1 1 Installing the Kurzweil 3000 Web License From the WEBSITE Go to the following website: and download the Kurzweil 3000 Version 14 Web License Installer. You must save the installer to your desktop, so after you click on the Kurzweil 3000 Web License to Go link, click on the Save File button. Please note: It will take a very long time if you are using a wireless network. It is much faster to download the installer on a wired network.

2 2 1. Once you save the Kurzweil 3000 installer (.exe for PC) onto your computer s desktop, double-click it, and then follow the directions below to extract the files onto your desktop. 3. Click on the Install Web Licensing Software button.

3 3 Please Note: At this time, the Kurzweil program will check your Windows Operating system to see if any updates are needed before you can install the program. If so, install those updates, restart your computer, then you can begin the Kurzweil install again. For example, you might see the update below: Once your computer has determined when it is ready for the Kurzweil install wizard, you need to click on the Install button. 4. Click on the Install Web Licensing Software button.

4 4 5. The Kurzweil 3000 v.14 InstallShield Wizard will begin. Click Next. 6. Click on the option button next to the I accept the terms of the license agreement and select Next. You can keep the Default User Name as Gavilan User, click Next. Keep the setup type as Complete and click Next.

5 5 7. Once the installation is finished, click on Finish & Click Yes to restart your computer. 8. Your Kurzweil 3000 program icon will be on your desktop so double-click to open the program. You will be asked to log in with your username and password.

6 6 9. Your program should work just like it does when you use it in our High Tech Center lab. It is a different version, so it may have many new features. It has the full scanning feature, so you can convert your own handouts. 10. If you want to use the classic interface like we do in our High Tech Center, just click on the Back to the classic Kurzweil 3000 interface link at the bottom of the window: And then login again and your Kurzweil Web licensing software will open up like the classic view below:

7 7 You can always return to the new interface by clicking on the Back to the new Interface link on the Kurzweil 3000 menu bar. 10. Click on the Web icon and make sure you install the Kesi plug-in with the Firefox browser so you can Read the Web. PLEASE NOTE: You will also notice that two other icons are showing up on your desktop. These icons are necessary for exporting your Kurzweil 3000 files into an audio file or MP3. If you are interested in learning how to make MP3s, please come back to the High Tech Center for more training. If you do not want any audio files, it is ok to delete these two folders off of your desktop. Once the program install is completed, you can delete the installer and the temporary folder from your desktop. Good luck with your installation.
