1 How to copy a music CD or create your own CD from multiple CD s using the Windows Media Player in Windows 7. Step 1. Insert a music CD into your CD DVD Player. Your system should be setup to start the Windows Media when a CD DVD is inserted. If so, proceed to Step 2. If your CD did not start playing, start the Windows Media Player using one of the following three choices listed below and shown in Example Single left click on Play audio CD using Windows Media Player if AutoPlay Menu is displayed. See 1A. 2. Single left click on the Windows Media Player Icon on the Taskbar. See 1B. 3. Single left click on the Windows Media Player Icon from the Start Menu. See 1C. Step 2. The Windows Media Player should be displayed on the screen. 2A. Single left click on the Stop button to end the song that is currently playing. 2B. Single left click on Switch to Library. Example 2 shows the Windows Media Player controls and options. Step 3. Your screen should look like Example 3. Note we are on Play tab. 3A. single left click on the Maximize button to fill the screen. 3B. all songs have a check mark and will be ripped (copied) to the Music Library. This will allow you to make a copy of the entire CD. 3C. You can remove any song you do not want to rip (copy) by a single left click on the check mark next to the song you want to remove. 3D. single left click on the Rip CD button. This will start the ripping (coping) process Example 4 shows what your screen should look like after your songs have been ripped (copied) to the Music Library. 4A. Single left click on the Burn Menu. Step 4. Your screen should look like Example 5. Note we are on Burn tab. We still have the original CD in our CD/DVD Drive (E:) with album name Home. Under Album it shows Audio CD (E:) with the Album graphics and Album title (Home Dixie Chicks Pop 2003). Selecting the songs you want to burn to a CD is done the same way as selecting files. If the songs you want to burn to a CD are in order you single left click on the first song, then hold the shift key and single left click on the last song. All songs should be highlighted in blue. If the songs you want are not in order, you will single left click on the first song you want and then hold down the Ctrl key and single left click on each additional song you want. The selected songs should be highlighted in blue. Step 5. Now we are ready to drag the files to the right and drop a copy of the songs into the Burn List. We accomplish this by moving the cursor anywhere in the blue highlighted area and while holding down the left button, move the mouse to the right, where it says Drag items here to create a burn list. Let go of the mouse button and the songs should appear in the Burn List. Your screen should look like Example 6. Step 6. Remove original CD from CD/DVD drive and insert a blank CD. 6A. Single left click on Start Burn. Your screen should look like Example 7. 7A. Shows the Burning (copying) percentage completed. The CD will eject when process is completed.
