13 To be able to apply HSM Filter Driver on Celerra, the server needs to be accessible by the Celerra The gateway can be a Windows (CIFS), Mac (NFS), Linux (NFS) or Unix (NFS) machine Note (3) Support for VNX platforms using the Celerra file stubbing API (VNX File Mover must be enabled). Validation done on VNX 5300 platform. No support for pnfs, MPFS. EMC Centera is only supported when the compliance mode is not enabled. No macos support for the EMC Centera (no API) Validation made on ONTAP version 6, 7, 8.0, 8.1, 8.2 and 9. No support for Windows Gateway needs to be Windows (Fpolicy API limitation) - If using Windows 2003 as a Gateway, SP1 is required. Please note integration is leveraging Fpolicy 7mode. Cluster mode is not supported. Please contact us for more details. Please note a NetApp filer can only have one Fpolicy registered application. If antivirus is already using Fpolicy, then stubbing will not be possible. ADA Server needs to have direct access to tape drives. The gateway can be a Windows (CIFS) or a Linux using (NFS). Note that if using NFS, massive recall can occur as NFS offers no solution to prevent it. A Windows or Linux ADA gateway (Dell API limitation) is needed to connect to the Dell DX Object Storage Platform. Avid Unity compatibility guide is applied here. The gateway can be a Windows or a macos no Linux or Unix machine. The gateway needs full access to the Unity storage (using a Unity license). Please note, the gateway must be equipped with the Avid Connection manager only available on Windows and macos. If using this storage with a tape library, ONLY AMM can be used - This type of storage is not supported by ATN. Please also refer to the ADA Application compatibility matrix line describing Avid Interplay compatible storage. Avid Unity compatibility guide is applied here. Unity ISIS is supported for macos, Windows ADA gateway and Linux since ADA v3.7 - No Unix machine. The gateway needs full access to the Unity storage (using a Unity license). Please note, the gateway must be equipped with the Avid Connection manager only available on Windows and macos. If using this storage with a tape library, ONLY AMM can be used - This type of storage is not supported by ATN. Please also refer to the ADA Application compatibility matrix line describing Avid Interplay compatible storages. ASG Technologies 13

ATN as a storage manager is currently in maintenance mode, new installations are not possible. Check Important Notices section. ASG-Digital Archive Gateway Proxy Capability Gateway Proxy Capability Any File Server sharing data through CIFS is supported using a Windows Gateway. NFS on UNIX is supported using a Gateway. Samba on UNIX and macos is now supported without using a Gateway. Only client archiving is supported to archive data stored on UNIX or MAC using CIFS. NAS devices require the HSM Client to be deployed on all Client systems. 16 Media Manager (AMM) The Media Manager needs to be installed in environments where the target archiving device is tape. It is the platform that enables ADA to access tape libraries and tape devices. Library & Drive Limitations Drives: The types of drives supported are the ones listed as supported by ASG-Digital Archive in the above section. Libraries: ASG-Media Manager only supports libraries that offer barcode management capabilities. Please refer to the following section for more details: ASG-Digital Archive Specific Limitations. 19 ASG-Digital Archive Transcoding for Video asset preview The transcoding for video asset preview feature creates a low resolution version of an asset that can be viewed without retrieving the entire asset, and from which Partial Retrieval can be performed, if activated. The license for this option is complimentary. It can be obtained free of charge by filling a request form upon configuring the Video proxy transcoding format in ADA Administration Console. The transcoding option is currently only available with ADA File Storage One to One located on the ADA Server. All video formats/codecs supported by FFmpeg can be transcoded, however if you intend to perform Partial File Retrieval, some restrictions apply, see the Partial File Retrieval section for details. 20 ASG-Digital Archive Partial File Retrieval (PFR) The Partial File Retrieval (PFR) feature for the MXF and QuickTime (QT) formats is available via the Rich Media option that must be added to the ADA configuration in order to use partial retrieval. PFR requires a new license. The Rich Media Option also delivers automatic metadata import for media industry file formats such as MXF, DPX, etc. See the Metadata Import section for details. Please note that in order to confirm that we are fully compatible with your flavor of MXF files, please send links to samples file to be tested to: MXF - MXF wrappers: Op1a to Op3c3 (including XDCam, P2, Ikegami, K2, Omeon) - If interested in using Op3 please contact us for more information - And the following essences: IMX 30, 50, 50, Mpeg2, Mpeg2HD, Mpeg4, DV, DVCPro 25/50, DVCProHD, AVC-I, H.264, Jpeg2K, DNxHD, uncompressed, Tiff, Dpx, Bwf, Wave, Aiff, Aes2, Aes8, VBI, D-Cinema(DCI) support, DCP creation. - Concerning the support of clip/frame wrapping mode (video audio interleaved) by our Partial File Retrieve feature, here is the perimeter supported: o In entry: MXF clip/frame wrapping is supported o In output: MXF frame wrapping as an output Concerning Avid s MXF formats: - Partial File Retrieve is fully supported in an Interplay configuration equipped with an Interplay Archive Server. 22 ASG-Digital Archive Metadata import The Automatic Metadata Import feature delivers Automatic Metadata Import for media industry file formats (MXF, DPX ) or graphic file formats (AVI, JPG, MPEG, JPG2000 ) depending on the option reference. It is available in the Rich Media Option.- An additional license is required for this feature. 24 ASG-Digital Archive Network & Protocols Network Integration - Supporting NFS v2 & v3 - Gateway: the choice between CIFS and NFS must be done depending on the Gateway s OS used with the ADA Agent accessing the NAS: o CIFS if the ADA Agent is running on Windows No CIFS support on Linux/Unix or macos Agents o NFS if running on macos or Linux/Unix No NFS support on Windows Agents - No support for: o IPv6 host names are not supported o AFP (Apple File Protocol) is not supported Archiving & Retrieval of objects located on remote share through Apple File Protocol (AFP) is not supported. o No CIFS support on Linux/Unix or macos X Agents o No NFS support on Windows Agents ASG-Digital Archive Combined Use with Other ASG Products Running multiple product components on the same host is not recommended in production environments. Like any business-critical applications, ASG products will perform best when running on dedicated hosts. Furthermore, troubleshooting issues with co-resident applications can be extremely complex, which may result in reduced service level. This section refers only to coresidence and not to interoperability with other ASG products. Provided that the host has sufficient processor, memory, storage, and network resources to support the combined load, it is generally safe to install components from other ASG products on the same host as ASG-Digital Archive. Product versions must be at least as current as the following: Product ASG-Time Navigator (1) ASG-Live Backup ASG Live Navigator Version Versions 4.4 SP1, 4.4, 4.3 SP3, 4.3 SP2, and 4.2 SP and up 3.2 and up This limitation is enforced when ADA is using ATN as a Storage Manager. Some quota systems can miscalculate free space and deny access during retrieval. Some replication solutions may cause the recall of the documents archived while opening the stubs created by the ADA HSM Filter Driver when replicating a file system. However, most solutions are able to detect that stubs are offline files, and they do not retrieve them. The stubs created by the ADA HSM Filter Driver may be retrieved by the antivirus software while browsing the stubs, thus causing massive retrieval. However, most Antivirus are able to detect that stubs are offline files, and they do not retrieve them. We noticed a strange behavior of the quota manager that do permit to overflow the quota limit sometime when retrieving a file from a stub. In other word, we were able to overrun our quota during our tests by a few MB.
