1 INTRODUCTION This handbook is the complete guide to show the new features introduced in the smart house Configuration Tool, touch screen software and ish webserver in the Service Pack 3 release (starting from ). 3
2 SERVICE PACK 3 DESCRIPTION 2.1 CONFIGURATION TOOL TIME AND DATE UPDATING VIA INTERNET In order to always have an updated time and date in your controller, a time request functionality to an Internet time server is now available. This automatic updating has to be enabled from the Project setting window: Check on the field Update Controller Date and Time over Internet (red marked field), and then select your time zone (marked in green): now your controller will synchronize with a time server every 12 hours if you have an Internet connection. Warning: be sure to have the UDP port 123 open in your router otherwise the synchronisation will not work. The UDP port 123 is the one used worldwide to update the time and date. 4
2.1.2 SEQUENCES The Add sequence window is now updated to the new Add signal window introduced with Service Pack 2. In the example below, the function is made as a goodbye function, or an 'all off'. The sequence function executes the functions chosen in the list one at a time, until the end of the list. The sequence is started at the event of a signal or function: Open the Add Signal window by right-clicking on the Start sequence with field and select the wanted signal(s) to start your sequence: 5
You can also stop your sequence with the signal(s) selected in the Abort sequence with field: in the same way as described above, add the signal(s) you want to abort the sequence with. By selecting the check box Enable restart sequence, every time a start input is activated, the sequence restarts from the beginning. If this field is not checked, any activation of the start input signal(s) will do nothing, until the sequence is running. From the Sequenced function field, right click to add a new function, selecting Add Function : The following window will appear: 6
Next, you have to select the location where the required function is placed (Floors, Rooms fields), then select the function and the action to perform: at this point click on Add and the function will be added to the sequence. A delay can be inserted after each function in order to create some time delay. If you need to select the same action to all the functions, check the box Apply to all Light and Toggle functions : all the functions added to the sequence from now on, will perform the same action. If you right-click again in the 'Sequenced functions' field, and select the option Edit function, you will be able to edit your list: 7
And the following window will appear: Once you have selected a function, you can move it UP or DOWN in the list by clicking on the blue or green arrow, or delete it by clicking on the red X. You can also change the kind of action you want to perform for each selected function. The sequence will finish once the last function is finished. A sequence can also be repeated endlessly by checking the Auto cycle sequence field in the upper part of the function window, just below the name. In this case, the sequence can be stopped only with an Abort sequence signal. 8
2.1.3 TEMPERATURE REGULATION In the temperature regulation function, once the Room temperature w. floor monitoring option is selected, the minimum floor temperature is now also monitored. Choose which function you want according to the 'Room temperature', 'Floor temperature' or 'Room temperature w. floor monitoring' selections. If the latter is selected, choose the 'Floor max. temperature' value, in order to avoid over-heating of the floor and the Floor min. Temperature to allow a minimum floor temperature. In the Off signal field in the heating and cooling window it is now possible to select the same signal for both heating and cooling. N.B: Every time you open a project that was created with a 2.xx.xx version, be careful to open all the Temperature Regulation functions before updating the controller with the new configuration. This is necessary to update the configuration file with the new parameters added in SP3. 9
2.1.4 NEW SYMBOL FOR UPLOADING/DOWNLOADING A CONFIGURATION In order to have a more intuitive image for uploading/downloading a configuration file, the floppy disc has been substituted with an image of the controller. 10
2.1.5 SMS The main changes in the SMS functionality are: It is available in all languages In the intruder alarm function, every time you switch it on and off, you will receive an acknowledgement message from the controller. When the controller sends a reply message to your question Ask status, all the data defined as read for that function in the Function details output file will be included in the answer. All the used analink can now be read via SMS. Please be aware that, since the overall structure of the SMS functionality has been changed, once you have to update an old configuration, the SMS setup has to be created from the beginning. Furthermore, it is now possible to see the quality of the GSM signal in the same way you see the quality of the wi-fi signal on your PC: The GSM icon is visible only if the SMS function is enabled. 11
2.1.6 ORDER INFORMATION In the Project settings in the User Information menu you can now add the order number in the Order information field. The order number is then copied into all the output files: Module address coding, Module list, Bill of material etc 12
2.1.7 AUTOMATIC SIGNALS FOR ALL MODULES As for the cabinet modules, it is possible to have the automatic address assignment for every type of module: you just have to select the option in the Project settings window. In SP3 with automatic addressing both for cabinet and all the other modules, the system will give consecutive addresses without holes (as we had in the previous versions): this gives the benefit of no waste of channels, but the user must be aware that according to the position of the free channels, one module s signals might be split into two groups. 13
2.1.8 MODULE TAG SETUP From the menu Tools->Program properties->module tag setup you can define the name for every group of modules. This name will be used when you add a new module into your project and then reported in the Module list output file next to the relevant module. Once you have defined all the tags, every time you add a new module the relevant label will be used in the Tag field (see below) in the Add module window. In the example below, if a relay module is selected, the Tag field will automatically contain the right label. 14
The Number of elements field has also been added to place up to 20 modules of the same type. When the new module is added, the tag name will be linked to a number that is increased every time a module of that group is added: the first relay module will be Rel0, the second will be Rel1 and so on. 15
The same tag name will also be used in the Module list output file, as shown in the example below and in the Module address coding output file: 16
2.1.9 ENERGY SAVING FUNCTION In order to save energy if you should not have any PIR sensor to control lighting, the energy save functionality can be used without creating any additional timer function. If you have a simple light to switch on and off, and want to be sure that this light will be switched off after 10 minutes for example, you just have to check the Energy save field and set the required time. The light will be switched off automatically after 10 minutes. The delay can be set from 1 to 600 minutes. 17
CAR HEATING FUNCTION From the Temperature functions group, the new Car Heating function can be selected: This function allows the user to heat the car so that it is ready at a predefined set time. The user must set a time, two external temperatures (set point 1 and setpoint2) and two relative times (t1 and t2) so as to define the extreme points of a straight line. 18
In the field Outdoor temperature sensor you have to select the outside temperature sensor you are using. The output selected in the 'Controlled outputs' will be 'On' when the conditions are fulfilled (see below). To define the time and date when your car has to be ready, right click on the Time setting field and a new window to set the calendar will appear. 19
Once you have defined when the car has to be ready, click on OK : the new calendar entry will be confirmed. Please be aware that the start date has to be before the end date, otherwise you will not be allowed to set the date. Up to 5 different calendar entries can be entered. The activation time of the output is calculated on the basis of the parameters imposed according to the following line: 20
If the external temperature is less than or equal to set point 1, the heating is activated at the time t1 before the set hour and deactivated at the set hour. If the external temperature is the same as set point 2, the heating is activated at the time t2 before the set hour and deactivated at the set hour. If the temperature is above set point 2, the heating will not be activated. For all temperatures between set point 1 and set point 2, the time of activation of the heating is calculated from the straight line you can see above. In terms of definition, set point 1 is less than set point 2 and t1 is greater than t2. The pre-setting time and setpoints have to be entered in the relevant field: 21
Even if the function is not started on the basis of the algorithm described above, it is possible to activate it manually with manual inputs. Likewise, if the function is active, it is possible to switch it off manually with the stop inputs. You can also define a timeout time for the manual commands: once this time is elapsed, the function will go on according to predefined parameters. The On and Off manual signals are of the event-triggered type. To understand this functionality, see the table below. Command On Signal Off signal State Automatic Always ON Always OFF Always ON Automatic Automatic Always OFF Automatic Automatic 22
HOW TO COPY A TOUCH SCREEN CONFIGURATION If you have more than one touch screen in your application, you can now copy the configuration you have created, without having to do it for all the touch screens you are installing. Once you have inserted two or more touch screen modules, by right clicking on the module name the line Copy touch screen configuration will appear. Click on it, and the window to select the configuration from where to copy will appear. Select the touch screen configuration you want to copy and click on OK: you have now duplicated a configuration very fast and easily. To see very easily which is the port assigned to a specific touch screen, you have to select it and the port number will appear. 23
SPANISH LANGUAGE Now the Tool is available also in Spanish. 24
SEARCH FUNCTIONALITY To search for a module, a signal or a function in the module, signal or function tree, you can use the search functionality. Type the name you are looking for in the field marked in blue and click on the icon time the Tool finds a match, the function will be highlighted with a blue background. : every 25
BILL OF MATERIAL From the menu View -> Bill of material, you can print/download the list of all the modules used in the project with the relevant quantities. 26
MODULES CATALOGUE From the menu View->Available modules you can access the whole module catalogue and view the datasheets without inserting a dummy module. 27
LIST OF CONTROLLERS IN THE NETWORK If you launch a new inquiry to see the controllers in the network from the menu Tools-> Restart communication, a window will appear with a list of all the connected controllers and the following information for each of them: IP Address: o Green, if it is a dynamic one, coming from a DHCP server o Red, if it is a static one o Black, if the firmware in the controller is prior to 3.xx release MAC address Firmware release The different colours for the IP address, the MAC address and the firmware release will be available only if the firmware in the controller is 3.00 or successive. The MAC address is shown on the status bar of the Configuration Tool. The firmware in the controller must also be at least 3.00 in order to show this information. 28
LED INDICATION FOR COMMUNICATION Starting from firmware release 3.00 and Configuration Tool release 3.00, the red LED on the controller blinks slowly (1 second ON and one second OFF) if a controller is connected to the Tool. As a result, if you have more than one controller in your network, you can recognize at a glance which is the one at present connected to the Tool. 29
ISH STYLES You can select the webserver style you prefer from the menu Project->Project setup->webserver settings: Click on the button next to Web Style and the following window will appear, from which you can select the preferred style: 30
You can choose between 9 different styles and, once you have decided, just click on Ok. 31
2.2 TOUCH SCREEN SOFTWARE Some improvements have also been made to the touch screen software NEW INPUT FIELD WINDOW New input windows have been developed in order to improve the aesthetic aspect: these can be seen below: Light level setup: Calendar setup: 32
Real time setup: Timer setup: 33
2.2.2 CAR HEATING FUNCTION The new car heating function has been added in order to allow the user to set it up and to start or to stop it with a touch screen. The start and stop can be carried out as usual, just adding a pushbutton, while below you can find the new setup windows with which the home owner can completely program this function by himself, without using the Configuration Tool (the same operations can be carried out with the ish webserver as well). The home owner can decide the two temperatures and presetting times to define the straight line described in paragraph
Then he can also define the 5 calendar entries for the periods he wants the car heating function to be active. 35
2.3 ISH WEBSERVER CAR HEATING FUNCTION The car heating function has also been added in the webserver, in order to let the user command and set it up using his smart phone. Select the CAR HEATING function from the function list on the ish webserver homepage. The following page will appear: The car in the icon is white if the function is not active, while it is red if the car heating is on. If you activate/deactivate it manually with the command ON/OFF, a small hand will appear together with the car (see picture below) in order to remind you that the function will remain ON/OFF until you give another command manually: this means that it will not be activated/deactivated automatically according to the defined calendar entries until it is in manual mode. 36
Clicking on the car icon, you will enter the setup of the car heating, and the following page will appear. If he would like to change something in the calendar entry, he just has to click on Calendar entry 1 (or 2, or 3, ): 37
and in the new window define the days he wants the function switched on/off automatically. He can enter up to 5 calendar entries, as in the Configuration Tool and touch screen software. To change the presetting time and setpoints, the user has to click Settings and set the wanted value. 38
