3 2 First Steps A Few Tips Before You Start Step 1: View System Requirements Step 2: Copy Files to Your Machine vapp License File Hadoop Configuration Files Step 3: Configure the vapp to Use Kerberos Authentication Tips for Success Configure the vapp to Authenticate with MIT Kerberos Get Kerberos Settings from Your Administrator Download the JCE Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy Files Step 4: Review the Hadoop Configuration Settings Next Step A Few Tips Before You Start Read this section first to understand which files are required on your machine before you can set up the vapp. Before you can set up the vapp, you must copy files to your machine. Consider copying the files to a folder on your machine that is named for the version of SAS Data Loader that you are deploying (for example, C: \SASDataLoader\2.4\). SAS sends an to your business or organization that includes information about the software order. This includes the license file as an attachment, which you will need to set up the vapp. Contact your Hadoop administrator and Kerberos administrator to obtain required information. o o o Your Hadoop administrator collects folders and settings that you need to set up the vapp. If the Hadoop environment that you will connect to uses Kerberos authentication, additional steps are required when you set up the vapp. Find out which Hadoop distribution is used, such as Cloudera CDH, Hortonworks HDP, or MapR Distribution.

4 Chapter 2 / First Steps Step 1: View System Requirements To view complete system requirements, including supported hypervisors, and hardware and web browser support, see: /PDF/default/sreq.pdf Step 2: Copy Files to Your Machine The following files and folders are required on your machine. vapp The vapp that you receive from SAS is based on your software order and the hypervisor that you intend to use. If you use a supported version of Oracle VM VirtualBox, refer to the following information. For Oracle VM VirtualBox The vapp is an OVA file The vapp file is named: dataloader-virtualbox.ova (OVA file). The Software Order from SAS contains a link to download the software using SAS Download Manager. Refer to Downloading the vapp with SAS Download Manager on page 61 for instructions. After you download the software, locate the OVA file in the following location of your SAS Software Depot: SAS_Data_Loader_for_Hadoop\2.4\VirtualBox \dataloader-virtualbox.ova.

Step 2: Copy Files to Your Machine 5 If you use a supported hypervisor by VMware, refer to the following information. For VMware Player Pro, Workstation, and Workstation Pro vapp files are packaged in a ZIP file How to get the ZIP file The vapp files are packaged in a file named: dataloader-vmware.zip (ZIP file). Extract files from the ZIP file to a folder on your machine (for example, C:\SASDataLoader\2.4\). All files in the ZIP file are required. o o If you use WinZip, right-click the ZIP file, and select Open with WinZip. In the WinZip application, click Unzip. If you do not use WinZip, right-click the ZIP file, and select Extract All. Note: The ZIP file contains the file that you open in your hypervisor, which is named SAS_Data_Loader_for_Hadoop.vmx (VMX file). How you get the ZIP file depends on your software order. Your Hadoop administrator might provide the ZIP file in a User folder and share it on a network server where you can copy it to your local drive. If you received a Software Order that contains a link for using SAS Download Manager, refer to Downloading the vapp with SAS Download Manager on page 61. After you download the software, locate the ZIP file in the following location of your SAS Software Depot: SAS_Data_Loader_for_Hadoop\2.4\VMWarePlayer \dataloader-vmware.zip. If the software was ordered from the SAS Store, a link to download the file is available from the SAS Store. License File The license file entitles you to use SAS Data Loader for Hadoop. License File Filename SAS_vApp_order-number_license.txt Where to get the file Copy to your machine Your SAS contact or Hadoop administrator might provide this file to you. SAS sends the license file to your business or organization as an attachment to an . Also, the file is located in the sid_files subdirectory where the SAS Data Loader software is downloaded. Note: The license file is also referred to as the SAS installation data file (SID). Copy the file to a folder on your machine (for example, C: \SASDataLoader\2.4\).

6 Chapter 2 / First Steps Hadoop Configuration Files The Hadoop configuration files enable the vapp to connect to the Hadoop cluster. Hadoop Configuration Files and Folders Folder names and structure The files are provided in two folders named conf and lib, and they must be copied to a folder on your machine named SASWorkspace\hadoop as shown below. The folder names are case-sensitive and must be spelled as shown. If necessary, use Windows Explorer to create the SASWorkspace\hadoop folder before you copy the folders. An example of the directory structure is C:\SASDataLoader \2.4\SASWorkspace\hadoop\ Where to get the files Ask your Hadoop administer for the files. Your Hadoop administrator might provide the folders in a User folder and share it on a network server where you can copy it to your local drive. Note: SAS Data Loader for Hadoop contains sensitive information. Protect any directories used by SAS Data Loader and the hypervisor software by making them accessible only to you. Step 3: Configure the vapp to Use Kerberos Authentication Perform the steps in this section if you plan to connect to a Hadoop environment that uses Kerberos authentication. If your Hadoop environment does not use Kerberos authentication, skip this step. Tips for Success Perform the steps in this section, as required, before you set up the vapp in the hypervisor. Consult with your Kerberos administrator to get the host name that was set up for your machine, and the values for required Kerberos settings on page 8. Kerberos systems that are available for Hadoop environments are Windows Active Directory (Active Directory) and MIT.

Step 3: Configure the vapp to Use Kerberos Authentication 7 o o If you are using MIT Kerberos for authentication, instructions are provided below to run the ksetup command to acquire tickets for your machine from the correct Kerberos realm. If you are using Active Directory only for authentication, no additional configuration is provided in this guide. Instead, your Kerberos administrator can refer to the SAS In-Database Products: Administrator's Guide for more information. Configure the vapp to Authenticate with MIT Kerberos TIP Consult with your Kerberos administrator to determine whether MIT Kerberos or MIT Kerberos for Windows is used. To protect the vapp using MIT Kerberos or if MIT Kerberos for Windows is used, you must configure your machine to acquire tickets for the vapp from the correct realm. Refer to the following options to configure your machine. If MIT Kerberos is used with client authentication performed through native Active Directory, run ksetup to add a Kerberos Key Distribution Center (KDC) and to assign the vapp host name to that KDC. For example, you might issue the following commands: ksetup /AddKdc KRB.ZZZ.COM kdcserver.zzz.com ksetup /AddHostToRealmMap dltest1.vapps.zzz.com KRB.ZZZ.COM where KRB.ZZZ.COM is the name of the Kerberos realm, kdcserver.zzz.com is the host machine of the KDC server, and dltest1.vapps.zzz.com is the host name used on the vapp client machine. If client authentication is performed through MIT Kerberos for Windows, modify the Kerberos configuration file to add the vapp host name to the Kerberos client domain realm mapping. 1 In Notepad, open the Kerberos configuration file. Typically, you can find this file at the following location: C:\ProgramData\MIT\Kerberos5\krb5.ini 2 Create the mapping. For example, you might enter the following: [libdefaults] #default realm settings [realms] KRB.ZZZ.COM = { kdc = kdcserver.zzz.com } [domain_realm] dltest1.vapps.zzz.com = KRB.ZZZ.COM where KRB.ZZZ.COM is the name of the Kerberos realm, kdcserver.zzz.com is the host machine of the KDC server, [domain_realm] is the header, and dltest1.vapps.zzz.com is the host name used on the vapp client machine. 3 Save the file and exit Notepad.

8 Chapter 2 / First Steps Get Kerberos Settings from Your Administrator When you set up the vapp, you must enter values for settings in the following table. These settings are displayed in the Settings dialog box in the SAS Data Loader: Information Center. TIP Ask your Kerberos administrator for the following settings. Field Host name User ID Kerberos Realm Kerberos Configuration File Host keytab file SAS server keytab file HTTP keytab file Value The host name portion of the Kerberos service principal names (SPN) created for the vapp. For example, if host/dltest1.vapps.zzz.com was created in the KDC for the vapp, use dltest1.vapps.zzz.com. The user name (for example, user1), and not the full user principal, such as user1@krb.zzz.com. The name of the Kerberos realm or AD domain against which the user authenticates. The location of the Kerberos configuration file. The location of the keytab generated for the host SPN. The location of the keytab generated for the SAS server SPN. The location of the keytab generated for the HTTP SPN. Download the JCE Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy Files Note: Perform the following steps if the Java Cryptography Extension (JCE) local policy and US export policy files are not installed on your machine. These files are two JAR files that are packaged in a ZIP file that you download from Oracle at the following web page: download html Download the ZIP file, and then refer to the README for instructions on extracting the files to your machine. TIP Remember the location of these files. During the vapp setup, you enter the location of the two files to configure Kerberos authentication.

Step 4: Review the Hadoop Configuration Settings 9 Step 4: Review the Hadoop Configuration Settings During the vapp setup, you might have to enter values to configure the vapp and your machine to connect to the Hadoop environment. TIP When you set up the vapp, values for many settings are provided for you. In most cases, you can accept the defaults without changing the settings. 69 65 Appendix 3 Troubleshooting Support Community Troubleshooting Tips Support Community If you need additional help with deploying or administering the SAS Data Loader for Hadoop, the support community is a great place to find answers. SAS Data Management Join the community to ask questions and receive expert online support. Troubleshooting Tips If something is not working, refer to the following table for tips and solutions. Issue When I run the vapp and open the Information Center, an error states that the system could not find the required Hadoop files. Wrong User ID is displayed after you restore or after migration. Tips Be sure to create a shared folder named SASWorkspace, and copy the conf and lib to SASWorkspace\hadoop. Next, exit the Information Center and restart the vapp to continue the process. Note: The folder name SASWorkspace is case-sensitive, so enter the folder name exactly as shown. In some cases, the User ID is not updated after you restore or migrate from a previous release. For example, if you connect to Hadoop secured by Kerberos with a vapp that previously connected to an unsecure Hadoop environment, the previous User ID remains. The previous User ID is the one entered when the Hadoop environment was not secure. Go to the Hadoop Configuration panel and delete the user ID. Look for the delete button next to the user ID field.

66 Appendix 3 / Troubleshooting Issue vapp fails to start in VMware Player Pro, and an error message states that Intel VT-x or AMD-v is not available. Migration from a previous version is not working. vapp does not restart properly after you end vapp processes with Windows Task Manager. Tips This message indicates that running a virtual machine (virtualization) is not supported or configured in your firmware. To resolve this issue, run a utility to configure your machine. First, determine whether your machine has an Intel or AMD processor: 1 Press the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard at the same time. The Run dialog box appears. 2 In the Open field of the dialog box, enter msinfo32 and click OK. 3 In the System Information window, ensure that System Summary is selected in the left panel. 4 In the right panel, find System Type and ensure that you have a 64-bit computer. Next, find Processor to determine the processor type, Intel, or AMD. 5 Download one of the following: Next, download, and run the utility for your machine processor: Download the Intel tool. Download the AMD tool. Finally, visit the virtualization hardware extensions page to enable Intel and AMD virtualization hardware extensions. To obtain information about how to navigate through your specific BIOS, contact the support site for the manufacturer of your computer. Note: For additional information about virtualization support, refer to the VMware Knowledge Base. Before you start the vapp (release 2.4) for the first time, copy the appropriate directories from your previous shared folder to the new SASWorkspace shared folder for release 2.4. If you encounter this problem, try the following steps: 1 Shut down the vapp (release 2.4) as described in Power Off the vapp on page Remove the folder where you unzipped the files for release Continue with the migration for your release. If vapp processes were shut down with Windows Task Manager, the vapp might not restart and the following message might be displayed: Service Temporarily Unavailable. If you encounter this problem, try the following steps: 1 Shut down the vapp as described in Power Off the vapp on page Power on the vapp as described in Start SAS Data Loader on page 52.
