1 GUIDE TO INSTALLING IQCARE This is a visual guide, it does not explicitly explain each and every detail. It also assumes you have a basic degree of technical knowledge Xp Vista Windows 7 Wamathaga Kamau

3 PRE REQUISITES Administrative rights to your computer Window Xp professional service pack 2 or greater or Windows 7 (preferred)/vista Ultimate/Business edition (home of basic editions will not work) If installing on Xp have either the installation disk or the i386 folder available. Sufficient disk space The black slides are specific to XP operating system and grey to Vista/Windows 7

4 STEP 1: Ensure that Internet Information Service is installed WINDOWS VISTA: Click the Start button, click Control Panel, click Programs, and then click Turn Windows features on or off. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. In the list of Windows features, select Internet Information Services, and then click OK. Windows 7 doesn't install all features automatically by just clicking on Internet Information Services, you have to drill down and select more features.

5 STEP 1: Ensure that Internet Information Service is installed WINDOWS XP Click Start, click Control Panel, and click Add or Remove Programs. Click Add/Remove Windows Components. The Windows Components Wizard appears. Follow the on-screen instructions to install, remove, or add components to IIS.

6 STEP 1: Ensure that Internet Information Service is installed Check the internet information service option Drill down to Web Management Tools and check all options as well as all options under Application Development Features

7 STEP 1: Ensure that Internet Information Service is installed Check the internet Information Service option, double click to open and uncheck SMTP Services YOU MAY NEED AN XP INSTALLATION CD OR I386 FOLDER TO COMPLETE THIS INSTALLATION

8 Installing IQCare Run the installer and agree to all subsequent options

9 NOTE: Install the IQCare directory in the classic pool

10 CONFIGURING SQL

11 Configuring SQL Open SQL Server Surface Configuration

12 Click on Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connections and under remote connections check using both TCP/IP and named pipes

13 Under Surface area configuration for features check the XP_cmd shell option and enable it

14 Open SQL Server Management Studio Express and connect using Windows Authentication

15 Under the Object Explorer, right click on the SQL instance, properties Security and enable SQL Server and Window Authentication Mode

16 Security Logins Sa Double click and under the General Tab input the provided password, under Status enable Login

17 Restart the server (you may have to run the application as an admin in window 7 to be able to do this) and login with SQL Server Authentication using Sa and the password you input during configuration Alternatively, this configuration can be done by running the script called Enable Sa and Windows authentication

18 RESTORING A DATABASE

19 Right click on Database Restore Database Under To Database write IQCare and Select From Device

20 Click Add and look for a.bak file that you want to restore click OK, check the Restore option

21 Under Options, check overwrite existing database as well as ensure the Restore path is correct, click OK. Once complete, you should be able to find a database by the name of IQCare

22 Look for and Run the RestoreDB SQL Script Open the RestoreDB.sql file attached with your release files in TSQL window from SQL Server Management Studio and Press Execute Button

23 USER RIGHTS

24 Enabling security Tab in XP On the menu bar select Tools Folder options On the View tab, under Advanced settings, clear Use simple file sharing [Recommended].

25 Look for C:\inetpub, right click and click on properties

26 Click the Security tab Edit Add Advanced Find Now and add IUSR and Authenticated Users make sure they have Full Control Allowed

27 Open the inetpub folder and right click to get properties. Under the Security Tab Advanced Inherit permissions

28 Only configure firewall is sharing the application FIREWALL

29 Allowing the application thru the fire wall Go to the control panel Windows Firewall

30 Under the Exceptions Tab Add a Port number 80

31 For windows 7 go to the control panel Systems and Security Windows Firewall

32 Click on Advanced Settings

33 Inbound Rules New Rule Port Next

34 Specify the port as 80 Allow the connection

35 Uncheck the option of allowing connections through a Public network to enhance security, Click next and give the Rule a name

36 Login in
