2 Basic information Instadose dosimeter should be worn on front of the body, between waist and neck. With the online Account Management Program (AMP) administrators can: Register, initialize, and read badges Assign/reassign badges Create new wearers and locations Run report queries at anytime and save in a variety of formats

3 This Quick Step Guide provides instructions on how to begin using your instadose badges: Step 1: Adding users Step 2: Downloading the driver Step 3: Initialize instadose dosimeters

4 Step 1 ADDING USERS

5 Adding Users Click Users> under the manage section. Click Add User>.

6 Adding Users cont. There are 3 sections to complete when adding a user: Personal information User information Dosimeter assignment NOTE: All fields with a red asterisk are required.

7 Adding Users cont. Personal information- If the badge will be used as an area monitor you can use your address and phone number they do not need to be unique to the system.

8 Adding Users cont. User information- The username must be unique to the system. You will be prompted if the username already exists. It is good practice to use an address as the username. Each user must have a role assigned: Administrator: Full access to all functions on the site. Location Admin: Access to functions on the site are limited to the assigned location. Group Admin: Access to functions on the site are limited to the assigned group within a location. Wearer: Limited access to functions on the site. A wearer can perform readings on devices assigned to them. Reports will only contain the wearers data.

9 User information cont.- Adding Users cont. Location: If you utilize Locations, you may assign a user to a specific Location. This is mostly for reporting purposes. Group: If you utilize Groups within a Location, you may assign a user to a specific Group. This is mostly for reporting purposes.

10 Dosimeter assignment- Adding Users cont. The drop down will display all unassigned badges, select a badge. You DO NOT have to assign a badge to a user. Some Administrators may not have badges. Select the body region. Click Save> when done. TIP: each time a badge is assigned or re-assigned, it MUST be initialized before it is given to the next wearer. From under the Manage section of the Dashboard select Initialize Device> and follow the prompts

11 Step 2: DRIVER INSTALLATION

12 Install driver The driver must be installed on any computer system that will be used to perform the following actions: Initialize devices Reassignments Reads To install the driver you must be connected to the internet.

13 Driver installation Click on the Download Software> (Step 1) under the Manage section, and follow the instructions to Run and save the driver to your system. Depending on your browser you will be asked different questions to be able to save the driver software on your system. Example: be careful to select to show all secure and unsecure information, the answer is different between versions of Internet Explorer. Read the warnings and answer to show all. For IE8, this means answer NO! For IE9 you will be warned that the instadose_installer.ext is not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer click Actions> and select Run> this program anyway.

14 Instadose.exe Select to Save> the Instadose.exe to a location of your choice, such as your desktop or folder you will know where it is. In this example, I created a folder called Driver.

15 Warnings During the installation, there may be warnings or requests to continue such as the ones listed below, just select to Run> and continue the installation. If the system gives you a warning to allow access, please allow the process access.

16 Run the driver installation You may see a security warning the publisher could not be verified click Run>.

17 Installation wizard The installation wizard will begin and show a screen similar to the one below. Continue the installation by clicking Next> on both the Dosimeter Reader Setup Wizard screen and the Destination Location screen.

18 Installation wizard cont. On the Ready to Install screen click Install>.

19 Completion of wizard installation Once the Wizard has completed the setup of the Instadose driver, click Finish>.

20 Pop up blockers You must allow pops-ups on your system from the instadose.com site to ensure the site functions properly. For IE users go to tools and select Pop-up Blockers then add instadose.com to website allowed. 6/10/ MAN4235

21 Pop up blockers Chrome Google Chrome prevents pop-ups from automatically appearing. Whenever the browser blocks pop-ups for a site, the icon appears in the address bar. You can allow all popups by disabling the pop-up blocker. Follow these steps: Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar. Select Settings. Click Show advanced settings. in the "Privacy" section, click the Content settings button. In the "Pop-ups" section, select "Allow all sites to show pop-ups." Customize permissions for specific websites by clicking Manage exceptions. 6/10/ MAN4235

22 Step 3: BADGE INITIALIZATION

23 Badges must be initialized before use. Initialize: Connect the device to the USB port, from the Dashboard homepage click Initialize Device(s)> and follow the prompts. Tip: This process will need to be completed each time a badge is re-assigned.
