D, GCI-F4687T, GCI-F4687V and GCI-K5687T. The Manual includes instructions for using and managing the products. Pictures, charts, images and all other information hereinafter are for description and explanation only. The information contained in the Manual is subject to change, without notice, due to firmware updates or other reasons. Please find the latest version on the company website. Please use this user manual under the guidance of professionals. Important Safety Instructions These instructions are intended to ensure that the user can use the product correctly to avoid danger or property loss. 5 Warnings: - Please adopt the power adapter which can meet the safety extra low voltage (SELV) standard and source it with 12 VDC or 24 VAC (depending on models) according to the IEC and Limited Power Source standard. - To reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock, do not expose this product to rain or moisture. - This installation should be made by a qualified service person and should conform to all the local codes. - Please install blackout equipment into the power supply circuit for convenient supply interruption. - Please make sure that the ceiling can support more than 50(N) Newton gravities if the camera is fixed to the ceiling. - If the product does not work properly, please contact your dealer or the nearest service center. Never attempt to disassemble the camera yourself. (We shall not assume any responsibility for problems caused by unauthorised repair or maintenance.) Cautions: - Make sure the power supply voltage is correct before using the camera. - Do not drop the camera or subject it to physical shock. - Do not touch sensor modules with fingers. If cleaning is necessary, use a cleaning cloth with a bit of ethanol and wipe it gently. If the camera will not be used for an extended period of time, put on the lens cap to protect the sensor from dirt. - Do not aim the camera lens at strong light such as the sun or an incandescent lamp. The strong light can cause fatal damage to the camera. - The sensor may be burned out by a laser beam, so when any laser equipment is being used, make sure that the surface of the sensor is not exposed to the laser beam. - Do not install the camera in extremely hot or cold temperatures (the operating temperature should be between -30 C ~ 60 C, or -40 C ~ 60 C if the camera model has an H in the suffix), or in a dusty or damp environment, and do not expose it to high electromagnetic radiation. - To avoid heat accumulation, good ventilation is required to ensure a proper operating environment. - Keep the camera away from water and any liquid. - While shipping, the camera should be packed into ist original packing. - Improper use or replacement of the battery may result in the hazard of explosion. Please use the battery type recommended by the manufacturer. NOTE: For the camera which supports IR, you are required to pay attention to the following precautions to prevent IR reflection: - Dust or grease on the dome cover will cause IR reflection. Please do not remove the dome cover film until the installation is finished. If there is dust or grease on the dome cover, clean the dome cover with a clean soft cloth and isopropyl alcohol. - Make sure that the installation location does not have any reflective surfaces of objects that are too close to the camera. The IR light from the camera may reflect back into the lens causing a reflection in the video image. - The foam ring around the lens must be seated flush against the inner surface of the bubble to isolate the lens from the IR LEDS. Fasten the dome cover to the camera body so that the foam ring and the dome cover are attached seamlessly. 3. 6 4. Network Setup Regarding the Network Connection: - You shall acknowledge that the use of a product with Internet access might be under network security risks. For avoidance of any network attacks and information leakage, please strengthen your own protection. If the product does not work properly, please contact your dealer or the nearest service center. - To ensure the network security of the network camera, we recommend that you assess and maintain the network camera termly. Before you start: - If you want to set the network camera via a LAN (Local Area Network), please refer to Section 4.1 "Setting the Network Camera over LAN". - If you want to set the network camera via a WAN (Wide Area Network), please refer to Section 4.2 "Setting the Network Camera over WAN" Network Camera Setup over LAN To view and configure the camera via a LAN, you need to connect the network camera in the same subnet with your computer, and install the SCMS software to search and change the IP of the network camera. NOTE: For a detailed introduction of the SCMS, please refer to the last chapter Wiring over the LAN Connection via switch or router : Generally, the network camera and the computer are connected via a switch or a router. Direct connection : To bring the network camera into the same subnet as the computer (or to test the camera), connect the two devices directly with a network cable. 4 English

7 Bringing the camera and computer into the same subnet : Take the following steps to connect to the network camera from the computer: 1. Set the network adapter of the computer to the factory-set subnet of the camera. (Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings... > Properties... ) For the default network settings of the camera, see Default settings (below). 2. Connect the two devices with a network cable. 3. Open the web interface of the camera from a web browser on the computer. For details, see the chapter 5.1. "Accessing through Web Browsers". For information about the Grundig Device Manager, see the chapter 5.2. "Accessing through the Grundig Device Manager". Default settings : Out of the box, the camera has these settings: - IP address: DHCP: enabled - UPnP: enabled - Login: user: admin, password: 1234 Adding the camera to the intended subnet : Via the web interface of the camera, you can change ist network settings to add it to the subnet it will be used in. 1.On the Network page, click on the TCP/IP tab. 2. Set the IP address of the camera to the desired subnet. 3. Click on "Save". 4. Reboot the camera. i. (Optional) Configure the network settings of the computer to assign it to the subnet set in step 2. With both devices in the same subnet, you can reopen communication between the computer and the camera Creating a Password Creating a Password via a Web Browser: 1. Power on the camera, and connect the camera to the network. 2. Input the IP address into the address bar of the web browser, and click "Enter" to enter the activation interface. NOTE: - The default IP address of the camera is English 5

8 - For the camera that enables the DHCP by default, the IP address is allocated automatically. - To log in, use the Default User ID and Password: admin/ You will be asked to create a stronger password. - If you push the button "Cancel" (Abbrechen), you will be led directly to the Live image page. - If you push "OK", you will be led directly to the Security page where you can create a new user ID and password. 3. Create a password and input the password into the password field. STRONG PASSWORD RECOMMENDED: We highly recommend you create a strong password of your own choosing (using a minimum of 8 characters, including at least three of the following categories: upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters) in order to increase the security of your product. And we recommend you reset your password regularly. Especially in a high security system, resetting the password monthly or weekly can protect your product better. 4. Confirm the password. 5. Click OK to save the password and to enter the live view interface Network Camera Setup over WAN This section explains how to connect the network camera to the WAN with a static IP or a dynamic IP. 6 English

9 Static IP Connection Before you start: Please apply a static IP from an ISP (Internet Service Provider). With the static IP address, you can connect the network camera via a router or connect it to the WAN directly. - Connecting the network camera via a router: 1. Connect the network camera to the router. 2. Assign a LAN IP address, the subnet mask and the gateway. Please refer to Section for detailed IP address configuration of the network camera. 3. Save the static IP in the router. 4. Set the port mapping, e.g., 80, 8000, and 554 as the ports. The steps for port mapping vary according to the different routers. Please call the router manufacturer for assistance with port mapping. NOTE: Refer to chapter 11 for detailed information about port mapping. 5. Visit the network camera through a web browser or the SCMS over the internet. - Connecting the network camera directly through a static IP: You can also save the static IP on the camera and directly connect it to the internet without using a router. Refer to Section for detailed IP address configuration of the network camera. English 7

10 Dynamic IP Connection Before you start: Please apply a dynamic IP from an ISP. With the dynamic IP address, you can connect the network camera to a modem or a router. - Connecting the network camera via a router: 1. Connect the network camera to the router. 2. On the camera, assign a LAN IP address, the subnet mask and the gateway. Refer to Section for detailed IP address configuration of the network camera. 3. In the router, set the PPPoE user name, password and confirm the password. 4. Set the port mapping, e.g. 80, 8000, and 554 as the ports. The steps for port mapping vary depending on the router. Please call the router manufacturer for assistance with the port mapping. NOTE: Refer to Chapter 11 for detailed information about the port mapping. 5. Apply a domain name from a domain name provider. 6. Configure the DDNS settings in the setting interface of the router. 7. Visit the camera via the applied domain name. - Connecting the network camera via a modem: This camera supports the PPPoE auto dial-up function. The camera gets a public IP address by ADSL dial-up after the camera is connected to a modem. You need to configure the PPPoE parameters of the network camera. Refer to Section PPPoE for the detailed configuration. NOTE: The obtained IP address is dynamically assigned via PPPoE, so the IP address always changes after rebooting the camera. To solve the inconvenience of the dynamic IP, you need to get a domain name from the DDNS provider (E.g. DynDns.com). Please follow the steps below for setting a normal domain name resolution and a private domain name resolution to solve the problem. - Normal Domain Name Resolution: 8 English

11 1. Apply a domain name from a domain name provider. 2. Configure the DDNS settings in the DDNS settings interface of the network camera. Refer to Section DDNS for the detailed configuration. 3. Visit the camera via the applied domain name. - Private Domain Name Resolution: 1. Install and run the IP Server software on a computer with a static IP. 2. Access the network camera through the LAN through a web browser or the SCMS. 3. Enable DDNS and select IP Server as the protocol type. Refer to Section DDNS for information about the detailed configuration. English 9

12 5. Accessing the Camera 5.1. Accessing via Web Browsers 1. Open the web browser in Administrator mode. 2. In the browser address bar, input the IP address of the network camera, and press the Enter key to enter the login interface. NOTE: - The default IP address is Select English or another language as the interface language - above the "Login" button. 5. Input the user name and password and click on "Login". The admin user should configure the device accounts and user/operator permissions properly. Delete any unnecessary accounts and user/operator permissions. NOTE: The IP address gets locked if the admin user performs 7 failed password attempts (5 attempts for the user/operator). 6. Install the plug-in before viewing the live video and operating the camera. Please follow the installation prompts to install the plug-in. 10 English

13 NOTE: - Note that DHCP is enabled by default on the camera. If a DHCP server exists on the network, the camera may have acquired an IP address from the DHCP address range. In that case, refer to your system administrator for assistance. You can also use the Grundig Device Manager or UPnP to detect the camera. - If user accounts have been created for the camera, you are directed to the login page of the camera (see the chapter 5.4. "Login"). If no user accounts have been created, the Live View page is opened directly. NOTE: You may have to close the web browser to install the plug-in. Please re-open the web browser and log in again after installing the plug-in. English 11

14 5.2. Accessing via Grundig Device Manager The product CD contains the SCMS software "Grundig Device Manager". You can view the live video and manage the camera with the software. Follow the installation prompts to install the software. The control panel of the SCMS software is shown below. Grundig Device Manager is a Windows-based software tool that can be used to manage and configure Grundig IP cameras and video encoders. The tool automatically locates Grundig devices on the network and offers you an intuitive interface to set and manage network settings, configure devices, show device status, and perform firmware upgrades. To install the Grundig Device Manager: 1. Download the latest version of the Grundig Device Manager at 2. Double-click the setup file. 3. Follow the installation steps to install the software. To connect to the camera via the Grundig Device Manager: 1. When you start the Grundig Device Manager, the network is scanned. Detected devices appear in the List View pane. 2. If multiple network adapters exist, select the appropriate adapter to scan the network that you wish to connect to. 3. To perform a manual search, click on the "Rescan" button. 4. Use the tabs in the Tree View pane to define the scope of your search. 5. Click on the column headings in the List View pane to sort devices by type, IP address, or name. 6. To connect to the webpages of the camera, double-click on its entry in the device list, - or - Right-click the entry, and then click on "Open Web Page". If user accounts have been created for the camera, you are directed to the login page of the camera (see the chapter 5.4."Login"). If no user accounts have been created, the Live View page is opened directly. 12 English

15 Change the network settings with the Grundig Device Manager : With the Grundig Device Manager, you can directly change the network settings of the camera. To assign a static IP address : 1. Go to the list of detected devices, and then right-click on the entry for the camera. 2. Click on "Change Network Settings". 3. In "Change Network Settings", click "Static IP". 4. Provide the camera with an appropriate IP address, netmask, and gateway address for the desired network configuration, and then click on "OK". 5. In the pop-up window indicating that you have successfully changed the settings, click on "OK". 6. Wait one minute, and then rescan the network. 7. To access the webpages of the camera, double-click on its entry in the list of found devices. To assign a DHCP server : 1. Record the MAC address of the camera (see the Serial no. Column in Grundig Device Manager) for future identification. 2. In the list of detected devices, right-click on the device with the network property that you would like to change. 3. Click on "Change Network Settings". 4. In the "Change Network Settings", click on "Enable DHCP", and then click on "OK". 5. In the pop-up window indicating that you have successfully changed the settings, click on "OK". 6. Wait one minute, and then rescan the network. You can identify the camera by its MAC address. 7. To access the webpages of the camera, double-click on ist entry in the list of found devices. NOTE: A DHCP server must be installed on the network in order to provide DHCP network support. NOTE: For detailed information about the software, please refer to the user manual of the SCMS. English 13

16 5.3. Accessing via UPnP Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) support is enabled by default on the camera. With the UPnP service enabled in Windows, you can get access to the camera from the Windows Explorer. To connect to the camera via UPnP : 1. In Windows Explorer, open the Network folder. The detected devices in the same subnet as the computer will be displayed, including Grundig codecs and cameras with UPnP support. 2. Double-click on the camera that you want to connect to, - or - Right-click on the camera, and then click on "View device webpage". If user accounts have been created for the camera, you are directed to the login page of the camera (see "Log on to the camera"). If no user accounts have been created, the Live View page is opened directly Login An Admin user is set as a default user in the camera. The default user is: admin The default password is: 1234 After inputting this information, you will be asked to set a stronger password. But this is not necessarily needed. You can carry on by using the default user account information mentioned above. Creating a Password via a Web Browser is supported. The admin can create, modify and delete "Operator" and "User" accounts, as needed. Before he can start adding accounts, however, he must create a new admin account and set an admin password. The initial admin account is then no longer available. CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU CHANGE THE ADMIN PASSWORD AT THE FIRST LOGIN. TO KEEP THE ACCOUNT SAFE, CREATE A STRONG, COMPLEX PASSWORD. THIS HELPS TO PREVENT UNAUTHORISED ACCESS FROM PEOPLE WHO TRY TO USE THE DEFAULT ACCOUNT. 14 English

17 Login box : You are prompted to supply your user name and password. Only users with a valid account can log in Installing the video player plug-in For (live) video viewing and operating the camera, a video player plug-in is needed. If the plug-in is not detected, you are prompted to download and install it. To install the plug-in : 1. Click the hyperlink in the webpage of the camera. 2. Save the WebComponents.exe file to your Downloads folder. 3. Close your web browser. 4. Go to your Downloads folder. 5. Double-click on "WebComponents.exe". The executable file does not give rise to any security risks. You can install it safely. 6. Follow the installation steps. 7. Open your web browser. 8. Reconnect to the camera. English 15

18 6. Live View 6.1. Live View Page The live view page allows you to view the real-time video, capture images, set/call presets and configure video parameters. Log in the network camera to enter the live view page, or you can click Live View in the menu bar of the main page to enter the live view page. Descriptions of the live view page: Camera Model : This shows the camera model you are connecting to. Menu Page Names : Click on each tab to enter the menu pages. Live View : Displays the live video. Tool Bar : Operations on the live view page, e.g., capture, record, etc. 16 English

20 Additionally, these Grundig Camera Models have a PTZ panel with some additional functions. (Please note that not all camera models support all functions.) To use these functions, please click on the blue arrow tab on the right side of the "Live View" page. Then a Function Panel will be opened up (please refer to the picture below). PTZ Operation : On the Live View page, you can use the PTZ control buttons for pan/tilt/zoom control of the camera. NOTE: To realise PTZ control, the camera connected to the network must support the PTZ function or a pan/tilt unit must be installed to the camera. Before you realise PTZ control, make sure that the PTZ parameters (System > RS-485) are correctly configured. Direction buttons : Zoom/Focus/Iris buttons : 18 English

21 To pan/tilt the camera: - Click the direction buttons shown above. - or - - Drag your mouse pointer across the Live View window. NOTE: The direction buttons are not available if your camera model supports lens movement only. PTZ Speed slider : Use the PTZ Speed slider to adjust the speed of pan/tilt movements. Drag to the right to increase speed and to the left to decrease speed. Additional buttons : Availability of the following buttons varies per camera model. Presets : By setting a preset, you can save a camera position to which you want the camera to return to when you call the preset or when an event occurs. Preset buttons : The following buttons are available for preset management. To set a preset : 1. In the PTZ control panel, select a preset number from the preset list. 2. Use the PTZ control buttons to move the lens to the desired position. - Pan the camera to the right or left. - Tilt the camera up or down. - Zoom in or out. - Refocus the lens. 3. Click "Set". To call a preset : 1. In the PTZ control panel, select the preset you need. 2. Click "Call". The camera will move to the position stored for this preset. English 19

22 To delete a preset : 1. In the PTZ control panel, select the preset you wish to delete. 2. Click "Delete". Patrols : A patrol is a recorded sequence of presets to be adopted consecutively by the camera when the patrol is started. Patrol buttons : The following buttons are available for patrol management. To create a patrol : 1. In the PTZ panel, click on the Patrol tab. 2. Select a Patrol Path number. 3. Click "Set". 4. Click "Add". 5. In the Preset list, select a preset number. 6. In the Speed box, type in a value for the patrol speed. 7. In the Time box, type in a value for the patrol duration. 8. Repeat steps 4 ~ 7 to add more presets. 9. (Optional) Use the arrow buttons to adjust the order of the presets. 10. Click "OK". To start a patrol : 1. In the PTZ pane, click on the Patrol tab. 2. Select the Patrol Path to be started. 3. Click "Start". To stop a patrol : 1. In the PTZ pane, click on the Patrol tab. 2. Select the Patrol Path to be stopped. 3. Click "Stop". To delete a patrol : 1. In the PTZ pane, click on the Patrol tab. 2. Select the Patrol Path to be deleted. 3. Click Delete Manual Recording & Snapshots In the live view interface, click on the (photo camera) icon in the toolbar to capture the live pictures or click on the (video camera) icon to record the live view. The saving paths of the captured pictures and clips can be set on the "System> Local Configuration" page. To configure the remote scheduled recording, please refer to Section "Record Schedule". NOTE: The captured images will be saved as JPEG files or BMP files on your computer. 20 English

23 7. Playback This section explains how to view the remotely recorded video files stored on the network disks or on the SD cards. 1. Click Playback on the menu bar to enter the playback interface. 2. Select the date and click on Search. Video recordings for this date - if any - appear in the Time line at the bottom of the page. Recording types - Command, Continuous, Alarm, and Manual - can be distinguished by their colour. The progress pointer is positioned at the start of the first recording. 3. Click on > (Play) to play the video files found on this date. The toolbar on the bottom of the Playback interface can be used to control the playing process. English 21

24 NOTE: You can choose the file paths locally for the downloaded playback video files and pictures in the System> Local Configuration interface. Please refer to Section "Local Configuration" for the details. Drag the progress bar with the mouse to locate the exact playback point. You can also input the time and click on the Enter (arrow) button to locate the playback point in the Set playback time field. You can also click on the - / + to zoom out/in the progress bar. The different colours of the video on the progress bar stand for the different video types. 22 English

25 8. Camera Settings 8.1. System Settings Basic Information Enter the Basic Information interface: System> Basic Information. In the Basic Information interface, you can edit the Device Name. Other information of the network camera, such as Model, Serial No., Firmware Version, Encoding Version, Number of Channels, Number of HDDs, Number of Alarm Input and Number of Alarm Output are displayed. The information cannot be changed in this menu. It is the reference for maintenance or modification in future. To assign a device name and device number : 1. In Device Name, type a (user-friendly) name for the camera. 2. In Device No., type the camera number. 3. Click "Save". 23 English

26 Time Settings You can follow the instructions in this section to configure the time synchronisation and DST settings. 1. Enter the Time Settings interface: System> Time Settings - Select the Time Zone. Select the Time Zone of your location from the drop-down menu. > Synchronising the time by NTP Server: (1) Check the checkbox to enable the NTP function. (2) Configure the following settings: >> Server Address: IP address of the NTP server. >> NTP Port: Port of the NTP server. >> Interval: The time interval between the two synchronising actions with the NTP server. 27 NOTE: If the camera is connected to a public network, you should use an NTP server that has a time synchronisation function, such as the server at the National Time Center (IP Address: ptbtime1.ptb.de). If the camera is set up in a customised network, the NTP software can be used to establish an NTP server for time synchronisation. > Synchronising the time synchronisation manually: Enable the Manual Time Sync. function and then click on the (calendar) icon to set the system time from the pop-up calendar. NOTE: You can also check the Sync. With computer time checkbox to synchronise the time of the camera with that of your computer. - Click on the DST tab page to enable the DST function and to set the date of the DST period. 2. Click on Save to save the settings Upgrade & Maintenance TO REBOOT THE CAMERA: 1. Enter the Upgrade & Maintenance interface: System> Upgrade & Maintenance 2. Click on Reboot to reboot the network camera. 25 English

28 TO IMPORT / EXPORT THE CONFIGURATION: The Configuration File is used for the batch configuration of the camera, which can simplify the configuration steps when there are a lot of cameras needing configuring. 1. Enter the Upgrade & Maintenance interface: System> Upgrade & Maintenance 2. Click on Export (or: Device Parameters) to export the current configuration file, and save it to a certain place. 3. Click on Browse to select the saved configuration file and then click on Import to start importing the configuration file. NOTE: You need to reboot the camera after importing the configuration file. 4. Click on Export and set the saving path to save the configuration file in the local storage. TO RESTORE THE DEFAULT SETTINGS: 1. Enter the Maintenance interface: System> Upgrade & Maintenance 2. Click on Restore or Default to restore the default settings. TO UPGRADE THE SYSTEM: 1. Enter the Upgrade & Maintenance interface: System> Upgrade & Maintenance 2. Select the firmware or the firmware directory to locate the upgrade file. - Firmware: Locate the exact path of the upgrade file. - Firmware Directory: Only the directory the upgrade file belongs to is required. 3. Click on Browse to select the local upgrade file and then click on Upgrade to start the remote upgrade. NOTE: The upgrading process will take 1~10 minutes. Please do not disconnect the power of the camera during the process. The camera will reboot automatically after the upgrade. NOTE: After restoring the default settings, the IP address is also restored to the default IP address. Please be careful about this change to the default IP address. English 26

29 RS485 The RS485 serial port is used to control the PTZ of the camera. The configuring of the PTZ parameters should be done before you control the PTZ unit. 1. Enter RS-485 Port Setting interface: System> RS Set the RS485 parameters and click on "Save" to save the settings. By default, the "Baud Rate" is set as 9600 bps, the "Data Bit" is 8, the "Stop Bit" is 1 and the "Parity" and "Flow Control" is "None". NOTE: The "Baud Rate", "PTZ Protocol" and "PTZ Address" parameters should be exactly the same as the PTZ camera parameters / control device parameters. 27 English

30 Log The operation, alarm, exception and information of the camera can be stored in log files. You can also export the log files on your demand. Before you start: Please configure the network storage for the camera or insert an SD card into the camera. 1. Click on System> Log in the menu to enter the log searching interface. 2. Set the log search conditions to specify the search, including the Major Type, Minor Type, Start Time and End Time. 3. Click on Search to search the log files. The matched log files will be displayed in the Log interface. 4. To export the log files, click on Export to save the log files on your computer. Exports can be saved as Text files or Excel files. 31 Local Configuration The local configuration refers to the parameters of the live view, recording files and captured pictures. The recording files and captured pictures are the ones you recorded and captured using the web browser and thus the saving paths of them are on the PC running the browser. 1. Enter the Local Configuration interface: System> Local Configuration 2. Configure the following settings: - Live View Parameters: Set the protocol type and live view performance. > Protocol Type: TCP, UDP, MULTICAST and HTTP are selectable. >> TCP: Ensures complete delivery of streaming data and better video quality, yet the real-time transmission will be affected. >> UDP: Provides real-time audio and video streams. >> HTTP: Allows the same quality as of TCP without setting specific ports for streaming under some network environments. >> MULTICAST: It is recommended to select the MCAST type when using the Multicast function. For detailed information about Multicast, refer to Section "TCP/IP". > Live View Performance: Set the live view performance to Shortest Delay or Auto. > Rules: It refers to the rules on your local browser, select "Enable" or "Disable" to display or not to display the coloured marks when a motion detection e.g. is triggered. E.g.: When the rules are enabled, and the motion detection is enabled as well: when a motion is detected, it will be marked in the live view. > Image Format: Choose the image format for the picture capture. - Record File Settings: Set the saving path of the recorded video files. This is valid for the recording files you recorded with the web browser. > Record File Size: Set the packed size of the manually recorded and downloaded video files to 256M, 512M or 1G. After the setting, the maximum recording file size is the value you selected. > Save record files to: Set the saving path for the manually recorded video files. > Save downloaded files to: Set the saving path for the downloaded video files in playback mode. 29 English

32 - Picture and Clip Settings: Set the saving paths of the captured pictures and clipped video files. Valid for the pictures you captured with the web browser. > Save snapshots in live view to: Set the saving path of the manually captured pictures in live view mode. > Save snapshots when playback to: Set the saving path of the captured pictures in playback mode. > Save clips to: Set the saving path of the clipped video files in playback mode. NOTE: You can click on Browse to change the directory for saving the clips and pictures. 3. Click on Save to save the settings Security Settings User Management Enter the User Management interface: Security> User Management - Adding a User: The admin user has all permissions by default and can create / modify / delete other accounts. The admin user cannot be deleted and you can only change the admin password. 1. Click on Add to add a user. 2. Input the User Name, select the Level and input the Password. NOTE: - Only 1 administrator account exists. - Up to 31 user/operator accounts can be created. - Users of different levels own different permissions. The options Operator and User are selectable. 33 - Modifying a User: 1. Left-click to select the user from the list and click on Modify. 2. Modify the User Name, Level or Password. 3. In the Basic Permission field and Camera Configuration field, you can check or uncheck the permissions. 4. Click on OK to finish the user modification. - Deleting a User: 1. Click to select the user you want to delete and click on Delete. 2. Click on OK on the pop-up dialogue box to delete the user Authentication You can specifically secure the stream data of the live view. 1. Enter the Authentication interface: Security> Authentication 2. Select for the RTSP Authentication type the options Basic or Disable in the drop-down list to enable or disable the RTSP authentication. NOTE: If you disable the RTSP authentication, anyone can access the video stream by the RTSP protocol via the IP address. 3. Click on Save to save the settings. Enabling the Anonymous Visit function allows that somebody visits the device who does not have the user name and password of the device. NOTE: Only live view is available for the anonymous user. 1. Set the Anonymous Visit permission to Enable or Disable in the drop-down list to enable or disable the anonymous visit. 2. Click on Save to save the settings. There will be a checkbox next to Anonymous the next time you are logging in. 31 English

34 3. Check the checkbox of Anonymous and click on Login. By permitting the Anonymous Live View function, you may enable others to access your camera and view live images without providing the login credentials. It is therefore critical when permitting the Anonymous "Live View" function to ensure that your camera's field of view does not impact the privacy of individuals whose images might be captured without authorisation. Given the inherent intrusiveness of video surveillance, the surveillance is inappropriate in areas where people have a higher expectation of privacy. To enable the remote login, and improve the data communication security, the camera provides a security service for a better user experience. 1. Go to Security> Authentication to enter the security service configuration interface. 2. Check the checkbox of Enable SSH to enable the data communication security, and uncheck the checkbox to disable the SSH. 3. Check the checkbox of Enable Illegal Login Lock, and then the IP address will be locked if the admin user performs 7 failed user name/password attempts (5 times for the operator/user). NOTE: If the IP address is locked, you can try to login into the device after 30 minutes IP Address Filter This function makes access control possible. 1. 35 2. Check the checkbox of Enable IP Address Filter. 3. Select the type of the IP Address Filter in the drop-down list, the options Forbidden and Allowed are selectable. 4. Set the IP Address Filter list. - Add an IP Address: (1) Click on Add to add an IP. (2) Input the IP Adreess. (3) Click on OK to finish the modifying. - Delete an IP Address: Left-click on an IP address from the filter list and click on Delete. - Delete all IP Addresses: Click on Clear to delete all the IP addresses. 5. Click on Save to save the settings. (3) Click on OK to finish the adding. - Modify an IP Address: (1) Left-click on an IP address from the filter list and click on Modify. 36 8.3. Network Settings TCP/IP The TCP/IP settings must be properly configured before you operate the camera over the network. The camera supports both the IPv4 and IPv6. Both versions may be configured simultaneously without conflicting each other, and at least one IP version should be configured. 1. Enter the TCP/IP Settings interface: Network> TCP/IP 2. Configure the basic network settings, including the NIC Type, IPv4 or IPv6 Address, IPv4 or IPv6 Subnet Mask, IPv4 or IPv6 Default Gateway, MTU settings and Multicast Address. 3. (Optional) If you check the checkbox next to Enable Multicast Discovery, then the online network camera can be automatically detected by the SCMS software via the private multicast protocol in the LAN. 4. Click on Save to save the above settings. NOTE: - The valid value range of MTU is 1280 ~ The Multicast sends a stream to the multicast group address and allows multiple clients to acquire the stream at the same time by requesting a copy from the multicast group address. Before utilising this function, you have to enable the Multicast function of your router. - A reboot is required for the settings to take effect. English 34

Set the HTTP port, RTSP port, HTTPS port and server port of the camera. - HTTP Port: The default port number is 80, and it can be changed to any port No. which is not occupied. - RTSP Port: The default port number is 554, and it can be changed to any port No. ranges from 1024 to HTTPS Port: The default port number is 443, and it can be changed to any port No. which is not occupied. - Server Port: The default server port number is 8000, and it can be changed to any port No. That ranges from 2000 to Click on Save to save the settings. NOTE: A reboot is required for the settings to take effect DDNS If your camera is set to use PPPoE as its default network connection, you can use the Dynamic DNS (DDNS) for network access. Before you start: Registration on the DDNS server is required before configuring the DDNS settings of the camera. 38 1. Enter the DDNS Settings interface: Network> DDNS 2. Check the Enable DDNS checkbox to enable this feature. 3. Select the DDNS Type. Four DDNS types are selectable: IPServer, NO-IP, and DynDNS. - DynDNS: (1) Enter Server the Address of DynDNS (e.g. members.dyndns.org). (2) In the Domain text field, enter the domain name obtained from the DynDNS website. (3) Enter the Port of the DynDNS server. (4) Enter the User Name and Password registered on the DynDNS website. (5) Click on Save to save the settings. - IP Server: (1) Enter the "Server Address" of the IP Server. (2) Click on Save to save the settings. NOTE: For the IP Server, you have to apply a static IP, subnet mask, gateway and preferred DNS from the ISP. Under Server Address should be entered the static IP address of the computer that runs the IP Server software. - NO-IP: (1) Choose for the DDNS Type the option NO-IP. (2) Enter the Server Address as (3) Enter the Domain name you registered. (4) Enter the Port number, if needed. (5) Enter the User Name and Password. (6) If you click on Save, then you can view the camera with the domain name. English 36

39 PPPoE 1. Enter the PPPoE Settings interface: Network> PPPoE 2. Check the Enable PPPoE checkbox to enable this feature. 3. Enter the User Name and Password, and Confirm the password for the PPPoE access. NOTE: The User Name and Password should be assigned by your ISP (Internet Service Provider). NOTE: A reboot is required for the settings to take effect SNMP You can set the SNMP function to get the camera status, parameters and alarm related information and manage the camera remotely when it is connected to the network. Before you start: Before setting the SNMP, please download the SNMP software and manage to receive the camera information via the SNMP port. By setting the Trap Address, the camera can send the alarm event and exception messages to the surveillance center. NOTE: The SNMP version you select should be the same as that of the SNMP software. And you also need to use a specific version according to the security level which you require. SNMP v1 provides no security and SNMP v2 requires a password for access. SNMP v3 provides encryption and if you use the third version, a HTTPS protocol must be enabled. 37 English

42 QoS QoS (Quality of Service) can help solve the network delay and network congestion by configuring the priority of data sending. 1. Enter the QoS Settings interface: Network> QoS 2. Configure the QoS settings, including Video/Audio DSCP, Event/Alarm DSCP and Management DSCP. The valid value range of the DSCP is The bigger the DSCP value is, the higher the priority is. NOTE: DSCP refers to the Differentiated Service Code Point and the DSCP value is used in the IP header to indicate the priority of the data. 3. Click on Save to save the settings. 43 FTP You can configure the FTP server related information to enable the uploading of the captured pictures to the FTP server. The captured pictures can be triggered by events or a timing snapshot task. 1. Enter the FTP Settings interface: Network> FTP 2. Configure the FTP settings. Put in the user name and password that are required for login to the FTP server. ATTENTION: - For your privacy and to better protect your system against security risks, we strongly recommend the use of strong passwords for all functions and network devices. The password should be something of your own choosing (using a minimum of 8 characters, including at least three of the following categories: upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers and special characters) in order to increase the security of your product. - Proper configuration of all passwords and other security settings is the responsibility of the installer and/or end-user. - Directory: In the Directory Structure field, you can select the root directory, parent directory and child directory. When the parent directory is selected, you have the option to use the Device Name, Device Number or Device IP for the name of the directory; and when the Child Directory is selected, you can use the Camera Name or Camera No. As the name of the directory. - Upload type: To enable uploading the captured picture to the FTP server. - Anonymous Access to the FTP Server (in which case the user name and password won t be required.): Check the Anonymous checkbox to enable the anonymous access to the FTP server. NOTE: The anonymous access function must be supported by the FTP server. 3. Click on Save to save the settings. 41 English

44 If you want to upload the captured pictures to the FTP server, you have to enable the timing snapshot on the "Storage" > Capture page or event-triggered snapshot here under "FTP". 1. Check the Enable Event-triggered Snapshot checkbox in the FTP settings to activate the event-triggered snapshot. 2. Select the quality of the snapshot. 3. Set the time interval between two snapshots. 4. Click on Save to save the settings Mail The system can be configured to send an notification to all designated receivers if an alarm event is detected, e.g., motion detection event, video loss, video tampering, etc. Before you start: Please configure the DNS Server settings under Network> TCP/IP before using the function. 1. Enter the TCP/IP Settings (Network> TCP/IP) to set the IPv4 Address, IPv4 Subnet Mask, IPv4 Default Gateway and the Preferred DNS Server. Configure the following settings: - Sender: The name of the sender. - Sender s Address: The address of the sender. - SMTP Server: The SMTP Server IP address or host name (e.g., smtp.263xmail.com). - SMTP Port: The SMTP port. The default TCP/IP port for SMTP is 25 (not secured). And the SSL SMTP port is Encryption: None, SSL, and TLS are selectable. When you select SSL or TLS and disable STARTTLS, e- mails will be sent after being encrypted by SSL or TLS. The SMTP port should be set as 465 for this encryption method. When you select SSL or TLS and enable STARTTLS, s will be sent after being encrypted by STARTTLS, and the SMTP port should be set as Attached Image: Check the checkbox of Attached Image if you want to send s with attached alarm images. - Interval: The interval refers to the time between two actions of sending attached pictures. - Authentication (optional): If your server requires authentication, check this checkbox to use the authentication to log in to this server and enter the login user name and password. Up to 2 receivers can be configured. - Receiver: The name of the user to be notified. - Receiver s Address: The address of the user to be notified. 4. Click on Save to save the settings NAT (Network Address Translation) Universal Plug and Play (UPnP ) is a networking architecture that provides compatibility among networking equipment, software and other hardware devices. The UPnP protocol allows devices to connect seamlessly and to simplify the implementation of the networks in the home and corporate environments. With this function enabled, you do not need to configure the port mapping for each port, and the camera will be connected to the Wide Area Network via the router. 1. Check the checkbox Enable UPnP to enable the UPnP function. The name of the device when detected online can be edited. 43 English

46 2. Choose the port mapping mode. To do port mapping with the default port numbers: Choose for the Port Mapping Mode the option Auto. To do port mapping with the customised port numbers: Choose for the Port Mapping Mode the option Manual. And for manual port mapping, you can customise the value of the port number yourself. 3. 47 HTTPS HTTPS provides authentication of the web site and associated web server that you are communicating with, which protects against Man-in-the-middle attacks. Perform the following steps to set the port number of https. E.g.: If you set the port number as 443 and the IP address is , you may access the device by inputting into the web browser. 1. Enter the HTTPS settings interface: Network> HTTPS 2. Check the checkbox of Enable HTTPS to enable the function. 3. Create the self-signed certificate or authorised certificate. - Create the self-signed certificate: 1) Select Create Self-signed Certificate as the Installation Method. Click on the Create button to enter the creation interface. 2) Enter the country, host name/ip, validity and other information. 3) Click on OK to save the settings. NOTE: If you already have a certificate installed, the Create Self-signed Certificate will be grayed out. 45 English

48 - Create the authorised certificate: 1) Select "Create the certificate request first and continue the installation" as the Installation Method. Click on the Create button to create the certificate request. 2) Download the certificate request and submit it to the trusted certificate authority for signature. 3) After receiving the signed valid certificate, import the certificate to the device. 4. 49 8.4. Video/Audio Settings Streaming 1. Enter the Video Settings interface: Video> Streaming When you check the checkbox of "Enable Dual-VCA", the information of the objects (e.g. human, vehicle, etc.) will be marked in the video stream. Then you can set rules on the connected rear-end device to detect the events including line crossing, intrusion, etc. 2. Set the Stream Type of the camera to Main Stream(Normal) or Sub-Stream The main stream is usually for recording and live viewing with good bandwidth, whereas the sub-stream can be used for live viewing when the bandwidth is limited. 3. You can customise the following parameters for the selected main stream or sub-stream: 47 English

50 - Video Type: Set the stream type to Video Stream, or Video & Audio Composite Stream. The audio signal will be recorded only when the Video Type is set to Video & Audio. - Resolution: Select the resolution of the video output. - Bitrate Type: Set the Bitrate Type to Constant or Variable. - Video Quality: When the Bitrate Type is set as Variable, 6 levels of video quality are selectable. - Frame Rate: Set the frame rate to 1/16~25 fps. The frame rate is to describe the frequency at which the video stream is updated and it is measured by frames per second (fps). A higher frame rate is advantageous when there is movement in the video stream, as it maintains the image quality throughout. - Max. Bitrate: Set the Max. Bitrate to 32~12288 Kbps. A higher value means a higher video quality, but a higher bandwidth is required. - Video Encoding: If the Stream Type is set to Main Stream : H.264+ is selectable. If the Stream Type is set to Sub Stream or Third Stream, H.264+ and MJPEG are selectable. - H.264+: If you set the main stream as the stream type, and H.264 as the video encoding, you can see H.264+ available. H.264+ is an improved compression coding technology based on H.264. By enabling H.264+, users can estimate the HDD consumption by its maximum average bitrate. Compared to H.264, H.264+ reduces storage by up to 50% with the same maximum bitrate in most scenes. You need to reboot the camera if you want to turn on or turn off the H If H.264+ is enabled and the "Bitrate Type" is set to "Variable", you can configure the average bit rate and you can calculate the HDD consumption according to the average bit rate, or you can set the average bit rate manually, which should be smaller than the "Max. Bitrate". Note that the "Max. Bitrate" setting is unavailable if "Bitrate Type" is set to "Variable". The Video Quality, Profile, I Frame Interval and SVC are unavailable if you set "Bitrate Type" to "Constant". NOTE: - Upgrade your video player to the latest version if live view or playback does not work properly due to compatibility. - The bitrate type must be variable if you want to use H.264+ or H With H.264+/H.265+ enabled, the parameters such as profile, I frame interval, video quality, and SVC are greyed out if the bitrate type is variable. - With H.264+/H.265+ enabled, some functions are not supported (ROI, Clipping, Third Stream, Smart Event, Display Info. On Stream, Counting, and Rotation are not supported). For those functions, corresponding interfaces will be hidden. - H.264+/H.265+ can spontaneously adjust the bitrate distribution according the requirements of the actual scene in order to realize the set maximum average bitrate in the long term. The camera needs at least 3 days to adapt to a fixed monitoring scene. English 48

51 - Profile: Only Main Profile is selectable for the encoding. - I Frame Interval: Set the I-Frame interval to 1~ SVC: Scalable Video Coding is an extension of the H.264/AVC standard. Select OFF / ON to disable / enable the SVC function. If you select Auto, the device will automatically extract frames from the original video when the network bandwidth is insufficient. - Smoothing: This refers to the smoothness of the stream. The higher the value of the smoothing is, the better the fluency of the stream will be, even though the video quality may not be satisfactory. The lower the value of the smoothing is, the higher the quality of the stream will be, even hough it may appear not fluent. 4. Click on Save to save the settings. HOW TO CONFIGURE THE AUDIO: 1. To configure the audio, please make settings under the following items: NOTE: The Audio settings vary depending on the different camera models. - Audio Encoding: G.722.1, G.711 ulaw, G.711alaw, G.726, MP2L2 and PCM are selectable. For MP2L2, the Sampling Rate and Audio Stream Bitrate are configurable. For PCM, the Sampling Rate can be set. - Audio Input (depending on camera model): MicIn and LineIn are selectable for the connected microphone and pickup respectively. - Input Volume: adjustable. - Environmental Noise Filter: Set it as OFF or ON. When the function is enabled, the noise in the environment can be filtered to some extent. 2. When the settings are finished, click on "Save" Picture Adjustment You can set the image quality of the camera, including brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, sharpness, etc. 1. Enter the Picture Adjustment interface:video> Picture Adjustment 2. Set the image parameters of the camera. NOTE: In order to guarantee the image quality in different illuminations, the camera provides two sets of parameters for the user to configure. - Switch Day and Night Settings (Auto-switch): This is the automatic switching of Day and Night. - Switch Day and Night Settings (Scheduled- Switch): The Day/Night scheduled-switch configuration interface enables you to set separate camera parameters for day and night to guarantee the image quality in different illuminations. Set the start time and the end time to define the duration for day/night mode. 49 English

52 1. Click on the time line to select the start time and the end time of the switch. 2. Click on the Common tab to configure the common parameters applicable to day mode and night mode. NOTE: The settings are saved automatically if any parameter is changed. > Image Adjustment: >> Brightness: Describes the brightness of the image, which ranges from 1~100, and the default value is 50. >> Contrast: Describes the contrast of the image, which ranges from 1~100, and the default value is 50. >> Saturation: Describes the colourfulness of the image colour, which ranges from 1~100, and the default value is 50. >> Sharpness: Describes the edge contrast of the image, which ranges from 1~100, and the default value is 50. > Exposure Settings: If the camera is equipped with a fixed lens, only "Manual" is selectable and "Iris Mode" is not configurable. If "Auto" is selected, you can set the auto iris level from 0~100. For the camera which supports P-Iris lens, if P-Iris lens is adopted, then the P-Iris lens type is selectable, e.g.: Tamron mm F1.2 (M13VP288-IR), or if a DC lens is adopted, then Manual and Auto are selectable. The exposure time refers to the electronic shutter time, which ranges from 1~1/100,000 s. Adjust it according to the actual luminance condition. English 50

53 > Focus Settings: If the camera supports an electronic lens, you can set the focus mode to "Auto", "Manual" or "Semi-auto". >> Auto: The focus is adjusted automatically according to the actual monitoring scenario. >> Manual: You can control the lens by adjusting the zoom, focus, lens initialisation, and auxiliary focus via the PTZ control interface. >> Semi-auto: The camera focuses automatically when you adjust the zoom parameters. > Day/Night Switch: Select the Day/Night Switch mode, and configure the smart IR settings from this option. Use this section to select the Day/Night switch mode and to configure the smart IR settings. >> Day: The camera stays in day mode. >> Night: The camera stays in night mode. >> Auto: The camera switches automatically between day mode and night mode according to the illumination. The sensitivity ranges from 0~7. The higher the value, the easier the mode switches. The filtering time refers to the interval time between the day/night switch. You can set it from 5 s to 120 s. >> Schedule: Set the start time and the end time to define the duration for day/night mode. >> Triggered by alarm input: This switch is triggered by alarm input, and you can set the trigger mode to day or night. >> Smart Supplement Light: On cameras with IR LEDs, the Smart Supplement Light function gives users an option to adjust the power of the IR LED to provide a clear image that is not overexposed or too dark. Select ON to enable the smart IR. This makes Auto is selectable for the IR mode. In AUTO mode, the power of the IR LED changes automatically according to the actual luminance. For example, if the current scene is bright enough, the IR LED adjusts itself to lower power. If the scene is not bright enough, the IR LED adjusts itself to higher power. In Manual mode, you can manually set the value of the distance between the IR camera and the object, to adjust the power of the IR LED. A small distance value indicates that the object is near the IR camera, and the device adjusts the IR LED to lower power to avoid overexposure. A large distance value indicates that the object is far away, and the device adjusts the IR LED to higher power to avoid a too dark image. > Backlight Settings: If you focus on an object against strong backlight, the object will be too dark to be seen clearly. Backlight Compensation (BLC) compensates the light to the object in the front to make it clear. >> BLC Area: Select an area from the list. As an alternative, you can select Custom, click Draw Area, and then drag your mouse pointer across the camera view to create a custom area. With OFF selected, the WDR setting is available. >> WDR: Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) can be used when there is a high contrast between a bright area and a dark area of the scene. >> HLC: The High Light Compression (HLC) function can be used when there are strong lights in the scene affecting the image quality. > White Balance: The White Balance is the white rendition function of the camera used to adjust the colour temperature according to the environment. The White Balance mode can be set to Auto, MWB, Outdoor, Indoor, Fluorescent Lamp, Sodium Lamp and Auto-Tracking. This function varies per camera model. >> Auto Mode: In Auto mode, the camera retains the colour balance automatically according to the current colour temperature. >> Manual White Balance: In MWB (Manual White Balance) mode, you can adjust the colour temperature manually to meet your requirements. >> Outdoor: Select Outdoor when the camera is installed in an outdoor environment. >> Indoor: Select Indoor when the camera is installed in an indoor environment. >> Fluorescent Lamp: Select Fluorescent Lamp when there are fluorescent lamps installed near the camera. >> Sodium Lamp: Select Sodium Lamp when there are sodium lamps installed near the camera. >> Auto-Tracking: In Auto-Tracking mode, the white balance is continuously adjusted in real-time according to the colour temperature of the scene illumination. 51 English

54 > Image Enhancement: This section includes the Digital Noise Reduction, Defog and Gray Scale settings. >> Digital Noise Reduction: Reduces the noise in the video stream. Options: OFF, Normal and Expert. Noise reduction level range: 0~100. Default value: 50 in Normal Mode. In Expert mode, you can set the Space DNR Level [0~100] and the Time DNR Level [0~100]. >> Defog Mode: Enhances the subtle details so that the image appears clearer. You can turn on the defog function when the environment is foggy and the image is misty. >> Gray Scale: Controls the gray scale of the image. Range: [0~235] or [16~235]. > Video Adjustment: This section offers the following video adjustment functionality: >> Mirror: Mirrors the image so you can see it inversed. Options: Left/Right, Up/Down, Center, and OFF. >> Rotate: To make a complete use of the 16:9 aspect ratio, you can enable the Rotate function when you use the camera in a narrow view scene. When installing the camera, turn it to 90 degrees or rotate the 3-axis lens to 90 degrees, and set the "Rotate" Mode as on. You will get a normal view of the scene with a 9:16 aspect ratio to ignore the needless information such as the wall, and get more meaningful information of the scene. >> Scene Mode: Select for the Scene Mode the option Indoor or Outdoor according to the real environment. >> Video Standard: 50 Hz and 60 Hz are selectable. Choose an option according to the different video standards: normally 50 Hz is selected for the PAL standard and 60 Hz for the NTSC standard. >> Capture Mode: It is the selectable video input mode to meet the different demands of the field of view and the resolution. >> Lens Distortion Correction: (On cameras which support this function) Can correct the distorted image caused by a wide-angle lens, if turned on. > Other: Video output may vary per camera model. Some of the cameras support CVBS, SDI, or HDMI output. Refer to the actual camera model for details. >> Local Output: Select ON to enable analogue video output via the BNC connector on the back panel of the camera. English 52

55 Text Overlay You can customise the camera name and time on the screen. 1. Enter the OSD Settings interface: Video> Text Overlay 2. Check the corresponding checkbox to select the display of camera name, date or week if required. 3. Edit the camera name in the text field of Camera Name. 4. Select from the drop-down list to set the time format, date format, display mode and the OSD font size. 5. Define the font colour of the OSD by clicking on the drop-down list: "Black & White Self-adaptive" and "Custom" are selectable. 6. You can choose "Align Left", "Align Right" and "Custom". If you select "Custom", you can use the mouse to click and drag the text frame, eg. Camera 01 (in a box), in the live view window to adjust the OSD position. 7. Check the checkbox in front of one textbox with a number after the box (1) to enable the on-screen display. 8. Input the characters in the textbox. 9. (Optional) Use the mouse to click and drag the red text frame in the live view window to adjust the text overlay position. 10. Click on Save to save the settings. 11. 56 Picture Overlay The Picture Overlay enables you to overlay a picture on the image. This function enables a certain enterprise or users to overlay their logo on the image. 1. Enter the Picture Overlay Settings interface: Video> Picture Overlay. 2. Click on "Browse" to select a picture. 3. Click on "Upload" to upload it. 4. Check the "Enable Picture Overlay" checkbox to enable the function. 5. Set the "X Coordinate" and "Y Coordinate" values to adjust the picture position on the image. Adjust the "Picture Width" and "Picture Height" to the desired size. 6. Click on "Save" to save the settings. NOTE: The picture must be in RGB24 bmp format and the maximum picture size is 128*128. 57 Privacy Mask The function Privacy Mask enables you to cover certain areas on the live video to prevent certain spots in the surveillance area from being live viewed and recorded. 1. Enter the Privacy Mask Settings interface: Video> Privacy Mask 2. Check the checkbox of Enable Privacy Mask to enable this function. 3. Click on Draw Area. 4. Click and drag the mouse in the live video window to draw the mask area. NOTE: You are allowed to draw up to 4 areas on the same image. 5. Click on Stop Drawing to finish drawing or click on Clear All to clear all of the areas you set without saving them. 6. Click on "Add" to add the area to the list. 7. 58 ROI ROI (Region of Interest) encoding helps to discriminate the ROI and background information in video compression, which means, the technology assigns more encoding resources to the region of interest, this happens to increase the quality of the ROI whereas the background information is less focused. NOTE: The ROI function varies according to different camera models. Configuring the Fixed Region for the ROI: 1. Enter the ROI settings interface: Video> ROI 2. Check the checkbox of Enable under Fixed Region. 3. Select the Stream Type for the ROI encoding. 4. For these camera models, only one "Region No." is selectable. 5. Click on the Draw Area button, and then click-and-drag the mouse to draw the region of interest in the live video. 6. Select the ROI Level to set the image quality enhancing level. The larger the value is, the better the image quality will be. 7. Input the Region Name for the ROI as desired. 8. Click on Save to save the settings. English 56

59 Target Cropping You can specify a target area on the live video, and then the specified video area can be displayed via the third stream in certain resolution, providing more details of the target area if needed. NOTE: The Target Cropping function varies depending on the different camera models. 1. Enter the Target Cropping settings interface. 2. Check the "Enable Target Cropping" checkbox to enable the function. 3. Set "Third Stream" as the "Stream Type". 4. Select the cropping resolution for the video display of the target area. A red rectangle is displayed on the live video to mark the target area, and you can click-and-drag the rectangle to locate the target area as desired. 5. Click on "Save" to save the settings Events Settings This section explains how to configure the network camera to respond to basic events, including motion detection, video tampering, exception, line crossing and intrusion detection. These events can trigger the linkage methods, such as the Notify IP Server, Send , etc. NOTE: Check the checkbox of Notify IP Server if you want the alarm information to be pushed to a PC or a mobile client software as soon as the alarm is triggered. 57 English

60 Motion Detection The Motion Detection detects the moving objects in the configured surveillance area, and a series of actions can be taken when the alarm is triggered. In order to detect the moving objects accurately and reduce the false alarm rate, normal configuration and expert configuration are selectable for different motion detection environments. - Normal Configuration: The Normal Configuration adopts the same set of motion detection parameters in the daytime and at night. Tasks: 1. Set the Motion Detection Area. (1) Enter the motion detection settings interface: Events> Motion Detection (2) Check the checkbox of Enable Motion Detection. (3) Check the checkbox of Enable Dynamic Analysis for Motion if you want to mark the detected objects with green rectangles. NOTE: Select Disable for rules if you do not want the detected objected displayed with the rectangles. Select Disable from System> Local Configuration> Rules. English 58

61 (4) Click on Draw Area. Click and drag the mouse on the live video to draw a motion detection area. (5) Click on Stop Drawing to finish the drawing of one area. (6) (Optional) Click on Clear All to clear all of the areas. (7) (Optional) Move the slider to set the sensitivity of the detection. 2. Set the Arming Schedule for Motion Detection. (1) Click on Arming Schedule to edit the arming schedule. The picture above shows the editing interface of the arming schedule. (2) Choose the day you want to set the arming schedule for. (3) Click on the time bar and drag the mouse to select the time period. When you click on the selected time period, you can adjust the time period to the desired time by either moving the time bar or input the exact time period. (4) (Optional) After you set the arming schedule, you can copy the schedule to other days. When you move the mouse to the end of each day and click on the "(documents)" symbol, a copy dialogue box pops up. Then you can copy the current settings to other days. (5) Click on Save to save the settings. NOTE: The time of each period cannot be overlapped. Up to 8 periods can be configured for each day. 3. Set the Linkage Method for Motion Detection. Check a checkbox to select the linkage method. You can specify here the linkage method that should be used when an event occurs. Notify Surveillance Center, Send , Upload to FTP, Trigger Alarm Output and Trigger channel are selectable. 59 English

62 > Notify Surveillance Center: Send an exception or alarm signal to the remote management software (SCMS) when an event occurs. > Send Send an with alarm information to a user or users when an event occurs. NOTE: To send the when an event occurs, you need to refer to Section Settings to set the related parameters. > Upload to FTP: Capture the image when an alarm is triggered and upload the picture to an FTP server. NOTE: - Set the FTP address and the remote FTP server first. Refer to Section FTP for detailed information. - Go to the Storage> Snapshot page, enable the event-triggered snapshot, and set the capture interval and capture number. - The captured image can also be uploaded to the available SD card or network disk. > Trigger Channel: The video will be recorded when the motion is detected. You have to set the recording schedule to realise this function. Please refer to Section "Record Schedule" for detailed information. > Trigger Alarm Output: Triggers one or more external alarm outputs when an event occurs. Before the output can be triggered, the related settings on the "Alarm Output" tab of the "Events" page (under "Events> Alarm Output") must be correctly and completely configured. - Expert Configuration: Expert mode is mainly used to configure the sensitivity and proportion of the object in relation to the area of each area for each different day/night switch. > Day/Night Switch: OFF (1) Draw the detection area as in normal configuration mode. Up to 8 areas are supported. (2) Select OFF for the Switch Day and Night Settings. (3) Select the area by clicking on the Area No. In the drop-down list under Area. (4) Slide the cursor to adjust the sensitivity and proportion of the object in relation to the area for the selected area. (5) Set the arming schedule and linkage method as in the normal configuration mode. (6) Click on Save to save the settings. > Day/Night Switch: Auto-Switch (1) Draw the detection area as in normal configuration mode. Up to 8 areas are supported. (2) Select Auto-Switch for the Switch Day and Night Settings. (3) Select the area by clicking on the Area No. In the drop-down list under Area. (4) Slide the cursor to adjust the sensitivity and proportion of the object in relation to the area for the selected area in daytime under Day. (5) Slide the cursor to adjust the sensitivity and proportion of the object in relation to the area for the selected area at nighttime under Night. (6) Set the arming schedule and linkage method as in normal configuration mode. (7) Click on Save to save the settings. > Day/Night Switch: Scheduled-Switch (1) Draw the detection area as in normal configuration mode. Up to 8 areas are supported. Enter the Video Tampering Settings interface: Events> Video Tampering 2. Check the Enable checkbox to enable the Video Tampering Detection. 3. Click on Arming Schedule to edit the arming schedule for the video tampering. The arming schedule configuration is the same as the setting of the arming schedule for motion detection. Refer to Task 2 ( 2. Set the Arming Schedule for Motion Detection. ) in Section "Motion Detection". 4. Check the checkbox to select the linkage method to be taken for the video tampering. The "Delay" time can be set to 5sec, 10sec, 30sec, 1min, 2min, 5min, 10min or Manual. The delay time refers to the time duration that the alarm output remains in effect after the alarm occurs. 4. Click on "Arming Schedule" to enter the "Edit Schedule Time" interface. The time schedule configuration is the same as the settings of the arming schedule for Motion Detection. 67 Audio Exception Detection The Audio Exception Detection function detects the abnormal sounds in the surveillance scene, such as a sudden increase/decrease of the sound intensity, and specified actions can be taken when the alarm is triggered. NOTE: The Audio Exception Detection function varies depending on the different camera models. 1. Enter the Audio Exception Detection settings interface: Events> Audio Exception Detection. 2. Check the checkbox of "Audio Loss Detection" to enable the audio loss detection function. 3. Check the checkbox of "Sudden Increase of Sound Intensity Detection" to detect the sound steep rise in the surveillance scene. You can set the detection sensitivity and threshold for sound steep rise. 4. Check the checkbox of "Sudden Decrease of Sound Intensity Detection" to detect the sound steep drop in the surveillance scene. You can set the detection sensitivity and threshold for the sound steep drop. - Sensitivity: Range [1-100]. The smaller the value is, the more severe the change should be to trigger the detection. - Sound Intensity Threshold: Range [1-100]. It can filter the sound in the environment, the louder the environment sound, the higher the value should be. You can adjust it according to the real environment. NOTE: You can view the "Real-time Volume" of the sound on the interface. 5. Click on "Arming Schedule" to set the arming schedule. Refer to Task 2 Set the "Arming Schedule" for Motion Detection in Section for detailed steps. 6. Click on "Linkage Method" and select the linkage methods for the audio exception, including "Notify Surveillance Center", "Send ", "Upload to FTP/Memory Card/NAS", "Trigger Channel" for recording and "Trigger Alarm Output". 7. 68 Defocus Detection The Defocus Detection function can detect an image blur caused by a defocus of the lens, and specified actions can be taken when the alarm is triggered. NOTE: The Defocus Detection function varies depending on the different camera models. 1. Enter the Defocus Detection settings interface: Events> Defocus Detection. 2. Check the checkbox of "Enable" to enable the function. 3. Click-and-drag the slider to set the detection "Sensitivity". The sensitivity value ranges from 1 to 100, and the higher the value is, the more easily the defocus image can trigger the alarm. 4. Select the linkage methods for defocus, including "Notify Surveillance Center", "Send " and "Trigger Alarm Output". 5. Click on "Save" to save the settings. English 66

70 Face Detection The Face Detection function detects when a face appears in the surveillance scene, and specified actions can be taken when the alarm is triggered. 1. Enter the Face Detection settings interface: Events> Face Detection. 2. Check the "Enable Face Detection" checkbox to enable the function. 3. If you check the checkbox of "Enable Dynamic Analysis for Face Detection", the detected face will be marked with a green rectangle on the live video. NOTE: To mark the detected face on the live video, go to System> Local Configuration> Rules to enable the Rules. 4. Click-and-drag the slider to set the detection "Sensitivity". The "Sensitivity" ranges from 1 to 5. The higher the value is, the more easily the face can be detected. 5. Click on "Arming Schedule" to set the arming schedule. 71 Line Crossing Detection The Line crossing detection function detects people, vehicles or other objects which cross a pre-defined virtual line, and certain actions can be taken when the alarm is triggered. 1. Enter the Line Crossing Detection settings interface: Events> Line Crossing Detection 2. Check the checkbox of Enable to enable this function. 3. For these camera models, only one line is available. 4. If you click on the Draw Area button, a virtual line will be displayed on the live video. 5. If you click-and-drag the line, you can locate it on the live video as desired. If you click on the line, two red squares will be displayed on each end, and you can click-and-drag one of the red squares to define the shape and length of the line. 6. Select the direction for the Line crossing detection. You can select the directions as A<->B, A ->B, and B->A. - A<->B: An object going across the plane with both direction can be detected and the alarms are triggered. - A->B: Only the object crossing the configured line from the A side to the B side can be detected. - B->A: Only the object crossing the configured line from the B side to the A side can be detected. 7. Click-and-drag the slider to set the detection sensitivity. Sensitivity: Range [1-100]. The higher the value is, the more easily the line crossing action can be detected. 8. You can click on the Clear button to clear the pre-defined line. 9. Click on the Arming Schedule tab to set the arming schedule. 10. Select the linkage methods for the Line crossing detection, including Notify Surveillance Center, Send , Upload to FTP, Trigger Alarm Output and Trigger Channel. 11. 72 Region Entrance Detection The Region Entrance Detection function detects people, vehicles or other objects which enter a pre-defined virtual region from an outside place, and specified actions can be taken when the alarm is triggered. 1. Enter the Region Entrance Detection settings interface: Events> Region Entrance Detection. 2. Check the "Enable" checkbox to enable the function. 3. Select the Region from the drop-down list for the detection settings. 4. Click on "Area Settings" and click on the "Draw Area" button to start the area drawing. 5. Click on the live video to specify the four vertexes of the detection region, and right-click to complete drawing. 6. Click-and-drag the slider to set the detection sensitivity. - Sensitivity: Range [1-100]. The value of the sensitivity defines the size of the object which can trigger the alarm. When the sensitivity is high, a very small object entering the region can trigger the alarm. 7. Repeat the above steps to configure other regions. Up to 4 regions can be set. You can click on the "Clear" button to clear all pre-defined regions. 8. Click on "Arming Schedule" to set the arming schedule. 9. Click on "Linkage Method" to select the linkage methods. 10. 74 Unattended Baggage Detection The Unattended Baggage Detection function detects the objects left over in the pre-defined region such as baggage, purses, dangerous materials, etc. A series of actions can be taken when the alarm is triggered. 1. Enter the Unattended Baggage Detection settings interface: Events> Unattended Baggage Detection. 2. Check the "Enable" checkbox to enable the function. 3. Select the "Region" from the drop-down list for the detection settings. 4. Click on "Area Settings" and click on "Draw Area" to start the area drawing. 5. Click on the live video to specify the four vertexes of the detection region, and right-click to complete drawing. 6. Set the time threshold and detection sensitivity for the Unattended Baggage Detection. - Threshold: Range [5-20s]. This is the threshold for the time of the objects left over in the region. If you set the value as 10, an alarm is triggered after the object is left and stays in the region for 10s. - Sensitivity: Range [1-100]. The value of the sensitivity defines the similarity degree of the background image. Usually, when the sensitivity is high, a very small object left in the region can trigger the alarm. 7. Repeat the above steps to configure other regions. Up to 4 regions can be set. You can click the "Clear" button to clear all pre-defined regions. 8. Select the "Region" from the drop-down list for the detection settings. 4. Click on "Area Settings" and click on the "Draw Area" button to start the area drawing. 5. Click on the live video to specify the four vertexes of the detection region, and right-click to complete the drawing. 6. 76 Counting The Counting function helps to calculate the number of people entered or exited a certain configured area and is widely applied at entrances or exits. NOTE: It is recommended to install the camera as right above the entrance/exit as possible, and make sure it is horizontal to improve the counting accuracy. 1. 77 2. Check the "Enable Counting" checkbox to enable the function. 3. (Optional) Check the "Enable OSD Overlay" checkbox, and the real-time number of people entered and exited will be displayed on the live video. 4. Click on the "Draw Line" button (see the table for definition of the symbols). A detection line appears in the centre of the image. 5. Drag the line to adjust ist position. 6. Drag the sizing handles to resize/rotate the line. The detection line should cover the entire entrance/exit. With the line selected, an arrow indicates the direction of people entering. 7. (Optional) To change the direction, click on the "Change Direction" button. 8. (Optional) To reset the the counters in the OSD, click on the "Reset Counter". When you click on the "Reset Counter" button, the number of the people entered and exited will be cleared to zero. 9.Click on "Arming Schedule" to enter the arming schedule interface, and click-and-drag the mouse on the time bar to set the time. 7. Check on the "Linkage Method" tab to select the linkage method/the required action. You can send an exception or alarm signal to a remote management software when an event occurs, choose "Notify Surveillance Center" to do this. 8. Click on "Save" to save the settings. NOTE: The counting statistics will be calculated under the "Events> Counting Statistics" tab (see the explanation in the next chapter). 75 English

78 Counting Statistics After you have enabled the Counting function, you can view and download the counting data under the "Events> Counting Statistics" tab. To get more intuitional results, you can display the data in different charts. 1. Select the "Report Type". "Daily Report", "Weekly Report", "Monthly Report", and "Annual Report" are selectable. NOTE: The daily report calculates the data on the date you selected; the weekly report calculates for the week your selected date belongs to; monthly report calculates for the month your selected date belongs to; and the annual report calculates for the year your selected date belongs to. 2. Select the "Statistics Type". "People Entered" and "People Exited" are selectable. 3. Select the "Start Time" and click on "Counting" to list the heat map data. 4. Select "Table", "Bar Chart", or "Line Chart" to display the results. If you select a "Table" to list the statistics, there will be an "Export" button to export the data into an excel file. 79 Intrusion Detection The Intrusion detection function detects people, vehicles or other objects which enter and loiter in a pre-defined virtual region, and certain actions can be taken when the alarm is triggered. NOTE: The Intrusion detection function varies according to the different camera models. 1. Enter the Intrusion Detection settings interface: Events> Intrusion Detection 2. Check the checkbox of Enable Intrusion Detection to enable this function. 3. For these camera models, only one region is available. 4. Click on the Draw Area button to start the region drawing. 5. Click on the live video to specify the four vertexes of the detection region, and right-click to complete the drawing. 6. Set the time "Threshold", detection "Sensitivity" and object "Percentage" for the Intrusion Detection. - Threshold: Range [0s-10s]. This is the threshold for the time of the object loitering in the region. If you set the value as 0, the alarm will be triggered immediately after the object has entered the region. - Sensitivity: Range [1-100]. This value of the sensitivity defines the size of the object which can trigger the alarm. When the sensitivity is high, a very small object can trigger the alarm. - Percentage: Range [1-100]. This Percentage defines the ratio of the in-region part of the object which can trigger the alarm. For example, if the percentage is set as 50%, when the object enters the region and occupies half of the whole region, the alarm is triggered. 7. You can click on the Clear button to clear tha pre-defined region. 8. Click on the Arming Schedule tab to set the arming schedule. 9. Select the linkage methods for Intrusion detection, including Notify Surveillance Center, Send , Upload to FTP, Trigger Alarm Output and Trigger Channel. 10. Storage Settings Before you start: To configure the record settings, please make sure that you have the network storage device in the network or the SD card inserted into your camera HDD Management Here you can view the HDD Management settings, like the HDD Device List (which includes the capacity, free space, status, type and property of the connected HDD) and the Quota settings. 81 Record Schedule There are two kinds of recording for the cameras: Manual Recording and Scheduled Recording. For the manual recording, refer to Section 6.2 Manual Recording & Snapshots. In this section, you can follow the instructions to configure the scheduled recording. By default, the record files of the scheduled recording are stored in the SD card (if supported) or in the network disk. 1. Enter the Record Schedule Settings interface: Storage> Record Schedule 2. Check the checkbox of Enable to enable the scheduled recording. 3. Click on Advanced to set the camera record parameters. 79 English

82 - Pre-record: The time you set to start recording before the scheduled time or the event. For example, if an alarm triggers the recording at 10:00, and the pre-record time is set as 5 seconds, the camera starts to record at 9:59:55. The Pre-record time can be configured as No Pre-record, 5 s, 10 s, 15 s, 20 s, 25 s, 30 s or not limited. - Post-record: The time you set to stop recording after the scheduled time or the event. For example, if an alarm triggered recording ends at 11:00, and the post-record time is set as 5 seconds, the camera records until 11:00:05. The Post-record time can be configured as 5 s, 10 s, 30 s, 1 min, 2 min, 5 min or 10 min. NOTE: The record parameter configurations vary depending on the camera model. 4. Now you can edit the record schedule. 5. Choose the day to set the record schedule. (1) Set all-day record or segment record: Click on the time bar and drag the mouse to select the time period. When you click on the selected time period, you can adjust the time period to the desired time by either moving the time bar or input the exact time period. NOTE: The time of each segment cannot be overlapped. Up to 4 segments can be configured. (2) Select a Record Type. The record type can be Continuous, Motion Detection, and others. > Continuous: If you select Continuous, the video will be recorded automatically according to the time of the schedule. > Motion Detection: If you select Motion Detection, the video will be recorded when the motion is detected. Besides configuring the recording schedule, you have to set the motion detection area and check the checkbox of Trigger Channel in the Linkage Method of the Motion Detection Settings interface. For detailed information, please refer to Task 1 ( 1. Set the Motion Detection Area. ) in Section "Motion Detection". > Event: If you select "Event", the video will be recorded if any of the events is triggered. Besides configuring the recording schedule, you have to configure the event settings. (3) When you move the mouse to the end of each day and click on the "(documents)" symbol, a copy dialogue box pops up. Then you can copy the current settings to other days. 6. Click on Save to save the settings. English 80

83 Capture You can configure the scheduled snapshot and the event-triggered snapshot. The captured picture can be stored on the SD card (if supported) or the nethdd (for detailed information about the nethdd, please refer to Section Net HDD ). You can also upload the captured pictures to a FTP server. Basic Settings: 1. Enter the Snapshot Settings interface: Storage> Capture 2. Check the Enable Timing Snapshot checkbox under the Capture Parameters tab to enable the continuous capture. Check the Enable Event-triggered Snapshot checkbox in the FTP settings (under Network > FTP) to activate the event-triggered snapshot. 3. Select the quality of the snapshot. 4. Set the time interval between two snapshots. 5. Click on Save to save the settings. 81 English

84 Uploading to FTP: You can follow the configuration instructions below to upload the snapshots to the FTP. - Upload the continuous snapshots to the FTP: 1) Configure the FTP settings and check the Upload Picture checkbox in the FTP Settings interface. Please refer to Section FTP for more details to configure the FTP parameters. 2) Check the Enable Timing Snapshot checkbox in the "Storage" > "Capture" interface. - Upload the event-triggered snapshots to the FTP: 1) Configure the FTP settings and check the Upload Picture checkbox in the FTP Settings interface. Please refer to Section FTP for more details to configure the FTP parameters. 2) Check the Upload Picture checkbox in the Motion Detection Settings or the Alarm Input interface. Please refer to Task 3 ( 3. Set the Alarm Actions for Motion Detection. ) in Section "Motion Detection". 3) Check the Enable Event-triggered Snapshot checkbox in the FTP settings Net HDD Before you start: The network disk should be available within the network and properly configured to store the recorded files, log files, etc. 1. To add the network disk: (1) Enter the Net HDD Settings interface: Storage> Net HDD (2) Enter the IP address of the network disk, and enter the file path. (3) Select the mounting type. NFS and SMB/CIFS are selectable. And you can set the user name and password to guarantee the security if SMB/CIFS is selected. NOTE: Please refer to the User Manual of the Network HDD (NAS) for creating the file path. English 82

85 ATTENTION: - For your privacy and to better protect your system against security risks, we strongly recommend the use of strong passwords for all functions and network devices. The password should be something of your own choosing (using a minimum of 8 characters, including at least three of the following categories: upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers and special characters) in order to increase the security of your product. - Proper configuration of all passwords and other security settings is the responsibility of the installer and/or enduser. (4) Click on Save to add the network disk. 2. Initialise (=format) the added network disk: (1) Enter the HDD Settings interface (Storage> HDD Management), in which you can view the capacity, free space, status, type and property of the disk. (2) If the status of the disk is Uninitialised, check the corresponding checkbox to select the disk and click on Format to start formatting the disk. When the formatting is completed, the status of disk will change to Normal. 3. Define the quota for the recording and the pictures: (1) Input the quota percentage for the picture and for the recording. (2) Click on Save and refresh the browser page to activate the settings. 83 English

87 9. SCMS Software Introduction Description of the SCMS: SCMS (Search Control Management Software) is a user-friendly and installation-free online device search tool. It searches the active online devices within your subnet and displays the information of the devices. You can also modify the basic network information of the devices using this software. You can see the start page / control panel of the SCMS below. Search any active devices online: - Search online devices automatically: After launching the SCMS software, it automatically searches the online devices every 15 seconds from the subnet where your computer is located. It displays the total number and information of the searched devices in the Online Devices interface. The device information including the device type, IP address and port number, etc. will be displayed. 85 English

88 NOTE: A device can be searched and displayed in the list 15 seconds after it went online. It will be removed from the list 45 seconds after it went offline. - Search online devices manually: You can also click on the Refresh button to refresh the online device list manually. The newly searched devices will be added to the list. NOTE: You can click on /\ and \/ or in each column heading to order the information; you can click on > to expand the device table and hide the network parameter panel on the right side, or click on < to show the network parameter panel. Modify the network parameters: 1. Select the device to be modified in the device list and the network parameters of the device will be displayed in the Modify Network Parameters panel on the right side. 2. Edit the modifiable network parameters, e.g. IP address and port number. 3. Enter the password of the admin account of the device in the Password field and click on Save to save the changes. 89 2. Set the LAN parameters of the router as in the following figure, including the IP address and the subnet mask settings. 3. Set the port mapping in the virtual severs under Forwarding. By default, the camera uses port 80, 8000 and 554. You can change these ports value with the web browser or SCMS software. Example: When the cameras are connected to the same router, you can set the ports of a camera as 80, 8000, and 554 with the IP address , and the ports of another camera as 81, 8001, 555, 8201 with the IP Please refer to the steps below: 1. As the settings mentioned above, please map the port 80, 8000, 554 and 8200 for the network camera at Map the port 81, 8001, 555 and 8201 for the network camera at Enable ALL or TCP protocols. 4. Check the Enable checkbox and click on Save to save the settings. NOTE: The port of the network camera cannot conflict with other ports.
