Subsequent cumulative update (CU) releases within the listed major/minor release will be supported unless otherwise noted in the Technology No Longer Supported with this Release table. Subsequent major/minor releases are not supported. Deltek Cobra: (Build ) CU3 (Build ) CU1 (Build ) Cobra Web Services updates are included in the installation. The integration does not support the 64-bit version of Microsoft Office 2010/2013; however it does support the 32-bit version of Microsoft Office 2010/2013 on 64-bit operating systems. For a full list of supported software, see the Deltek Product Support Compatibility Matrix document that you can download from the Deltek Customer Care Connect site \13 Defect Description: When you submitted progress and many Open Plan projects were associated with one PM Compass project, the process failed with the following error: Framework Exception: ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into <project>. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass Oracle users entering progress \12 (Released February 5, 2016) Items» Change Management Defect Description: The Update Budget Details Grid step action is now enabled to calculate the Budget columns correctly even when a resource is added to the project after a change request is submitted. Additional Notes: This is related to Defect (2.1.7 CU10). The Budget Details Grid was incorrect if a resource was added to the project after the item was created. The solution was to make the Update Budget Details Grid step action inactive. Deltek.PMCompass.ApplicationAncestors.Server.dll EPM Security Administrator Login Defect Description: You were unable to login to EPM Security Administrator using Windows Authentication if your User ID was in a different domain than the web server. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users logging into EPMSA using Windows Authentication. Workaround Before Fix: Log in from a machine on the authenticating domain. Files Updated: Deltek.EPMSA.Server.SysLogin.dll Deltek.EPMSA.Client.Controls.dll 2.1.7\11 (Released October 9, 2015) Items» Change Management Defect Description: The unencrypted password for the user/account in Weblink that is used to connect to the Report Server was saved in the log file. 2 Deltek PM Compass Cumulative Update Release Notes Page 2 of \10 (Released September 25, 2015) Enhancements Explanation of Variance Report To help keep the Explanation of Variance item report on one page wide, the following changes were made: The variance table is now left justified. The decimals are no longer displayed for BCWS, BCWP, ACWP, BAC, EAC, and the variance columns. The SPI and CPI columns are now narrower. Items» Change Management Defect Description: When a resource was added to the project after a change request was submitted, the Budget Detail grid Change Amount and Total were not recalculated correctly. Defect Description: When a change management item failed during the complete step, the workflow action was set to Complete, not Continue Complete. If you click Complete after the item fails, and there are Cobra only changes (not in the schedule), those changes are applied twice to the live project. Workaround Before Fix: To get the Workflow Action back to Continue Complete, run this query: UPDATE CAM_ITEMDATA SET WORKFLOWFLAG = 'WorkFlowFailure' WHERE ITEMID = 'XYZ'; Files Updated: Deltek.PMCompass.ApplicationAncestors.Server.dll Reports» Cost Analysis» Schedule Traceability Resources Defect Description: A Hexadecimal value 0x27 error displayed when you previewed the Schedule Traceability Resources report for a project when the Location of Element of Cost field was set to Code. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users using the Schedule Traceability Resources report. Workaround Before Fix: There is no work around for not encountering the error; however, after closing the message, you can still display the Report Options dialog box and select ALL in the Location of Element of Cost field on the General tab then preview the report. Files Updated: Deltek.PMCompass.ReportingAnalysis.Client.dll 2.1.7\09 (Released September 10, 2015) Items» Explain Variance Defect Description: When auto-creating Explanation of Variance items (EoV's), PM Compass created a new EoV for the same control account in the same period when the first EoV was approved. Dashboards» Dashparts Defect Description: An error message displayed when you clicked Configure on the Dashboard menu. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users configuring dashboards. Workaround Before Fix: Recreate the dashpart. Files Updated: Deltek.Framework.Controls.Client.dll Deltek.Framework.Dashboard.Client.dll Deltek.Framework.Frame.Client.dll Defect Description: The system was making a call to SSRS when you clicked Configure on an Item List view dashpart. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users using Item List view dashparts. Files Updated: Deltek.Framework.Controls.Client.dll Deltek.Framework.Dashboard.Client.dll Deltek.Framework.Frame.Client.dll Defect Description: When the user clicked Apply while PM Compass was generating data for a dashpart, the system closed the dashboard and started over. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users configuring dashboards. Files Updated: Deltek.PMCompass.Dashboard.Client.dll Regional Settings Defect Description: PM Compass failed during login if you had a French operating system. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users with French operating systems. Workaround Before Fix: Change the regional setting to US. Files Updated: Deltek.Framework.Frame.Client.dll 2.1.7\08 (Released August 20, 2015) Enhancements Validation Checks In previous versions, when you selected Change Management items from the Item List view and approved them, the approval stopped when one of the validations (for example, negative budget) was triggered. These validation checks are no longer performed when you approve from the Item List view. If you would like PM Compass to perform these checks, you should approve the item from the Item Detail view.

3 Deltek PM Compass Cumulative Update Release Notes Page 3 of 8 The validations that are no longer performed from the Item List view are as follows: Negative undistributed budget or Negative management reserve (depending on the Allocate Management Reserve checkbox setting) Negative BAC for the work package For more information about the system checks, see System Checks When an Item is Approved in the PM Compass online help (Items» Change Management» Change Management Concepts). Defect Description: You could not edit the ETC in Enter Cost Progress when invalid data existed (orphaned timephase). An error displayed when you clicked Save, "The record you are trying to save has been updated by another user since you first selected it. In order to save your changes, you must re-select the record and make your changes again." Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users entering cost progress. Defect Description: You could not edit the ETC in Enter Cost Progress when invalid data existed (missing timephase). A "Resource already exists" error displayed when you tried to add the resource. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users entering cost progress. Files Updated: Deltek.PMCompass.Projects.Client.dll Deltek.PMCompass.Statusing.Client.dll Deltek.PMCompass.Projects.Server.dll Deltek.PMCompass.Queries.Common.dll Projects» Approve Progress Defect Description: The progress that was entered disappeared when the system encountered an error during the approval. Files Updated: Deltek.PMCompass.ApplicationAncestors.Server,dll Deltek.PMCompass.Items.Server.dll Items» Explain Variance Defect Description: EoV items were not automatically being created when only the At Complete variances were exceeding the threshold. Files Updated: Deltek.PMCompass.Items.Common.dll Deltek.PMCompass.ApplicationAncestors.Server.dll 2.1.7\07 (Released August 7, 2015) Defect Description: In Enter Schedule Progress, when you submitted progress but did not enter an Expected Finish Date, the Comment dialog box displayed before the message that told you an expected finish date was required. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users using Enter Schedule Progress. Defect Description: In Enter Schedule Progress, a Progress Type of Completed was being used as the default Progress Type for the next activity. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users using Enter Schedule Progress. Defect Description: The progress that the CAM entered disappeared from PM Compass if the Open Plan project was open when the progress was approved. Deltek.PMCompass.Items.Server.dll Defect Description: When you added a resource in Enter Cost Progress, you got an error when you had a non-us date format. Workaround Before Fix: Login to Cobra as the PM Compass user and change the date format to US English. Additional Note: You can now set the date format to any selection in Cobra without impacting PM Compass. Deltek.PMCompass.CobraIntegration.Server.dll Deltek.PMCompass.Items.Server.dll Defect Description: When you added a resource in Enter Cost Progress, you got an error when you had a non-us date format. Workaround Before Fix: Login to Cobra as the PM Compass user and change the date format to US English. Additional Note: You can now set the date format to any selection in Cobra without impacting PM Compass. EPM Security Administrator» System Settings Defect Description: The error message "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" displayed if you accessed the EPM Security Administrator System Settings when the Enable instant messaging option was checked. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users who access EPM Security Administrator. Workaround Before Fix: Clear the Enable instant messaging option. Files Updated: Deltek.EPMSA.Client.Configuration.dll Known Issues Reports» Cost Analysis» Control Account Plan (CAP) Defect Description: The CAP report takes a very long time with some data sets when the element of cost is defined as a level of the resource code file. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users running the CAP report. Workaround Before Fix: Use a code on the resource for the element of cost \06 (Released July 21, 2015) Enhancements Enter Schedule Progress PM Compass now uses the Actual Finish Date to determine if an activity is complete when you use Enter Schedule Progress. In prior versions, PM Compass used the Computed Status from Open Plan. General» Framework Defect Description: The integrated credentials for populating the PM Compass login page were not correct for users who were on a different domain from the application server. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users working on a different domain from the application server. Workaround Before Fix: Turn off windows authentication. Files Updated: Deltek.PMCompass.Controls.Client.dll Deltek.PMCompass.SysLogin.Server.dll Defect Description: In PM Compass, after you performed a search that did not produce results, the message that displayed contained a typo: "No search did not return any results." Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users performing a search. Files Updated: Deltek.PMCompass.Lookup.Client.dll Defect Description: When you updated multiple assignments with different units on the Cost Progress Resource tab then clicked Save, a message displayed, "The record you are trying to save has been updated by another user since you first selected it" even though no other users were accessing the record. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users entering forecast for multiple assignments with different units. Workaround Before Fix: Enter the forecast information directly into Cobra. Deltek.PMCompass.Queries.Common.dll Projects» List View Defect Description: Some projects that were made visible in PM Compass were not displaying in the Projects List View. Additional Notes: The affected projects were shown in Projects Detail View. Files Updated: Deltek.Framework.Controls.Client.dll Projects» Schedule Analysis Defect Description: The activity searches did not work if your conditions used dates with Empty or Not Empty search operators. Workaround Before Fix: Use Computed Status = In Progress or Completed. Files Updated: Lookup_Activity.xml Defect Description: After you clicked No on the Schedule Analysis message about the selected project having more than 500 activities, a message displayed about the selected project containing more than 100 activities. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users who selected a project with more than 500 activities. Items» Explain Variance» Explanation of Variance Defect Description: Error producing the CPR Format 5 report in Cobra. This was due to PM Compass adding Null narrative texts. Workaround Before Fix: Enter a value in each narrative text file.

5 Deltek PM Compass Cumulative Update Release Notes Page 5 of 8 Known Issues Reports» Cost Analysis» Control Account Plan (CAP) Defect Description: The CAP report takes a very long time with some data sets when the element of cost is defined as a level of the resource code file. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users running the CAP report. Workaround Before Fix: Use a code on the resource for the element of cost \05 (Released June 25, 2015) Defect Description: When a code field was used in User-Defined Data and that code field was not in a project, the Search dialog box in the Enter Progress View didn't display any activities. Workaround Before Fix: Add the missing code file to the Open Plan project. Files Updated: Deltek.PMCompass.Globals.Server.dll Deltek.PMCompass.Lookup.Server.dll Defect Description: When you entered progress in the Enter Progress View and clicked Save, you could no longer remove the Actual Start Date. Workaround Before Fix: Approve the progress, then remove it in Open Plan, then start the status cycle over. Defect Description: Open Plan User-Defined fields were not available in the Advanced display of the Activity Search dialog box found in Enter Schedule Progress. Files Updated: Deltek.PMCompass.Lookup.Server.dll 2.1.7\04 (Released June 9, 2015) Enhancements This release includes a number of performance enhancements in the Enter/Approve Schedule Progress View, including but not limited to: Unchecking My Pending Progress in the Search dialog box. Unchecking My Pending Approvals in the Search dialog box. Selecting saved searches or creating advanced searches. Displaying activities in the Enter/Approve Schedule Progress View. The workflow steps before displaying the Comment dialog box after you click Submit. If a Progress View search returns more than 100 activities, you are now given the option to continue or select a new search. Known Issues Projects» Schedule Analysis Defect Description: The activity searches do not work if your conditions use dates with Empty or Not Empty search operators. Workaround Before Fix: Use Computed Status = In Progress or Completed \03 (Released June 2, 2015) Projects Defect Description: The Projects List View took a long time to load in a database with a large number (>1,000) of PM Compass projects. Files Updated: Deltek.Framework.Globals.Common.dll Deltek.Framework.Controls.Client.dll Deltek.PMCompass.Projects.Client.dll Defect Description: Saved searches in the Enter Cost/Schedule Progress View did not return results if you left the Project field in the Search dialog box blank. Files Updated: Deltek.PMCompass.Lookup.Client.dll Deltek.PMCompass.Statusing.Client.dll Projects» Administration» Item Type Configuration» Workflow Tab» Rejection Notification Defect Description: An error message displayed when you rejected a progress item and entered a comment into the Approve/Reject Comment field.

6 Deltek PM Compass Cumulative Update Release Notes Page 6 of \02 (Released April 29, 2015) New Features and Enhancements New Progress Admin Group Allows Users to Enter or Approve Progress When you select a group in the Progress Admin Group field on the System Settings Progress tab, any user who is part of that group can enter or approve progress for all projects to which they have access. They can use the Enter/Approve Progress search dialog box to select the activity / work package and enter or approve progress. Members of the selected group may enter or approve progress for all projects to which they have access. Control Account / Work Package Field Now Includes a Tool Tip When you hover over the Control Account / Work Package field, a tool tip now displays the entire field entry. This field is located on the Enter/Approve Cost and Schedule Progress forms and in the Cost and Schedule Analysis views Tool tip displays the full Work Package field entry Items» Explain Variance Defect Description: The BAC amount was zero on all Explain Variance (Variance Analysis Report) items. Defect Description: The validation for multiple schedule projects in one control account was occurring even when the item was not in the Change Management category. File Updated: Deltek.PMCompass.Items.Client.dll Defect Description: The percentages were not being highlighted on the Explanation of Variance item form or Variance Analysis report. Deltek.PMCompass.Items.Common.dll Defect Description: The As Planned progress type in Enter Progress was blank (even if selected) after you limited the number of schedule progress types on the Progress tab in System Settings. Workaround Before Fix: Select all of the progress types on the Progress tab in System Settings. Defect Description: Enter Progress failed with the following error: GetItemRecForCAWP cannot find CA for WP. Defect Description: You had to enter an expected finish date after you entered an actual finish date.

Additional Notes: The Percent Complete field now rounds to two digits to the right of the decimal. Projects» Approve Progress Defect Description: The assignment was not correct when you used a Schedule Project code in the System Settings» Progress tab» Assignment Mapping hierarchy \01 (Released April 10, 2015) Projects» Detail View» Thresholds Tab Defect Description: An error message displayed when you attempted to change the color banding threshold on a project. File Updated: Deltek.PMCompass.Projects.Client.dll Items» Change Management» Move Work Package Defect Description: Move Work Package item type error: "Input string was not in a correct format." when time-phase records have many digits to the right of the decimal causing a rounding error. Items» Work Authorization Defect Description: Approving a Work Authorization item in a large database was slow. File Updated: Deltek.PMCompass.Queries.Common.dll Deltek.PMCompass.ApplicationAncestors.Server.dll Items Defect Description: Creating a new item in a large database was slow. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users. Defect Description: Switching from Change Details to Item View in a large database was slow. Customers Impacted: All PM Compass users. File Updated: Deltek.PMCompass.Dashboard.Client.dll Deltek.PMCompass.Items.Client.dll Deltek.PMCompass.Statusing.Client.dll Defect Description: Received a message saying that the Actual Finish Date is required after removing the Actual Finish Date and changing the Resource % Complete to something less than 100%. Defect Description: When an Actual Finish Date was entered for a work package using Resource % Complete, all resources in the Resource Progress dialog box were set to 100% complete. 8 Deltek PM Compass Cumulative Update Release Notes Page 8 of 8 Additional Information Custom Programs Affected Sometimes an update can cause custom programs and reports to stop working as expected. Before applying this update, consider whether you have any custom programs or reports in the application area affected by the update. If so, contact Deltek Customer Care at before you install the update. Download the Cumulative Update 1. From Internet Explorer, go to 2. Click Run Deltek Software Manager. 3. Log in using your Deltek Customer Care Connect credentials. 4. In the left pane of the Deltek Software Manager, expand your Deltek product. 5. Expand the Cumulative Updates folder for your product, and select the update to download. 6. Click Download at the bottom of the screen. Install the Cumulative Update Run the executable (.exe) file on all of the Web/Application Server and Process Server machines. After the update is complete, click Finish. Confirm that the Cumulative Update is Installed In PM Compass In PM Compass, do one of the following: Look at the version number in the title bar. Click Help» About and look at the version number in the Application Version line. Web/Application Server On each Web/Application server, complete the following steps: 1. Launch PM Compass. 2. Click Help» About (in the upper right corner) to display the Application version that contains the cumulative update # (if applied). Web/Application and Process Servers Not Logged into PM Compass You can use Windows File Explorer or Control Panel to confirm the update on each server. Windows File Explorer 1. Open Windows File Explorer. 2. Navigate to the PM Compass installation folder (the default is C:\Program Files (x86)\deltek\pmcompass\hotfixes). Control Panel The folder contains xml files installed by the cumulative update. The highest version number reflects the last CU applied. Because the CUs are cumulative, you will also see the xml files for previous versions of CUs. 1. Open Control Panel. 2. Click Programs and Features. 3. Scroll down to Deltek PM Compass Cumulative Update <#> to confirm that the version reflects the last CU applied. More Information If you have any questions, please contact Deltek Customer Care at
