3 Basic Training Procedures Basic Navigation Procedure 1. When you login to WAM the application window opens. The window works like any application and is moveable and sizeable. When you hover over or point to the title bar, it shows you what version of WAM you are in and your username. WAMT - Test WAMP - Production WAMD - Developer Point to the Oracle - Home - WAMT NEWUSER tab. August
4 2. Below the title bar is the menu bar which allows you to navigate to subsystems and modules and to select useful tools. Click the Application Map link. 3. Each of the columns represents a Subsystem and below it are the modules within that subsystem. 4 August 2017
5 Basic Training Procedures 4. Open modules by clicking on them. Click the Work Order link. 5. The work area window holds various working panels where you perform most of your work within the system. 6. The main panel displays the Search Options, Results, Record Header, View and information. The navigation panel on the left, contains lists of available views and actions and buttons to control the information displayed in the main panel. 7. The ORACLE button returns you to the home page regardless of where you are in the system 8. The Search Options displays the Search Options dialogue box for the current module in the main panel. 9. The Results button displays the current search results list in the main panel. August
6 10. The Record Header button displays the header information for the current record in the main panel. If you have not selected a record, the button functions the same as the New icon. The label on the button changes to indicate the module that you are using. 11. The Views List lists additional views of the information available in the current module. The list changes from module to module and depending on the status of the record. 12. The s box lists actions available to you. Some actions are available throughout the system, while others are available only in certain modules or for certain records. A scroll bar will appear if more views or actions are available than can be displayed. 13. The Hint Bar is at the bottom of the application window. The bar offers hints about fields, query results, problems, lists of values and other useful information. 14. Across the top is a toolbar with buttons and icons for frequently used features. New Record, Save, Undo, Refresh, Delete and Spell Check. 15. On the right are icons for Run Report, Inbox, Message and Help. 16. You can go directly to a module by typing the name of the module you want to open in the Go To Module box. 17. The View Buttons take you to the previous or next view. For example if you are in the Task (Detail) view the next button will take you to the next task. 18. The Hide Button hides the navigation panel by reducing it to a narrow line and changing the arrow to a right arrow. Restore the panel can by pressing the right arrow. 19. The Next and Previous Record arrow buttons will move you through the records in a search results list. 20. End of Procedure. 6 August 2017
7 Basic Training Procedures Getting Started Procedure 1. To get started, open the WAM application. Click the All Programs menu. 2. Click City Applications. 3. Scroll down to WAM. 4. Click WAM. August
8 5. WAM has three environments. We normally operate in Production. Developer is used for developing reports. For this training, we will use Test. Click WAM Test. 6. Enter the desired information into the User ID: field. Enter "newuser". 7. Press [Tab] to move to the Password field. 8. Enter the desired information into the Password: field. Enter "******". 9. Press [Tab] to move to the Login key. 10. Click the Login button. 8 August 2017
9 Basic Training Procedures 11. The first time you login, you can choose to store your password for WAM. In this case select Not for this Site. 12. WAM automatically opens to your home page. The ORACLE button will return you to your home page from any Module. 13. Click the Application Map object. 14. The Application Map shows a list of all the modules that are available to you. We are going to set up shortcuts to the most used modules on your home page. Click the ORACLE button to return to your home page. August
10 15. You can customize your home page through the Preferences link. Click the Preferences link. 10 August 2017
11 Basic Training Procedures 16. You can change the number of columns displayed on your home page. Click the Show list. 17. We will leave it at the default 3 columns. Click the 3 Columns list item. 18. The Theme option can be used to adjust the color of your screen. Click the Theme list. August
12 19. Since we are working in WAM Test, It is a good idea to change the theme color on your home screen to a color that is different from WAM Production. Click the Green list item. 20. Click off the Display Descriptions with Titles option to reduce the clutter on your home screen. 21. We are currently not using the s feature so it can be removed. Click the s list item. 22. 13 Basic Training Procedures 23. Click the OK button. You can always add a module back in at a later time. August
14 24. To add Favorite Reports, click the Add button. 25. Click the Favorite Reports link. 14 August 2017
15 Basic Training Procedures 26. The number of Items to display can be adjusted for any module by highlighting the number and entering a new number. For now we will leave the default 10 items. Click the Finish button. August
16 27. Click the Alerts (Unread) list item. 28. Alerts are system generated messages that prompt you to complete a task or notify you of an event such as approvals required. For now we will remove them. Click the Delete button. 16 August 2017

18 31. Click the Notes list item. 32. Notes are used to enter and maintain notes or comments about a record. This module is generally not used and can be removed. Click the Delete button. 18 August 2017

28 49. The Tip of the day will display a new tip everytime you update your home screen. 50. Favorites are used to create links to modules that you will use on a frequent basis. 33 Basic Training Procedures Managing your User Profile Procedure 1. You can access your User Profile module from your home page by clicking User Profile under Favorites or from the Application Map Click User Profile. August
34 2. Click the Search button to open your user profile. 3. To change your password, click the Change Password list item. 4. You will have to exit the application after changing your password. Click the Yes button. or Press [Alt+Y]. 5. Enter the current password into the Old Password. field. Enter "newuser". 6. Enter the new password into the New Password. field. Enter "password". 7. Re-enter the new password into the Confirm Password. field. Enter "password". 34 August 2017

37 Basic Training Procedures 14. Click the Search button to find your user profile. 15. To view a summary of your responsibility, click the Responsibility Summary list item under Views. 16. This is an example for a base level user. The checked items on the Responsibility summary show the modules you have authority to display (Disp) and select (S). You do not have authority to insert (I), Update (U) or delete (D) records for modules that are not checked. Drag the left scroll bar down to view all the authorized modules. 17. Click the Close button. 18. Click Home to return to your home page. 19. Click the OK button. or Press [Alt+O]. 20. This completes the lesson. 38 Bookmarks and Searches Procedure 1. Select a module to open. When a module is opened in WAM it automatically opens on the Search Options criteria page. Click the Work Order link. 2. All the fields in the Search Options criteria page are searchable. 38 August 2017
39 Basic Training Procedures 3. To perform a basic search on a known work order, enter the work order number in the Work Order/Type field. Click in the Work Order/Task field 4. Enter the desired information into the Work Order/Type field. Enter " ". 5. Click the Search button. 6. WAM takes you directly to the work order you selected. 7. You can create a bookmark to save this work order on your home page. This will be a link to return to this specific record. Click the Create Bookmark list item. 8. Enter a meaningful title for your bookmark. The bookmark will appear on your home page only. Enter "2017 Spring Sweep Program". August
40 9. Click the Finish button. 10. Click the ORACLE button to return to your home page. 11. The Bookmark you created has now been added to your home page. 12. Return to the Work Order module to do a broader search. Click Work Order. 40 August 2017
41 Basic Training Procedures 13. WAM allows you to have multiple modules open at the same time. Let's return to the old module we were previously using. Click the Old Module button. or Press [Alt+O]. 14. To modify the search criteria, click the Search Options button. 15. You can clear the current search criteria by using the Clear Fields options in the s menu along the top or under s in the lower left menu. Click the s menu. or Press [Alt+A]. 16. Click the Clear Fields menu. or Press [F]. August
42 17. When you click the Search button on any module, without entering any search criteria, WAM will return a search of all records. Click the Search button. 18. Press [Shift+F2] to view the total number of records the search returned. 19. The total number of records 44207, is displayed at the bottom right corner of the screen. 20. To return fewer records, return to the Search Options page to add criteria. Click the Search Options button. 21. Start by selecting active work orders only. Click the Work Order Status. list. 22. Click the Active list item. 23. Select a Department and Branch for your search. Click in the Department. field. 24. Click the List of Values [.] button to display all available departments. 25. Select the division and department for the area you are interested in. Be sure to use the current codes for the organization. Click Roadways Operations. 26. Click the OK button. or Press [Alt+O]. 27. Click the [.] button. 28. Select the Area for the Branch you wish to search. Click Concrete Services. 42 August 2017
43 Basic Training Procedures 29. Click the OK button. or Press [Alt+O]. 30. To run the search you can use the Search button in the Search Options screen or use the Search option under s Click the Search list item under s. 31. Press [Shift+F2] to view the number of records. 32. This time the query returned 104 records. 33. Return to the Search Options screen to further narrorw the search. Click the Search Options button. 34. WAM uses the % sign as a wild card. By entering 16% in the Work order field, WAM will search for active work orders created in Enter "16%" into the Work Order /Type field. 35. Click the Search button. 36. Press [Shift+F2]. 37. This time the query retrieved 54 records. 38. Save this search to your home page. Click the Save Search list item. 39. Enter a meaningful title for your search. Like the bookmark you created, this search will appear on your home page only. Enter "2016 Active Concrete Work Orders". 40. Click the Finish button. August
44 41. Click the ORACLE button to return to your home page. 42. The search you created has been added to your Saved Searches. 43. Instead of opening the Work Order module again under Favorites, we can return to the open module by clicking the windows explorer icon and selecting the open object. Click the Explorer icon. 44 August 2017
45 Basic Training Procedures 44. Click the * WAMT NEWUSER - Internet Explorer list item. 45. This returns you to the last view you had open in the Work Order module. August
46 46. You can also create a bookmark for a single record in a larger search. Click the > button beside the work order number to open the work order. 47. Click Create Bookmark under the s. 48. Enter a meaningful name for your bookmark. Enter "Capital Project - 20th Ave ". 49. Click the Finish button 50. Click the ORACLE button to return to your home page. 51. 47 Basic Training Procedures Reports Procedure 1. Run a report from your Favorite Reports on your home page. Click the Detailed Work Order Report link. August
48 2. Field names in bold on the report parameter page are required fields, all others are optional. Enter the desired information into the Work Order No field. Enter " ". 3. Complete the optional Date fields to reduce the size of the report. Click the Date button. 4. Click the Previous month button until Aug 2016 is selected. 5. Double-click 01 to select August Set the To Date field to 31-Aug-2016 Click the Date button. 7. Click the Previous month button until Aug 2016 is selected. 48 August 2017
49 Basic Training Procedures 8. Double-click 31 to select Aug Click the Run Report button. 10. Always run reports to screen before printing. Depending on the date criteria selected, some reports can be hundreds of pages long so it is best to review the results prior to printing. Click the Run Report button. August
50 11. The Detailed Work Order Report shows a summary of all the costs charged for a work order as well as detailed costs by task. To print the pdf you can scroll to the bottom of the report and print from the pop up menu or print from the File menu Click the File menu. 12. Click the Print... menu. or Press [P]. 13. 52 15. Select the Report link to view the complete list of reports that are available or run a report that is not set up as a Favorite Report. Click the Reports link. 16. Reports starting with C are City of Regina custom reports. Scroll down to view the available reports. Click the Scroll Down button 17. Double-click C_WOSU to select the report. 18. Enter the bold required fields on the report parameters menu. Click the... button to find the desired Account code. 52 August 2017
53 Basic Training Procedures 19. The % sign in the Find field is a wild card and will show all available options. To shorten the list, you can enter the first characters of the account you are looking for. Characters typed on the left side of the % will affect column 1 and values entered on the right will affect column 3. Enter the desired information into the Find field. Enter " ". 20. Enter the desired information into the Find field. Enter " ". 21. Click the Find button. or Press [Alt+F]. 22. WAM returns a list of Activities associated with the Fund and Org you selected. Select the desired Activity. Double-click T in the Account_No cell. 23. The Date fields are required for this report. The date can be typed in using the format DD- MMM-YYYY or use the Date pick buttons to enter the desired dates. Click the Date button. 24. Again, we are going to enter Aug 01 to 31, 2016 for our date parameters. Click the Previous year button to select Click the Next month button until Aug is selected. 26.
