3 1 What's changed in the Release Notes 1 What's changed in the Release Notes Version Description , 28th September, 2017 A Known limitation CSCvg19282 (CLIENT-6538) has been added , 25th May, 2017 A section titled 'Notifications not shown by Cisco Meeting App when it is not visible on the screen' has been added to describe how the notifications in Meeting App has been changed for ios devices. 4 2 Introduction 2 Introduction These Release Notes describe new features and changes for Cisco Meeting App (ios), formerly known as the Acano ios app. Cisco Meeting App is a client for Cisco Meeting Server that lets users chat, call (audio/video), or share what is on their screen via team spaces. 2.1 Installation Instructions Install or update the Cisco Meeting App from the App Store, and open it. If you have enabled Automatic Downloads in the Settings app, then the app will automatically update. Note: The Cisco Meeting App is seen by your phone as a different app than the Acano app. When you upgrade to the Cisco branded app, you have to manually remove the Acano app and install the Cisco Meeting App. 2.2 Using or troubleshooting the app To learn how to use the app, see our user guides: What's New in 1.9 introduces users to new features in this release. Cisco Meeting App User Guide is an overall guide to the app. "How to" Guides are visual guides for specific tasks that are essential for daily use. Overview of Buttons and Indicators lists all buttons and indicators and explains what each is for. App and video system FAQs for users helps users solve simple issues or learn more about using the app. To learn more about troubleshooting the app, see our documentation for administrators: These and other app Release notes inform about any known limitations. App FAQs for admins helps administrators find information or solve issues with the app. Troubleshooter for desktop and mobile apps, WebRTC, and SIP endpoints helps troubleshooting common issues. 6 3 New features and changes 3 New features and changes The features described here were implemented for 1.9. The release is a maintenance release with no new features. 3.1 Diagnostics shortcut ( and later) In the call view, users can now tap three times to send diagnostics. 3.2 New identity Acano apps are now Cisco Meeting Apps. The design is updated with a new color scheme, simpler avatars, Cisco logos, and Cisco branded voice prompts. 3.3 Recording control Users with recording permissions have a Record/Stop button in the top bar during calls. Other users will see a recording indicator when a meeting is being recorded. Note: The recording control is available only for Windows, OS X, and ios apps. It will be available for WebRTC in a later release. 3.4 Restriction of audio, video, or screen share Users can now be restricted from sending or receiving audio, video, or screen share via the App. These restrictions do not apply to a paired endpoint. That means that restricted users would still be able to use a video system for making calls or sharing their screen, and they would still be able to control the video system from the App. Note: The user interface will not reflect this setting. 3.5 Notifications not shown by Cisco Meeting App when it is not visible on the screen In some versions of Cisco Meeting App, notifications are no longer shown when the App is not actively open and visible on your screen. This is due to a change in the ios operating system made by Apple. When you are not actively using the App, the system moves it into suspended state instead of background state, hence you cannot see the notifications. This does not affect the way the Meeting App works in any other way. Cisco Meeting App (ios) : Release Notes 4

7 3 New features and changes Meeting App is primarily intended for users to join and manage meetings. We always recommend you use the latest versions of ios and Meeting App. Note: If you wish to get communication notifications more frequently we recommend you use other Cisco apps such as Spark or Jabber on ios devices. Note: Certain versions of the App will send notifications based on the version of ios on your device. 10 5 Bug search tool and resolved and open issues 5 Bug search tool and resolved and open issues You can now use the Cisco Bug Search Tool to find information on open and resolved issues for the Cisco Meeting App, including descriptions of the problems and available workarounds. The identifiers listed in these release notes will take you directly to a description of each issue. 1. Using a web browser, go to the Bug Search Tool. 2. Sign in with a cisco.com registered username and password. To look for information about a specific problem mentioned in this document: 1. Enter the bug identifier in the Search field and click Search. To look for information when you do not know the identifier: 1. Type the product name in the Search field and click Search. or, in the Product field select Series/Model and start typing Cisco Meeting App, then in the Releases field select Fixed in these Releases and type the releases to search for example From the list of bugs that appears, filter the list using the Modified Date, Status, Severity, Rating drop down lists. 11 Resolved issues Resolved in Reference CLIENT-5826 CLIENT-5765 CLIENT-5843 CLIENT-5614 CLIENT-6090 Issue Chat UI controls still visible in the ios App, when the messageboard is disabled on the Cisco Meeting Server. Users on the ios App from an ipad were unable to view call text information on the 'New Call' Screen. If you call into a space of which you are not a member, the app displays the message Enter passcode if the passcode is mandatory. However if the passcode is optional, the app will now display the message Enter passcode if required. If a space has a passcode, and an accessmethod using the same URI that does not require a passcode, App users that are not members of that space are not able to join calls as guests. ipad users in a call on the ios Meeting App cannot see new chat messages from the in call menu options, if they navigate within the user interface using the 'Back' and 'Return to call' buttons. Resolved in Reference - CLIENT CLIENT Issue The App crashed when searching for people by typing in the search box on the People tab, or when calling into a space, selecting Participants, pressing Call and then typing in the search box. The App crashed on opening on IPhone 7 when auto login was enabled. Resolved in Reference 9323 CLIENT Issue The App received no video on clustered deployments. Build not published. When a user attempted to use a phone for audio, the server would send audio to both phone and App Guests could access the management view. Now they are brought to the sign in screen when the call ends Occasional red tinted video when users returned to a call Guest could not join a call via weblink if the app was not already launched. Guests who managed to join the call would see a blank screen when leaving the call Outgoing calls failed when a user searched for a contact by typing in a video address that was the same as the contact's address Users could not mute their microphone if they had launched the App through a weblink. 13 Known limitations The following are known issues in this release. If you require more details enter the Cisco identifier into the Search field of the Bug Search Tool. Reference Issue CSCvg19282 CLIENT-6538 Video freezes and audio drops temporarily on an iphone with ios version 11. On ipads with ios 11, the frame rate drops CLIENT-3966 Issues with rejoining. If a call is left before connecting properly, the user may not be able to rejoin the call CLIENT-3982 iphone leaves the Cisco Meeting App call after 30 seconds when a user accepts a GSM call CLIENT-4592 Chat message appears as not sent.
