1 In order to successfully use My Remote for VPN access, you will need the following: Internet Connection Internet Explorer 8 or higher Netscaler Gateway Plug-in (The correct version will download at your first login.) A VIP token registered to your account To access My Remote 1. Open Internet Explorer 2. Browse to o Username: enter your UMMS Username o Password: enter your UMMS password o PUSH or Sec Code: enter the word PUSH or the security code shown on your VIP token If you use PUSH, accept the login request on your mobile device o Click Log On 3. You will be prompted to choose the type of access you want to use o For full VPN access, click on Network Access o For application only access, click on Virtual App and Desktop Access 4. 2 5. If the Citrix Netscaler Gateway Plug-In (VPN Client) is installed, the client will begin connecting.. 6. You will briefly see the below message above your system tray (above your clock on your taskbar) 7. Your home hospital s intranet site will display when the connection is complete. The example below is the UMMC site. NOTE: If the site is not behaving as expected, please verify that the site is in your trusted sites and is being viewed in compatibility mode. Details on how to do this are on following pages. 3 Downloading and Installing the VPN Client If you have never used the VPN before, you will be prompted to download the client. Follow the prompts as shown below to run the installation. 5 Logging Off: From Netscaler Gateway: o To log off from the Netscaler Gateway right-click the Netscaler Gateway icon in the notification area and click Logoff. You will be asked for logoff confirmation. Logoff confirmation o To exit the Netscaler Gateway Application: When you logoff a session, the session ends and the Netscaler Gateway icon remains in the notification area. 7 Determining your version of Internet Explorer Should you need to contact Help Desk for support, they will need to know what Internet Explorer you are using. To find out what version you are running: Open Internet Explorer From the menu at the top, choose Help, then About Internet Explorer NOTE: If the menu is not at the top, Hold down the ALT Key and hit the F key at the same time. This will bring up a menu at the top of the screen, below the address bar Once you have chosen About Internet Explorer, a screen will come up showing the version you are running. Here is an example: This is the main version number, which is needed for support calls. Below are the extended version number and the update version, which may be asked for in the case more advanced troubleshooting is necessary. 8 Trusted Sites: Follow the below instructions to add the My Access site to trusted sites in Internet Explorer Open Internet Explorer From the menu at the top, choose Tools, then Internet Options NOTE: If the menu is not at the top, Hold down the ALT Key and hit the F key at the same time. 10 Compatibility View: Follow the below instructions to set the My Access site to be viewed in Compatiblity View in Internet Explorer. Open Internet Explorer From the menu at the top, choose Tools, then Internet Options NOTE: If the menu is not at the top, Hold down the ALT Key and hit the F key at the same time.
