3 1 Minimum System Requirements Compleo Console works with the following configurations: 1.1 SERVER Hardware Requirements System Memory (GB) 2 Disk Space Required (MB) 200 Software Requirements Operating System Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition with SP2 /2008 R2 with SP1/ 2012/ 2012 R2/2016 Windows Installer 3.1 IIS SQL Server (recommended).net Framework (Only for SQL Server 2008 Express ) 7.0 or higher Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition with SP2 or higher. OR SQL Express 2005 advanced SP2 edition or higher (Maximum 4GB of data can be archived). Windows PowerShell Symtrax Licence Manager 1.0 or higher (Only for SQL Server 2008 Express or higher) 2.1 or higher 1.2 CLIENT Software Requirements Adobe Acrobat Reader Internet Explorer Firefox/chrome Opera To Archive Documents 8.0 or higher 10 or higher 31 or higher 27 or higher Compleo Suite 6.0 or higher Important Note: 1. If you are upgrading Compleo Console, you have to contact technical support to obtain the migration script corresponding to your version. 2. 4 2 Installing Compleo Console Note: Before you install, check the annexure for the installation and configuration procedure of your SQL Server, to be fully compliant with Compleo Console requirements. Step 1 Rights required to install Compleo Console Login with a profile with administrative rights, to install Compleo Console. Step 2 Choose Language Follow the installation program instructions step by step. Select the language you prefer and Click on OK. Step 3 Read the welcome note and the accompanied information carefully Read the information carefully and once you are satisfied with it, click on "Next" to Proceed. 5 Step 4 License Agreement Accept the license agreement by click on I accept the licence agreement and then click on "Next" to proceed. Step 5 Connecting to Licensing Service In Licence Manager Host field, enter the machine name which has Symtrax Licence Manager installed. Note: For further details on Symtrax Licence Manager refer to Symtrax Licence Manager installation guide. Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 5 of 69

6 Click Next. Step 6 Select Licenced Product This screen allows you to choose between the different Compleo Console modules for which the licenses are available in the licence manager. The license details are displayed beside the product name. Select the checkbox of the modules you want to install. Click "Next" to proceed. NOTE: Compleo Console needs to be installed for the product to work, hence this is compulsory. It is selected automatically. Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 6 of 69

7 Step 7 Destination Folder By default, the application will be installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\symtrax\compleo Console\ To change the folder location, click on "Change" and select a folder where you want the application to be installed. Click on "Next" to proceed. Step 8 Compleo Console Web Site Information In the IP Address select * or as per your requirements. Click on "Next" to proceed. 9 Step 11 Installing Compleo Console Database If you want to edit the connection parameter, then click Settings button. Edit or enter the details and click Test Connection. If the database already exist then the following message will appear. Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 9 of 69

10 Else, this message will appear. Now, when you click OK in Compleo Web Database Settings window. The following message appears. Click Install to create the database. Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 10 of 69

11 Click Start installation button to create Compleo Supervisor database. Once the database is created, the connection status will appear on Compleo Database Manager window. To work with Compleo Console, Open Internet Explorer and enter or Network Address}/cconsole OR If you have given a specific port number during installation then or Network Address}:{Port}/cconsole in the Address bar. 12 To log-in to Compleo Console, enter the details as shown below: Username: Superadmin Password: Archivor1 NOTE: It is recommended that you change the SuperAdmin password for security reasons. Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 12 of 69

14 Annexure 1: Installing SQL Server 2005 Step 1 Double click on the setup.exe to start the setup of SQL Server 2005 Step 2 End User License Agreement Read the terms and conditions of the license agreement carefully and check I accept the licensing terms and conditions check box to accept them: Click on Next. 15 Step 3 Installing Prerequisites Click on Install and wait while the system components are configured. The installation begins. After the installation of each component a checkmark will appear besides them. Once the Prerequisites are installed, click on Next. Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 15 of 69

16 Step 4 Welcome to the Microsoft SQL Server Installation Wizard Wait for a few seconds for the following screen to appear: Click on Next. Step 5 System Configuration Check If the configuration check is completed successfully (Success appears in the top panel, all ticks in the Details panel), click on Next. NOTE: It is important to have the status as successful in all major actions for the SQL Server 2005 to be installed and configured correctly. Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 16 of 69

17 Step 6 Registration Information The installation for this part begins. Enter the appropriate registration information. By default, your system information would be imported. Click on Next. Step 7 Components to Install Select the desired components to install or upgrade. Click on the Advanced button to open up further options. Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 17 of 69

18 Step 8 Features Selection Select the features that you would like to install. But you necessarily need to install Full Text Search for Compleo Console. If you want to change the default Installation path, click the Browse button. Click the Next button to continue with the installation. Step 9 Instance Name Select the desired instance name choice, either default or named, and then click the Next button to continue with the installation. 19 Step 10 Service Account Click on Use a domain user account, enter the username, password, and domain with appropriate rights and permissions. Select the services as shown above, to start services at the end of the setup and click the Next button. Step 11 Authentication Mode Select Mixed mode. Click the Next button. NOTE: Enter a secure SA (System Administrator) logon password that can be used later to make changes to the database. Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 19 of 69

21 Step 14 Ready to Install This screen shows you a brief of the selections you have made thus far. Make sure that the details here are correct and once you are satisfied, click on Install to begin the installation. Step 15 Selected components being installed This screen shows the installation progress. The installation time depends on the configuration you have selected and the hardware configuration of your machine. It can take anywhere between 5 minutes to 20 minutes depending on your system configuration. Once the Setup is complete, click on Next. Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 21 of 69

22 Step 16 Completing Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Setup Once the selected components are successfully installed, you will get a confirmation screen as shown. 24 Step 3 Welcome Note Click on Next button. Step 4 License Terms Read the terms and conditions of the license terms carefully and click I accept the agreement to accept them. Click on Next button. Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 24 of 69

25 Step 5 Feature Selection The list of SQL Server 2005 features are displayed. Select the features that you would like to update. Click on Next. Step 6 Authentication Select the authentication mode and account for the instances to upgrade. You can also check Apply selection to all instances checkbox to apply the settings to all instances. 26 Step 7 Error and Usage Reporting Settings Select the desired error/report settings or simply click the Next button without making any selections. Step 8 Running Processes This screen shows the list of services that are running and are required to be stopped to complete the Setup so as to avoid a computer restart. Use Computer Management Console (MMC) to stop the services manually. If you do not want to stop the services manually, then click on Next, and the computer will have to reboot to complete the installation process. Click on Next. 27 Step 9 Ready to install Click on Install to begin the installation. Step 10 Installation Progress This screen shows the installation progress. The installation time depends on the configuration you have selected and the hardware configuration of your machine. It can take anywhere between 5 minutes to 20 minutes depending on your system configuration. If you did not choose to manually stop the services running in step 8, then you will have to restart your computer to complete the process. Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 27 of 69

31 Step 3 End User License Agreement Read the terms and conditions of the license agreement carefully and check I accept the licensing terms and conditions check box to accept them: Click on Next. Step 4 Installing Prerequisites Click on the Install and wait whilst the system components are configured. The installation begins. 58 Annexure 6: Configuring SQL Server Step 1 Once the setup successfully finishes, you need to start the configuration manager. To do this you need to go to: Start All Programs Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Configure Tools SQL Server Surface Area Configuration Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 58 of 69

59 Step 2 Help Protect Your SQL Server Click on the Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connections link. In SQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configuration screen, click on the Remote Connections in the left hand tree pane and then click on Local and remote connections displayed on the right hand pane. 61 Annexure 8: Installing Compleo Console on Windows 2008/IIS 7.0 Problem When you install Compleo Console on a machine that has IIS 7.0 installed, the problem is that sometimes the Virtual Directory path is not automatically taken into account. Solution To add the Virtual directory path, Start Management Console Open IIS Manager If you are using Windows 2008, below is the screen shot and click on Web Server (IIS) to open the IIS Manager Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 61 of 69

62 Navigate to the Compleo Console Website NOTE: If you have used the default parameters to install and if the Default website is also configured with the same port number (80), you need to stop the default website or change the parameters of Compleo Console. After you open the settings of Compleo Console website, click on advanced settings on the right hand side to open the advanced settings window Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 62 of 69

63 Now, you need to add the path of Compleo Console in the Physical Path section of the advanced settings. Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 63 of 69

64 Once the path is selected, click OK and then restart the website. This should get the Compleo Console website working..net Framework setting for the Application pool running Compleo Console.Net framework 4 is the minimum requirement for Compleo Console. To make sure your application pool running Compleo Console is compatible: 1. Open IIS manager 2. Click on Application Pools and pick DefaultAppPool (if you installed with default settings) 3. Click on Advanced Settings This would open the Advanced Settings Dialog Box Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 64 of 69

65 Make sure that the.net Framework Version is set to v4.0 When working on Windows 2008 x64 Machine If you are working on a Windows 2008 x64 Machine, you need to follow all the steps stated above and then the steps below to solve the problem. Problem By Default, when IIS on x64 is installed, the option to run 32 bit applications is disabled. For Compleo Console to work, this option needs to be enabled in the IIS. Solution Enabling 32 bit applications to run on the IIS will solve this problem Open IIS manager Click on Application Pools and pick DefaultAppPool Click on Advanced Settings Compleo Console Installation Guide Page 65 of 69
