Add a Reporting Fragment to an Object This KB article was written on the back of creating a reporting fragment and associating it to an object on a Windows 64bit install of OpenPages Prior to adding a reporting fragment to an object, you need to select the report from Command with the component that you want and also which object type, profile and object view will be associated with the reporting fragment field. In our example we are going to add the bar chart from the Risk Assessment Status report from the OpenPages v6 Solutions folder, which shows the number of risks against a Business Entity and the status that the risk assessment is in (e.g. Not Started, Approved). This Reporting Fragment will be sown on the Business Entity Details screen within OpenPages. The pre-requisites are that we are logging into with the OpenPagesAdministrator account, and have also logged into CommandCenter with the same account on 1. The first thing to do is to add the reporting fragment field into an existing field group or a new field group. In our example we will add it to the OPSS-RA field group that is in OpenPages for Risk Assessments, which means that we have to have System Admin Mode set to Enabled to add the new field group. If you were adding to a new field group you would not need System Admin Mode enabled. 2. On the Field Definitions table within the Field Group Information click on Add... and enter the Name and Description of the Reporting Fragment, the from the drop down menu select the Data Type 'Reporting Fragment' and click on the >> button. Keep the above window open as we will need this again.

3. In CommandCenter navigate through to where the report is held that you want to use in your reporting fragment. In our example our report is in Public Folders > OpenPages Solutions V6 > Risk Assessment Reports > Risk Assessment Status. Click on the first icon under the actions section on the line that is the name of the report that you are using. If you hover on this icon it will say 'Set Properties Risk Assessment Status' 4. When you are on the set properties page of the report, click on the General tab (you may be on this already). Then click on the 'View the search path, ID and URL' link as shown below This will bring a pop-up window that will have the Search path. Copy this path from the CommandCenter window and paste into the Report Path window back in the OpenPages window which we left open previously. Close the pop up window and set properties window in CommandCenter, but don't close CommandCenter.

5. Next we need to define the Fragment name which we get from the report in CommandCenter. Click on the triangle icon (3rd icon under actions). This will open the report in Report Studio. Select the component that you want to show as your Reporting Fragment in OpenPages. In our example we want to show the bar graph in OpenPages. With the bar graph highlighted in the main part of the Report Studio screen, the properties screen on the left should be populated. The title bar should display Combination Chart' or the name of the component you have selected. If the display shows a sub-component (e.g. List Column Body) click on the Up arrow next to Properties to get to the component menu. Once you have your component selected in the properties, scroll down through the properties until you get to Miscellaneous highlighted in bold. The name field underneath Miscellaneous is the name that we need to copy into our Reporting Framework field type. In our example this is Combination Chart1. Paste this into the Fragment name field back on the OpenPages window.

6. The next task is to define the object id prompt. This step is only required if the report that you have selected within CommandCenter requires a user to select a resource (e.g. Business Entity) in order for the report to run. In our example, the user is prompted to select the business entity in order to see which risks are still outstanding to be assessed. Click on the Page Explorer and click on Prompt Pages > Prompt Page 1.

Highlight the Business Entity box and this will populate the Properties section on the left hand side of the screen. Scroll down to the General header in the properties area and look for the Parameter field. In my example this is Entity. This value needs to be added to the Object ID Prompt back in OpenPages The reporting fragment could be created at this point if needs be. 8. There are extra steps to take if the report selected requires the user to select a reporting period. This is done the same way as getting the Object ID prompt. It is ok for this to be left blank if it is not required. 9. The final optional step before creating the reporting fragment is setting the height and width of the reporting fragment on the object screen. If this is left blank the window will be sized automatically.

10. In order to see the Reporting Fragment on the object screen, first we have to make sure that the field group is associated with the object type. This is done by going in OpenPages to Administration > Object Types. Then in the Included Field Groups table click on include and select the field group where the reporting fragment has been setup. 11. We then have to make sure that the profile that is being used in OpenPages has access to view this field group for that object type. Go to Administration > Profiles and select the profile that needs this view. Find the Object Type (in my example SOXBusEntity) and click this. On the Object Type Information screen, in the Object Fields table click on Include and select your reporting fragment from the list of available Object Fields. 12. The last step requires staying on the Object Type Information screen, go to the Object Views setting and select Detail. In the Business Entity table click on the Choose Fields button and tick the reporting fragment field that you created, Click on apply and then click on Save. In order to see this reporting fragment, we need to go into the Business Entities screen in my example. This is done from the Navigation Bar selection Organization > Business Entities. Select one of the business entities to get into the Business Entity Details screen. If successful the reporting fragment that we have created will be shown on the object details screen.
