The following section describes this interface in detail. In order to use the Web interface, the following prerequisites must be met: A PC directly connected to the controller or via an IP network. The default IP address is given in para 2.3 Menu / HCS Tools A standard web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer version 6 or higher) installed on this PC Java Runtime Engine (JRE version 1.5 or higher) installed (can be downloaded from Appropriate IP settings (please refer to para. 2.3) The Web interface is started by typing the correct IP address into the Web browser. 1.2 View on the Web Interface. The figure below shows the top view of the web interface. A B C E D

6 MANUAL_HDCU_en.doc Page 6 of 25 The Web interface for Antenna heater system consist of 5 active modules: A B C D E Menu: - allows to open the data logger - enables the download of MIB file - offer access to documentation (Datasheet, Manuals..) Heating Module: - controls and monitors the heating mode (manual/automatic) - controls the heating fall back time - informs about the heating state Temperature Monitoring: - controls and monitors the present ambient and dish temperatures - setting of thresholds and limits - status of heating process Current monitoring: - controls and monitors the heater currents for dish segments, feeds and subreflector. - setting of thresholds and limits Config SNMP: - enables the SNMP communication and configures the SNMP parameters - configures the Security setting (password, security level) 1.3 Parameters Description of De-icing Function For the heater control there are 3 important parameters which can be adjusted according the typical weather condition of the location: Deactivation Threshold [ C] Activation Threshold [ C] Heating Delay [min] In automatic control mode the heating process is active: when the ambient temperature 1) and dish temperature drop below the configured value of upper temperature threshold ( Deactivation Threshold ) and the snow sensor 2) detects snow (switched ON). The heating process is inactive: when the ambient temperature (outdoor) rises above the configured value of upper temperature threshold ( Deactivation Threshold ) or the snow sensor detects no snow (switched OFF). Furthermore the heating process is inactive: at very low temperatures when the ambient temperature (outdoor) drops below the configured value of lower temperature threshold ( Activation Threshold ) even when the snow sensor detects snow.

7 MANUAL_HDCU_en.doc Page 7 of 25 When the switch-off criteria is fulfilled post-heating process is initiated. The heating delay (Heating Fallback Time) is used to dry the surface of the heated antenna. The period can be set with the parameter Heating Delay. With the adjustment of activation / deactivation thresholds and heating delay Off-time the different weather conditions can be covered. Remark: 1) The temperature sensor (ambient) is mounted on the outdoor cabinet. 2) The snow sensor is mounted on the dish of the antenna. 3) The temperature sensor on the antenna controls the dish temperature. 1.4 Access Rights To manage the controller via Web-interface there are three different user access settings: a default access mode a no password access mode a User level access mode More detailed information you will find in paragraph 6.4 System Control.
