This feature expands the existing cluster using a reference node, see Using the Expand Cluster Wizard (page 87). Cluster Configuration Consistency Status The Cluster Summary view contains status information that details Cluster Configuration Consistency. Server Fabric 47

SCVMM Logical Switch compliance is the rollup of the compliance status reported by all v-switches on the system. A v-switch can become non-compliant when the v-switch s configuration is changed using Hyper-V manager directly instead of modifying the logical switch associated with the v-switch. Reference Host Logical Switch Consistency compares logical switch based v-switch connections between the reference node and other nodes in the cluster to ensure consistent connectivity. This is clickable for more information. NOTE: Reference Host Logical Switch Consistency will always report OK for the reference node and will not be clickable. Cluster Status reports the roll-up status of: SCVMM logical switch compliance Reference Host Logical Switch Consistency Server Profile Template Consistency Clicking the Reference Host Logical Switch Consistency hyperlink brings up the Cluster Node Configuration Consistency Status screen that reports the status against reference node. This dialog shows a report detailing the consistency of logical switch based v-switch connections between the selected reference node and the cluster node. Each OneView-based downlink port on the reference node is compared to the cluster node to ensure that the logical switch configuration is consistent. 48 Using Fabric Management Add-in

NOTE: Only logical switch connections are compared. Downlinks connected to external switches (standard switches) or configured as IP adapters are not taken into account. In the screen shot above, you can see that downlink port 'Flb 1:2-a' is not consistent with the reference node because it is connected to a different logical switch and uplink port ('Tenant Logical Switch' and 'Tenant port profile_xxx'). Downlink port 'Flb 1:2-c is inconsistent because the cluster node either does not have a connection, the connection is configured as an IP adapter, or is configured with an external switch. For example, storage volume expansion. Update the Fabric Management Add-in after a Data Cache Refresh. Add or remove a storage provider in the SCVMM Console. Create, delete, or migrate virtual machines in SCVMM or vcenter. 74 Using Fabric Management Add-in

Refresh Data Cache Action Fabric Management Add-in displays the Last Updated Time based on when data refresh was completed. Data refresh is initiated by one of the following: Manual refresh of data is initiated by the Refresh Data Cache in the Storage Summary page. Automatic data-refresh is initiated by the Fabric Management Add-in. For more information, see Configuring Automatic Refresh (Optional) (page 42). Manual authorisation or unauthorisation of a storage system by the Fabric Management Add-in, see Configuring the Fabric Management Add-in in the SCVMM Console (page 26). The following scenarios requires a data cache refresh: A Virtual Machine is created on an ESX host or a cluster by the vcenter or by the SCVMM console. A Virtual Machine is migrated from an ESX host or a cluster to another by the vcenter or by the SCVMM console. A Virtual Machine is deleted from an ESX host or a cluster by the vcenter or by the SCVMM console. Refresh and Provisioning Operation In-band provisioning operations: In-band provisioning operations like volume creation is performed using the SCVMM GUI or via the PowerShell cmdlet. Refresh or rescan of the storage providers or hosts is not required in SCVMM. Fabric Management Add-in gathers all hosts and virtual machine information from SCVMM. To view the changes after In-band provisioning, initiate a Data Cache Refresh in the Fabric Management Add-in. NOTE: Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends, perform an In-band provisioning operation. This avoids a delay in displaying information in the Fabric Management Add-in Out-of-band provisioning operations: Out-of-band provisioning operations such as volume creation is performed by the storage system management software. Any changes made takes time to reflect in SCVMM. You can wait for the SCVMM default refresh to complete or initiate a refresh or re-scan for storage providers and hosts. The default refresh time for Hosts/Clusters is 30 minutes and default refresh time for storage providers is 24 hours. Fabric Management Add-in gathers the hosts and virtual machine information from SCVMM. To view changes after an Out-of-band provisioning in SCVMM, initiate a Data Cache Refresh in the Fabric Management Add-in. View Refresh status The Fabric Management Add-in server automatically collects storage details from all authorized Storage Systems. The data refresh start time is displayed in the Fabric Management Add-in. Once data refresh is complete, the last updated time is displayed. The data available in Fabric Management Add-in is also updated. Storage Fabric 75

The refresh time depends on the size of the environment and the number of storage systems authorized in the Fabric Management Add-in. To collect storage details, you must authorize each Storage Systems provider, configured in SCVMM. For more information, see Configuring HPE Storage Systems System (page 26). Refresh data cache is required in the following scenarios: Storage provisioning changed in the Storage Systems management console. Storage volume host information changed in SCVMM. Storage provisioning information changed in SCVMM. Data is removed from the data cache in the following scenarios: A provider is unauthorized in the Storage Systems. A configured provider is removed from SCVMM. A storage device firmware is re-installed or the SSL certificate for SMI-S Provider is changed. NOTE: If a storage system or an SMI-S Provider is unavailable, then the storage system displays as unauthorized. You must authorize the system manually. IMPORTANT: The Add Capacity Wizard lists out unassigned Server Profiles (in case of OneView 1.20) and Server Profile Templates (in case of OneView 2.0). Based on the version of OneView, the user must select either the Server Profile or the Server Profile Template. As part of the deployment process, the wizard copies it and renames it as Profile <Enclosure Group name> <Enclosure name> bay-<baynumber> and later assigns it to the selected bare metal servers. Hence, it is advised not to create any OneView Server Profile/Server Profile Template with this naming format. Using the Add Capacity Wizard The Add Capacity Wizard is accessed in the Fabric Management Settings view in the OneView Appliances table. 1. On the appropriate OneView appliance, click Deploy Server(s). Using the Add Capacity Wizard 81

2. On the Profiles and Systems screen, select the host group, profiles, and systems, and then click Next. The Profiles and Systems screen differs based on the OneView version you select to deploy the servers. If you select OneView version 1.20, then the system displays the following Profiles and Systems screen. NOTE: The wizard uses OneView unassigned server profile. 84 3. On the Fabric Customization screen, map the SCVMM network adapters to the OneView connections, and then click Next. 84 Add Capacity Wizard

4. On the Deployment Customization screen, specify the required options, and then click Next. Using the Add Capacity Wizard 85

5. On the Summary screen, click Deploy. The wizard performs the following tasks for each system: System is powered off (via OneView) OneView Server Profile is assigned Query for assigned Server Profile to get the MAC address from each connection Dynamically build the Adapter part of the PowerShell deployment script using the mapping information collected in the wizard Concatenate into PS script based on SCVMM PC profile and dynamic adapter part Submit deployment script to SCVMM Power on system (via OneView) After the system is powered on, to initiate and continue deployment, the system uses PXE boot. You can track the progress from SCVMM s native tasks. IMPORTANT: Do not close the SCVMM console until the deployment jobs have completed. 86 Add Capacity Wizard

6 Expand Cluster Wizard The HPE Expand Cluster Wizard enables expanding existing clusters by provisioning new systems that clone the network connections of the selected reference node. The Expand Cluster Wizard uses the network configuration and OneView server profile of the reference node to bare-metal provision one or more systems with the appropriate operating system and configuration to enable nodes to be added to the cluster. The Expand Cluster Wizard is an action available in Cluster Summary view. IMPORTANT: Expand Cluster requires that all the nodes in a cluster are OneView managed and supported servers. See, Supported target servers (for deployment) (page 10) for the list of supported servers for deployment. If the cluster contains nodes that are not supported or not managed by OneView, the Expand Cluster action is disabled. Using the Expand Cluster Wizard The reference node is used during cluster expansion to clone network configurations to ensure that all nodes in the cluster have consistent network connectivity. 1. On the Cluster Summary view, right-click on the cluster node and click Set as reference node. This is the node the cluster expansion operation will use to clone network connections for subsequent deployed nodes. 2. Once the reference node is set, select Expand Cluster from the Action menu. Using the Expand Cluster Wizard 87

IMPORTANT: Only OneView Advanced license blades are supported. The Expand Cluster Wizard requires an existing cluster in order to add cluster nodes. Expand Cluster Action is enabled only when any one node in the cluster is set as a reference node. Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends that the Reference Node Cluster Consistency should be OK before expanding the cluster. The cluster configuration consistency report gives SCVMM logical switch and host compliance status compared to the reference node. If reference node server profile is associated with Server Profile Template, then Server Profile Template Consistency will be displayed. To make cluster node configuration consistent, ensure that you are using same Server Profile Template for all nodes in the cluster. 3. Once the SCVMM physical computer profile is chosen, select the Servers. 88 Expand Cluster Wizard

IMPORTANT: You must select the same or compatible SCVMM physical computer profile that is being used in the reference node. The Expand Cluster Wizard uses the OneView server profile from the reference node and automatically lists all compatible systems for deployment. Fabric network settings are automatically matched using the reference node, however you may also modify settings by dragging and dropping selected items if required in the Customize system fabric settings wizard screen. The network adapters defined in the selected SCVMM physical computer profile will not be used. The network adapters configured in the reference node will be used instead. All other settings in the SCVMM physical computer profile will be used when deploying to the selected systems. Ensure that no network adapter is connected to a standard switch (external switch) on the reference node. The Expand Cluster deployment will fail if the reference node has standard switch connections, which is an unsupported scenario. The Cluster Node Configuration Consistency Status report gives errors on such connections, Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends resolving all consistency errors before expanding the cluster. If the reference node has standard vswitches configured, then the expand cluster wizard considers those adapters as DHCP physical connections. You must manually create standard vswitches after the deployment, if needed. If reference node server profile is associated with server profile template, which is not compliant with the associated server profile template, then clicking on expand cluster action returns an error. 4. Click Next. 5. The next screen allows you to confirm your server profile connections in relation to the appropriate SCVMM physical computer profile Logical Switch or Logical Network. NOTE: The settings should match the configuration of the reference node. In most cases, these connections should not be changed to ensure the nodes where the settings are being deployed have a network configuration that matches the reference node. If a change is required, the network adapters can be rearranged by dragging and dropping the adapter onto the appropriate connection. 6. Cick Next. Using the Expand Cluster Wizard 89

7. On the Deployment Customization screen, specify the required options, and then click Next. NOTE: If the cluster reference node uses Static IP addresses, manually enter them here. 8. Click Next. The confirmation screen appears which shows you all of the selections you have made. 9. Click Deploy and the Wizard will deploy the system to the host group that is the parent of the cluster. Profile support IMPORTANT: Once system deployment is complete, drag and drop systems on cluster or use SCVMM's Add Cluster Node wizard to add nodes to cluster. Table 7 (page 91) lists supported configurations and limitations related to the OneView server profile definitions when using the Expand Cluster wizard. 90 Expand Cluster Wizard
