1 Metalogix Essentials for Office March 2019 These release notes provide information about the Metalogix Essentials for Office 365 release. 3 Version This version of introduces the following features: Hyper Backup for SharePoint Online Site and OneDrive. New backup platform with better performance and faster backup that will help you to save your content fast and easy Hyper Backup Tab for SharePoint Online Site and OneDrive. The new tab on Backup will show you the current state of backup or restore individually by user or site and will help to track activity when creating new backup projects. Pause and Resume actions for Hyper Backup for SharePoint Online Site and OneDrive. Option Pause/Resume will allow users to pause backup or restore and proceed from the place where it was paused, helping users save time and resources when creating new backup projects. Creating recurring scheduled jobs for Hyper Backup projects. Added functionality which allows users to create recurring scheduled jobs when updating Hyper Backup projects. Hyper Migration Permissions Compare. Improved logic for permissions migration which will compare permissions on the source parent object with permissions on the source child object. When permissions are different then the tool will break object permission inheritance on the target and preserves the unique permissions for the target in order to prevent permissions from being inherited from the parent object. This will help to prevent permissions throttling problems on Office 365 locations. Intelligent permissions migration for Hyper Migration. Improved logic for permissions migration, it will now compare permissions on the source parent object with the source child object. When permissions are different, the tool breaks the object permission's inheritance on the target and preserves the unique permissions on the target, in order to prevent the permissions from being inherited from the parent object. This will help to prevent permissions throttling problems on Office 365 locations. Resolved issue with Announcements list views copy between SharePoint Locations Resolved the issue with memory allocation Resolved issue with publishing sites on Non-English sites when creating new hyper backup Resolved issue with orphaned users in "Created By" and "Modified By" fields when creating and updating Hyper Backup Project

4 Version The following is a list of items addressed in this release. Report for Hyper Migration. Added EXCEL Report functionality on Hyper Migration Tab to export summary info (number of files and folder, number of skipped because of ownership content, number of skipped because of size, size, and duration) per each user from the tab. This functionality will help you collect info from various Essentials instances and share it with your colleagues. New functionality will add Farm Admin to My Sites Site Collection Administrators for getting full permissions on source On-premise environment which will allow You to do full Mass Copy from On-premises My Sites to Cloud Office 365 OneDrives Version The following is a list of items addressed in this release. Auto Refresh Post Migration Logs for Hyper Migration. New functionality Refresh Azure Logs Policy allows the user to set schedule for refreshing logs when Hyper Migration via Azure Turbo Asynchronous Mode was used. Now you can not only manually on demand refresh post migration logs for migrated users but make automatization for this. Simply set up this setting and you can get all finished jobs (jobs In Progress state would not be updated) refreshed at your end of the day to get day summary. To enable auto refresh post migration logs, use button Refresh Azure Logs Policy on Hyper Migration Tab to open dialog and configure this functionality. You can set one or two values for every daily occurring time set for the automatic refresh. 4

5 Improvements for My Sites to OneDrive Mass Copy. The newly improved logic of migration will help to save original My Site Administrators for My Sites to OneDrive Mass Copy. At the same time, new logic gives full permissions and access to all required connections to move content from On-Prem My Sites to Cloud Office 365 One Drives Improved Offline Activation. New Offline Activation process will help to avoid Windows Security problem when opening new browser session by tools are blocked. The new procedure will help to easy copy and open all required link manually and actuate tool. Version The following is a list of items addressed in this release. File Level Permissions in Hyper Migration. Added functionality to copy only Folder Level Permissions for content by default from non-sharepoint locations (Box, Drobox, File Share and Google Drive) to Office 365 locations using Hyper Migration. You would need to enable File Level permissions in migration profiles to copy them. Version The following is a list of items addressed in this release. Proxy button for Hyper Migration. Added Proxy Mode button for authentication that uses certain types of proxy settings when using Hyper Migration The issue with source site collection owners when mass copying My Sites to OneDrive s Version The following is a list of items addressed in this release. Non-English Office 365 Tenants for Hyper Migration. Added support for Non-English Office 365 Tenants as target for Hyper Migration Shared with User Column for Shared with Me. Added support for automatic creation Shared with User Column on OneDrive sites when Documents library doesn't have it. This will help to preserve "Shared with Me" info when doing migration in Hyper Migration using Azure Turbo mode. 5

Added search option and columns sorting on Azure Turbo Queue window will help you easily find the Azure job for check status. Support for Specific Google Environment. Added support for google environment with not stable versions retrieving to be migrated with Microsoft Migration API (Azure Turbo) CreatedAt timestamp for files with same names but diverse types on Google Drive. Google Drive planform supports possibility having files with same names but diverse types: Office files and Google files. Essential tool will convert Google files to Office file and add CreatedAt timestamp to file names if they will same name and extension on Office 365 location. The issue with permissions for owner user when copying content form Box to Office 365 locations for Hyper Migration The issue with renamed Documents library when copying site as new site from SharePoint 2013 to O Version Default User for Hyper Migration. Added support for using Default User from Global Variables Hyper Migration mode. It will give the ability to set default user account to required Modified by and Created by if source account is not found on the target. Tagging files with Azure Turbo. Added ability to change metadata for the file when using direct migration with Azure Turbo Mode. CreatedAt timestamp for files with same names on Google Drive. Google Drive planform supports possibility having files with same names and extensions. Essential tool will add CreatedAt timestamp to file names after migration to Office 365 location to avoid skipping content. 7

8 Invalid Character functionality does not case sensitive. The logic will help to avoid the problem with invalid characters not depending on the case. The issue with missing required metadata in Core Properties when copying content from Google to Office 365 locations for Hyper Migration The issue with Box Groups permissions when copying content from Box to O365 directly Version Hyper Migration for mass copying content from Google to Office 365. Added support for Google as the source to Hyper Migration mode. It will give fast migration that will help you to move fast your content to Office 365. Automatic refresh of Hyper Migration Tab. Hyper Migration Tab will be automatically refreshed when content migration job state changes. It makes status tracking on hyper Migration Tab easier. Removing not started record. Now you can easily remove user record form Hyper Migration tab if migration is not started. State Finished with problems for record in Hyper Migration Tab. The new state will help to identify jobs that were finished but have some problems like lost connection, lack of permissions etc. From the detailed post-migration reports you can find the description of the problem, solve it and resume job to finished migration. 10 Version Improved Durations on Progress Bar for Hyper Migration. Added seconds timer will show more info about current activity in running migration. Not Terminated State for Hyper Migration Jobs. New status Not Terminated will identify which jobs were not finished because of workstation problem (power down in office, not planned reboot etc.) These jobs will have migration log and you can easily resume them. The issue with version order for certain Box environments when copying content directly from Box project to OneDrive for Business or SharePoint Online Sites projects Version Individual permissions record in Post-Migration Log Permissions for Hyper Migration. Now Hyper Migration platform has functionality for display permissions records for each account and group individually with detailed messages in Post Migration logs Support for Office 365 Tenant with many domains for Hyper Migration. Now Hyper Migration platform supports functionality for Office 365 Tenants with many domains Optimized work with verification for users on DropBox environments with the sizeable number of users when starting Hyper Migration Job. As such, available system memory is the most critical parameter for optimal performance. In addition we currently offer the products in both 32-bit and 64-bit formats. Product Version: 32-bit - 1 GB of RAM (default); 64-bit - 3GB+ of RAM. To increase memory, start and go to Help > Profile Manager > Memory Management. Processor: Dual Core or higher processor Operating System: Windows 8 or higher; Mac OS X 10.5 or higher, Windows Server 2008 or higher. 11

12 Workstation/Server: Many customers install the application on Virtual platforms, which is fine. When possible we recommend using a Workstation O/S over Server O/S to reduce unnecessary overhead. Connectivity: We recommend hard-wired network connection over wireless. NOTE: For optimal performance throughout all operations, we recommend installing the 64-bit version of the software and allocating a minimum 2 GB of memory. You can check how much memory has been allocated, and manage the memory allocation by going to Help> Profile Manager> Memory Management within the Essentials Console, once the product has been installed and activated. Product Licensing The following is an overview on how to activate license keys both offline and online, using the Replicator Configuration Wizard. 1. After purchasing Metalogix Essentials, you will receive an with the link to the product download and the activation code to activate the product. If you did not receive such an please contact us: 1. Once installation has been completed, upon starting the Essentials application for the first time, you will be presented with a Registration Screen. Enter your activation code in the allowed space, and select your choice of activation method. For Activate Now proceed to step 2. Go to the following section for instructions on how to Activate Manually (used if you do not have internet access). 12

13 2. The license should appear in the License box and the Activation Status bar should turn green and display "License is Valid". You will also receive a message stating that your License key has been retrieved successfully. Click Ok. 3. After this click the Close button and proceed to the product. 14 1. Once installation has been completed, upon starting the Essentials application for the first time, you will be presented with a Registration Screen. Enter your activation code in the allotted space, and select to Activate Manually. 2. You will be presented with a window that details the instructions on how to obtain your license manually in the case that the machine on which Essentials has been installed does not have access to the internet. 3. As is displayed in the above screen shot, upon clicking Ok, your internet browser will be opened, if you do not have access to the internet, then simply copy the URL in the address bar and paste it into the browser of a machine with an active internet connection. This will give you access to your license data. 14

15 4. Select all the license data and copy it, then click Close. 5. Once you have copied the license data, and closed the license data window, you will be redirected to the Offline Activation page. Paste the license data into the area marked Activation Text. Click Activate. 6. If activation was successful you will be redirected to the successful activation page. Here you must either copy the Activation Text. 15

16 7. Return to the Essentials Registration Screen. An Enter License Data window will have opened, paste the activation text here, and select Apply. 8. The license should appear in the License box and the Activation Status bar should turn green and display "License is Valid". Your license has been activated, you may now click Close and use the Essentials console. 16
