1 Student Device Setup Instructions Power on your device by pressing the Power button in the upper right hand side. Either swipe up on the touchscreen or Tap the touchpad to get to the login screen. Click or tap on Other User in the lower Right Hand corner of your screen. Enter your network username and password. Your username will be your last name followed by your first and middle initial. The temporary password will be posted in the room. Select a new password for yourself and sign in. Your new password must be at least 8 characters long, contain upper and lowercase letters, and a number or symbol. This may take several minutes. Did you get a pop up like this? If so, just close it. Setup Hit the start button in the bottom left corner of your screen and select Outlook 2016.

Your email address should be listed in the window. Press Connect. It can take 3-5 minutes for your account to be configured.

Feel free to skip ahead to the OneDrive section while you wait for your setup to complete. A box will appear asking for your password. This is the same password that you set for yourself to sign in. Type your password. Select Remember my credentials and press OK. Uncheck the box for setting up outlook mobile on your phone and press OK.

3 During initial setup you will get a window requesting activation. Enter your address and select Next.

4 On the MyHalo login page, enter your password and press Sign in. No not add your account to Windows. Select Skip for now.

5 Click OK on this window. Your Microsoft Office applications are now activated. Select Accept to acknowledge that your Office products will receive automatic updates.

Before you close your Outlook down, Right Click on the Outlook icon in the taskbar at the bottom of your screen and Click Pin this Program to the Taskbar.

6 Before you close your Outlook down, Right Click on the Outlook icon in the taskbar at the bottom of your screen and Click Pin this Program to the Taskbar. That will keep an icon down there so you can single click it to open it again. You can do this for any program you want to be able to launch from the taskbar.

7 One Drive Setup Open file explorer and expand This PC. You will see a folder called OneDrive Update. Double click the OneDriveSetup application to update your OneDrive client. If you see a security screen next select Run.

Now look in the systray located in the bottom right hand corner of your screen for the onedrive logo. You can expand the tray by clicking the up arrow marked in the picture below. Click on the OneDrive logo and wait for a few seconds.

You should get a pop up screen like the example below. Click sign in. Enter your school email address and click next.

10 You will be redirected to MyHalo sign-in page. Enter your school password and click Sign in. Click Next on the following screen.

11 Select Sync all files and click Next. The next series of windows provide a brief explanation of how to use your OneDrive folder. Feel free to follow along or simply use the arrow button to scroll through.

This is where you should save all your school related files so that they don t get lost if your device is broken.

12 Your OneDrive folder setup is complete. Select Open My OneDrive Folder You will now see a folder called OneDrive - Diocese of Greensburg Schools. This is where you should save all your school related files so that they don t get lost if your device is broken. Anything saved in this folder is automatically uploaded to your OneDrive account in the cloud. You can access your OneDrive account online from any computer by signing in at Portal.office.com.

Type a few words (anything you want) and click File and then Save As in the top left.

13 You can also save directly to OneDrive from any Microsoft Office application. Hit the start button in the bottom left corner of your screen and select Word Create a new blank document. Type a few words (anything you want) and click File and then Save As in the top left. OneDrive Diocese of Greensburg Schools should be the top option and will display your address underneath. Click on the OneDrive folder. You will now see the contents of your OneDrive folder. Just name your file Test document and click save to save directly from Word 2016 to your school OneDrive account.

14 You have now completed onsite setup! Please refer to the resources available on your schools website for additional directions on things like pairing your keyboard (Acer users only), performing Windows updates using Microsoft Intune (Laptops and Acers), and accessing your school on your smartphone.
