Timeline displays all activities in a cnslidated interface, prviding quick and easy ways t add anntatin and display a cmbined view f relevant infrmatin pertaining t any Accunt, Lead, Cntact, Campaign, Case, and Opprtunity. AvePint Timeline Enterprise supprts Micrsft Dynamics CRM 2013 (Online and On-Premises) and Micrsft Dynamics CRM 2011 (Online and On-Premises). 4 Required Permissins T install and use Timeline Enterprise Slutin prperly, ensure that the permissin requirements are met: The user wh imprts Timeline Enterprise Slutin t Micrsft Dynamics CRM has the System Administratr security rle fr Micrsft Dynamics CRM. The user wh uses Timeline fr Micrsft Dynamics CRM has the AvePint Timeline Enterprise User Accunt security rle fr Micrsft Dynamics CRM. The user wh manages AvePint Timeline Prfiles has the permissins belw: Read permissin t Entity, Field, Relatinship, System Frm, View, and Web Resurce. Read and Write permissins t AvePint Timeline Cnfiguratin. Create, Read, Write, Delete, Assign, and Share permissins t AvePint Timeline Prfile. 5 Overview f Installatin and Cnfiguratin T prperly install and cnfigure AvePint Timeline Enterprise fr Micrsft Dynamics CRM, the fllwing steps must be perfrmed in this rder. Install Timeline n yur desired devices (iphne, ipad, Andrid phne, Windws 7 Operating System, r Windws 8 Operating System). Fr installatin nt a Windws 7 system, see Installing Timeline n a Windws 7 Operating System. Yu can install Timeline n the iphne, ipad, Andrid phne, and Windws 8 Operating Systems thrugh yur system r device app stre. After yu cmplete the steps abve, Timeline will use the AvePint Timeline Prfile yu cnfigured in Dynamics and lad the entities and activities. If the steps abve are nt cnfigured, Timeline will use its default settings. The fllwing steps are ptinal: 1. [Optinal] If desired, cnfigure the Star and Open in Timeline settings. Refer t the Cnfiguring Star and Open in Timeline Settings sectin fr details. 2. [Optinal] Yu can mdify the recurrence f Starred Recrds Bulk Delete jbs. 6 Imprting the Timeline Enterprise Slutin The Timeline Enterprise Slutin must be imprted int Dynamics befre any f its functinality can be leveraged. Fllw the steps belw t imprt the Timeline Enterprise Slutin int Micrsft Dynamics CRM Lg nt Micrsft Dynamics CRM 2013/2011. *Nte: The user wh lgs nt Micrsft Dynamics CRM 2013/2011 must have the System Administratr security rle fr Micrsft Dynamics CRM. 2. Navigate t Settings > Custmizatin > Custmizatins > Slutins. 3. Click Imprt t imprt the slutin. The Select Slutin Package pp-up windw appears. 7 4. In the Select Slutin Package pp-up windw, click Brwse. Select the AvePint_Timeline_Enterprise_Managed_Serial_Number.zip file that cntains the slutin. 8 7. If desired, yu can view the details f the slutin package. a. Click View slutin package details fr mre details. Slutin Details Displays the versin, package type, and s n. Publisher Details Displays the slutins cmpnents that will be imprted. b. Click Clse t return t the Slutin Infrmatin page. c. Click Next t cntinue. T cmplete the imprt prcess, select the Activate any prcesses and enable any SDK message prcessing steps included in the slutin checkbx (Enable any SDK message prcessing steps included in the slutin checkbx in Dynamics CRM 2013 envirnment) shwn belw. 10 10. After the slutin imprts successfully, click Clse t clse the Imprting Slutin page. 11. Verify that the AvePintTimelineEnterprise slutin is displayed in the All Slutins list. 11 Registering a License After imprting the AvePint Timeline Enterprise Slutin, an Enterprise license must be applied. Refer t the instructins belw: 1. After imprting the slutin, refresh Micrsft Dynamics CRM 2013/ Navigate t Settings > Custmizatin > AvePint Timeline Prfiles. 12 3. Click License Manager n the ribbn. The Timeline Enterprise Registratin pp-up windw appears. Figure 9: The Timeline Enterprise Registratin pp-up windw (Dynamics CRM 2011 envirnment shwn). 4. Open the license file using Ntepad and cpy all f the cntent within it int the blank text bx n the Timeline Enterprise Registratin interface. 5. Click Apply t apply the license. The Timeline Enterprise License Agreement pp-up windw appears. 13 6. Select the I accept the terms in the license agreement checkbx, and then click Save. 7. After the license applied successfully, the license infrmatin is displayed in the License Details area. Prduct The prduct infrmatin that the license is applied t. License Type Display the license type infrmatin. Dem The validity perid is 30 days. Enterprise The frmal license t register the prduct. The validity perid in this License is accrding t yur purchase. Number f User Licenses The maximum number f users that are allwed t cnnect t the Dynamics CRM Server where this slutin resides. Organizatin GUID The GUID f the rganizatin that has installed the Micrsft Dynamics CRM. This is used when yu want t purchase the Enterprise license. 14 Creating a Prfile T create a new AvePint Timeline Prfile, refer t the instructins belw: 1. In the AvePint Timeline Prfiles tab, click New n the ribbn. 2. In the pp-up windw, cnfigure the fllwing settings: a. Name Enter a name fr the prfile yu are abut t create. b. Owner Specify an wner fr this prfile. The default wner is the lgin user f Dynamics. Click the icn t select anther user r team t wn the prfile. c. Prfile Status Specify a status fr this prfile. Publish t Owner The prfile can nly be used by the wner. Publish t Everyne The prfile can be used by ther users f Dynamics. d. Descriptin Enter an ptinal descriptin fr this prfile. 3. Click Save t save the newly-created prfile. Helpful Ntes fr Prfiles The fllwing situatins explain when and which AvePint Timeline Prfile will be used by Timeline. Only the Publish t Owner prfiles exist in Dynamics If the user that lgs int Timeline is the wner f ne f the prfiles, the prfile whse wner is this user will be used by Timeline. If the user that lgs int Timeline is the wner f mre than ne prfile, the prfile whse wner is this user and mdified time is the latest will be used by Timeline. If the user that lgs int Timeline is nt the wner f the Publish t Owner prfiles, the default settings will be used t lad the specified entities and activities in Timeline. If nly Publish t Everyne prfiles exist in Dynamics, the prfile with the latest mdified time will be used by Timeline. Bth the Publish t Owner and Publish t Everyne prfiles exist in Dynamics If the user that lgs int Timeline is the wner f mre than ne Publish t Owner prfile, the Publish t Owner prfile whse wner is this user and mdified time is the latest will be used by Timeline. 15 Editing Prfiles If the user that lgs int Timeline is nt the wner f the Publish t Owner prfile, the Publish t Everyne prfile that has the latest mdified time will be used by Timeline. If neither Publish t Owner nr Publish t Everyne prfile exists in Dynamics, the default settings will be used t lad the specified entities and activities in Timeline. Yu can edit yur created prfiles by clicking Cnfigure n the Manage grup. The Edit Prfile pp-up windw appears. In the Edit Prfile windw, cnfigure the settings belw: Entity Page Specify the rles and the entities f each rle that yu want t use in Timeline. Rle Categry Specify the rles that yu want t use in Timeline and specify the crrespnding entities f each rle. The default rles are: Sales, Marketing, and Service. Yu can view and manage the infrmatin f the rles in Timeline. Manage rles Click t add a new rle. Click next t each rle t edit the crrespnding rle. Click next t each rle t remve the crrespnding rle, and the remved rle will be restred t the Entity Explrer. Manage entities Add an entity by dragging ne frm the Entity Explrer and place the entity t the desired place in the Entities f area. T remve entities frm a rle, select the entity, and then click Remve upper right-hand crner f the Edit Prfile interface. Click Sketch Map t view the crrespnding lcatins f the specified rles in Timeline. Yu can change the platfrm f Timeline by clicking Windws 8, ipad, iphne, r Andrid. *Nte: At least ne entity is required fr the specified rles, r yu will nt be able t advance t the next page, even after clicking Next. Entity View The entities selected in the Rle Categry step will be listed in the Entity field. Specify the views fr each entity. Add a view by dragging ne frm the View Explrer and place the view t the desired place in the View area. Click each view in the View Explrer. The Entity Tile Preview f the view appears under the view. Click Sketch Map t view the crrespnding lcatins f the specified entities in Timeline. Yu can change the platfrm f Timeline by clicking Windws 8, ipad, iphne, r Andrid. Timeline Page Specify the filter types, activity pririty, activity details, milestne, and cntact details that yu want t use in Timeline. Filter Types Specify the activity filter infrmatin. View different activities by selecting different filters in Timeline. There are tw kinds f filter types: General Timeline Enterprise fr Micrsft Dynamics CRM Install and Cnfig 15

16 Type and Others. Add a filter by dragging ne frm the Activity & Nte Explrer and place the filter t the desired place. Click Remve t remve the selected filter. And the remved filter will be restred t the explrer. Click Sketch Map t view the crrespnding lcatins f the specified filters in Timeline. Yu can change the platfrm f Timeline by clicking Windws 8, ipad, iphne, r Andrid. Activity Pririty Specify the pririty f the activity r nte. The activities r ntes are displayed accrding t different pririties in Timeline. There are five pririties: Open, Cmpleted, Canceled, Scheduled, and Default. The default pririty is the Default pririty. Add a field t the pririty by dragging ne frm the Field Explrer. Click Remve t remve the selected field. Click Sketch Map t view the crrespnding lcatins f the specified pririties in Timeline. Yu can change the platfrm f Timeline by clicking Windws 8, ipad, iphne, r Andrid. *Nte: Only ne field can be added t each pririty. Activity Details Specify the detailed infrmatin f each activity. The activity will be cnfigured by the specified fields in Timeline. Overview is the default view f activities displayed in Timeline. Only tw fields can be added t Overview. Detailed Header and Detailed Bdy are displayed in the detailed infrmatin f an activity in Timeline. Add a field by dragging ne frm the Field Explrer and place the field t the desired place. Click Remve t remve the selected field. Click Sketch Map t view the crrespnding lcatins f the specified activity details in Timeline. Yu can change the platfrm f Timeline by clicking Windws 8, ipad, iphne, r Andrid. Milestne Specify the milestne infrmatin f the entities. The milestne will be displayed in the time line when yu enter an entity in Timeline. Click Sketch Map t view the crrespnding lcatins f the specified milestnes in Timeline. Yu can change the platfrm f Timeline by clicking Windws 8, ipad, iphne, r Andrid. Cntact Details Specify the detailed infrmatin f each activity f Cntacts. The activity s infrmatin will be displayed in the Cntacts interface f Timeline. Add a field by dragging ne frm the Field Explrer and place the field t the desired place. Click Remve t remve the selected field. And the remved field will be restred t the explrer. Click Sketch Map t view the crrespnding lcatins f the specified Cntact details in Timeline. Yu can change the platfrm f Timeline by clicking Windws 8, ipad, iphne, r Andrid. 17 Cnfiguring the Security Rle After the AvePint Timeline Enterprise slutin is imprted int Dynamics, the AvePint Timeline Enterprise User Accunt rle will be autmatically created in Dynamics. Only users wh have this security rle r a security rle that has higher permissins than the AvePint Timeline Enterprise User Accunt can use AvePint Timeline Prfile in Timeline. Users wh d nt have sufficient permissins will use the default prfile in Timeline. Refer t the instructins belw t assign security rles t users. *Nte: Users wh have the System Administratr security rle can assign security rles t ther users. 1. Navigate t Settings > System > Administratin > Users/Teams. 2. Click a user/team in the User tab, r select a user/team and click Edit n the ribbn. 3. In the detailed infrmatin page f the selected user/team, click Security Rles under the Cmmn title. 4. Click Mange Rles. The Manage Team Rles r Manage User Rles pp-up windw appears. 5. By default, the AvePint Timeline Enterprise User Accunt rle is displayed. 19 Installing Timeline n a Windws 7 Operating System T install Timeline n a Windws 7 Operating System, fllw the instructins belw: *Nte: The server where yu install Timeline must have.net Framewrk 4.0 r abve installed. 1. Dwnlad the AvePint_Timeline_fr_CRM_Serial_Number.msi file by cntacting an AvePint representative fr links t the package. 2. Cpy the.msi file t the server that has the Windws 7 perating system installed. 3. Duble-click the AvePint_Timeline_fr_CRM_Serial_Number.msi file n the server. *Nte: Yu can manage Grup Plicy fr yur Windws 7 Operating System installatin using the.msi file. 4. The Welcme interface f the AvePint Timeline fr Dynamics CRM Setup appears. Figure 14: The Welcme interface. 5. Click Start t install Timeline immediately. 6. 20 7. In the Install Lcatin interface, click the flder icn t specify a lcatin t install Timeline. Then click Install t start installing Timeline. Figure 16: The Install Lcatin interface. 8. After the installatin finishes, click Launch t g t the lgin page f Timeline and clse this interface. Or click Clse t clse this interface immediately withut launching Timeline. 21 Cnfiguring Star and Open in Timeline Settings The Star and Open in Timeline settings are cnfigured autmatically after the AvePint Timeline Enterprise slutin is imprted int Micrsft fr Dynamics CRM. If desired, yu can manually cnfigure these settings. Refer t the instructins belw: 1. In the AvePint Timeline Prfiles tab, click Other Settings n the ribbn. 2. In the Other Settings pp-up windw, cnfigure the settings belw: Open in Timeline Specify the entities that yu want t pen in Timeline frm Dynamics CRM. Add an entity by dragging ne frm the Entity Explrer and place the entity t the desired place in the Entity area. The Activities ptin is als regarded as an entity in this interface. Click Remve t remve the selected entity and restre the entity t the explrer. Star Specify the entities that yu want t enable the Star functinality. Add an entity by dragging ne frm the Entity Explrer and place the entity t the desired place in the Entity area. The Activities ptin is als regarded as an entity in this interface. Click Remve t remve the selected entity and restre the remved entity t the explrer. 3. After cnfiguring the settings, click Save t save changes. The Star Functinality Use the Star functin t tag entity recrds and recrds as imprtant recrds bth in Dynamics and Timeline. All starred recrds are synchrnized between Dynamics and Timeline. Filter the starred recrds by using the Starred filter in Timeline. T cnfigure the Star setting, refer t the instructins belw: Access the entity that has enabled the Star functinality, select ne r mre recrds and click Star in the Timeline grup n the ribbn, and then select the Star ptin frm the drp-dwn list. The selected recrds will be marked with star in Timeline. Select the UnStar ptin frm the drp-dwn list, the selected recrds will be cancelled the mark. Access a recrd f the entity that has enabled the Star functinality, and click Star in the Timeline grup n the ribbn. This recrd will be marked with star in Timeline. Access the activity whse related entity has enabled the Star functinality, and click Star in the Timeline grup n the ribbn. The recrd f this activity will be marked with star in Timeline. 22 The Open in Timeline Functinality Use the Open in Timeline functin t launch the selected Timeline interface when yu pen an entity recrd r activity recrd. T cnfigure the Open in Timeline setting, refer t the instructins belw: Access the entity that has enabled the Open in Timeline functinality, select ne recrd and click Open in Timeline in the Timeline grup n the ribbn. The interface f the selected recrd in Timeline will pp up. Access a recrd f the entity that has enabled the Open in Timeline functinality, and click Open in Timeline in the Timeline grup n the ribbn. The interface f this recrd in Timeline will pp up. Access the activity whse related entity has enabled the Open in Timeline functinality, and click Open in Timeline in the Timeline grup n the ribbn. 23 The Starred Recrds Bulk Delete Jb After the Star functinality is cnfigured, the AvePint Timeline Starred Recrds Bulk Delete jb will be created autmatically in Dynamics. When an entity recrd r activity recrd is starred, a recrd will be created autmatically t recrd this actin. This recrd will nt be deleted even when the crrespnding entity recrd r activity recrd has been deleted frm Dynamics. The AvePint Timeline Starred Recrds Bulk Delete jb is used t delete such recrds frm Dynamics. This jb will run accrding t the default recurrence. Yu can mdify the jb recurrence and manage (Pstpne, Pause, Resume, r Cancel) yur jbs. Refer t the instructins belw: 1. Navigate t Settings > System > Data Management > Bulk Recrd Deletin. 2. In the Bulk Recrd Deletin page, select the Recurring Bulk Deletin System Jbs view in the drp-dwn list. 3. The AvePint Timeline Starred Recrds Bulk Delete jb is displayed and in Waiting status. 4. 24 6. In the Mdify Recurrence pp-up windw, mdify the settings as desired. Never This bulk deletin system jb will nt be used. Tday at Specify a time and the bulk deletin system jb will run at the specified time tday. Schedule recurrence Specify the time perid and start time fr this jb.
