Backup and Restore in Zen TDS SQL VERSION

1 Prerequisites for Backup:- 1:-Your Application should be registered in particular assessment year in which you want to take backup. 2:-Take backup from Server PC only. 3:-Nobody can use Zen TDS on Node pcs while backup & restore process is running. 4:-After Backup & Restore it is recommended to Restart Zen TDS on Server PC. Type of Backup:- 1:-Complete backup:-it will take complete backup of all your Zen TDS data in a single file. 2:-Custom backup:- If you want to take backup of some client than select from given list.it creates individual & consolidated file as per selection. Type of Restore:- 1:-Complete restore:-restores complete backup file 2:-custom restore:-restore data based on selection.

2 Location in application Tools:-Database Utilities:- click on tools menu, it will open database backup & restore utility.

3 Process of Backup Tools:-Database Utilities:- selecting this option will open database backup options. Before taking backup first decide which type of backup you want and click on the option.

4 1:-Complete Backup On clicking on this option it will open new window like this:- 1:-Browse the path where you want to save this backup file.

5 Here you can select location or create new folder on selected location on your HDD or network location.

6 After that click on Proceed button to start backup

7 After completion of backup it will prompt a completion message. 1:-Now click on Ok button 2:-Now the backup process is completed click on exit button to exit from this window. Now your backup file is saved with complete Zen TDS data. Backup file name contains current date and time and spectrum.zip.

8 Now Backup process is completed, click on EXIT option to exit from this window. When you click on exit button it will prompt a message this is highly recommended to you that please restart your application after backup process.

9 Process for Custom Backup 1:-click on custom backup option, it will open following window. Here it will show complete list of Deductor. From here you can select those deductor s whose backup you want. On selecting deductor s from the list it will be added in selected client list. Here it will show list of those deductors you want to take backup and selected from left panel side. On this window following options are given. 1:-Select all:-to select all deductor s from list for backup. 2:-Deselect all:-de selects all selected deductor s from list. 3:-invert select:-it works as per selection or deselection from list.

10 After selection of deductor s to take backup, select file path to save the backup file. From here you can select the location where you want to save custom backup file.

11 Here one more option is given 1:-Backup of master table:-if you select this option than it will take backup of master table like BSR master, section master, ministry name. 2:-client wise backup file:-if you select this option than it will create individual backup file for each selected deductor with their code. Otherwise it will create single backup file for all deductor s like complete backup.

12 After completion of selection process click on proceed button to take custom backup. After completion of backup processes it will show message now click on ok button and exit from this window. Now check your given location for the backup file.

13 Restore Process 1:-Complete Restore:-Select this option from given window. Click here to select the backup file to restore. Make sure selected file is having complete backup. If you select other file than it will give error message to select proper file. After selection of file now click on PROCEED button to start the restore process. 2:-After completion of restore process it will prompt a completion message that Data is restored successfully. Now exit from both the windows. Now you can restart Zen TDS and start your work with restored data.

14 2:-Custom restores:-select the custom restore option from window.it will open following window. 1:- you can select custom backup file. If you have taken client wise backup than select backup file one by one. Or else you can select single file as per requirement.

15 On this window following options are given. 1:-Select all:-to select all deductor s from list for restore. 2:-Deselect all:-de selects all selected deductor s from list. 3:-invert select: -it works as per selection or deselection from list. Here it is showing complete list of Deductor whose backup is taken by you previously. The selection process is click on check box and selects the deductor. Here it displays the list of those deductors you want to restore and selected from left panel side.

16 After selection of deductor s now click on proceed button After the completion of restore process it will prompt completion message that data is restored. Now exit from main window, restart application and check your data.

17 1:-if KDK Support Team ask you to format your system if you are not able to take backup than follow following process to take backup. 1:-Click on start menu. 2:-click on Run 3:-Type following command services.msc and press enter. 4:-Find the following service SQL Server (KDKSQL) 5:-Now double click on this and click on STOP button. 6. Now Go to Location C:\Programe File \ Microsoft SQL Server \ MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\ and copy both the Files Spectrum.MDF Spectrum_Log.LDF Note:- If the services of SQL server has been stopped successfully then you can take a backup of DATA Folder Also. 7. Now start the services of SQL Server (KDKSQL) through Services. msc.
