ICB FAQ v6.0 Slot Shop ivizion FAQs Section 1 1 Frequently Asked Questions 1.1 Can I Swap a Bill Validator from One Game to Another for Troubleshooting? Yes, but ICB should be disabled before swapping units, in order to prevent the unit from writing the wrong machine number to the Cash Box in the Game with the tilt. Once the unit is swapped, the proper asset number will have to be programmed, and ICB re-enabled. 1.2 How do I assign or change an asset number and enable ICB? 1. Connect a USB cable from a laptop equipped with the JCM Tool Suite software application to the Bill Validator. 2. Launch the JCM Tool Suite application, and select Utility from the drop-down list at the bottom of the Service Mode window. 3. Click ICB Setting and type the machine number in the Set M/C dialog box, then click Set M/C. 4. Verify that the machine number you entered is displayed in the Get M/C dialog box, then click Enable in the Enable/Disable section to enable ICB. 1.3 I installed a new Bill Validator, but it won t cycle. What should I do? 1. Remove the head and transport from the game. 2. After removing the head, look through the plastic cover on the top of the transport (which sits just below the head) to verify that the RS-232C and Photo Coupler DIP switches are properly set. Note: Konami, WMS Gaming, and IGT product configurations should be set to P (Photo Coupler), while Bally Technologies, Aristocrat, and some other OEMs use the RS-232 or R settings. 3. Connect to the Bill Validator via Tool Suite and verify that the Bill Validator has the correct Flash ROM Version and Protocol ID installed. 4. Note any flashing LEDs that may appear on the Transport front panel. Refer to the Quick Reference Guide to identify and resolve the Error Type. 1.4 My Bill Validator continuously flashes yellow. What should I do? Thoroughly clean the head and transport with a lint-free cloth. Use compressed air to help clean an extremely dirty unit. 1.5 The ivizion Transport displays 3 blue flashes. What should I do? This display indicates an ICB Read/Write Error. Make sure the Bill Validator is programmed with the correct asset number, and that ICB is enabled. Note: If the three (3) blue flashes continue, order an Emergency drop of the Cash Box. 1.6 The ivizion Transport displays 4 blue flashes. What should I do? This display indicates an ICB Data Error. Make sure the Bill Validator is programmed with the correct asset number, and that ICB is enabled. Note: If the four (4) blue flashes continue, order an Emergency drop of the Cash Box. 1.7 The ivizion Transport displays 5 blue flashes. What should I do? This display indicates that there is an Asset Number mismatch between the ivizion unit and Cash Box. Make sure the Bill Validator is programmed with the correct asset number, and that ICB is enabled. Note: If the five (5) blue flashes continue, order an Emergency drop of the Cash Box. 1-1

2 Frequently Asked Questions 2.1 Can I Swap a UBA from One Game to Another for Troubleshooting? Yes, but DIP Switches 1, 3 and 8 should be set to ON before being installed in a different game. The asset number ticket from the game that the UBA is swapped into must be inserted into the UBA. The UBA will hold the ticket for 3-5 seconds, then reject it. Three (3) green flashes on the front of the UBA indicate that the ticket was accepted. 2.2 How do I assign or change an asset number and enable ICB on a UBA? 1. Set DIP Switches 1, 3, and 8 to ON. 2. Power cycle the UBA. 3. Insert an Asset Number ticket into the UBA. The UBA will accept and hold the ticket for 3-5 seconds, and then reject it. Note: If the UBA front panel flashes green three (3) times, the ticket was accepted. 4. Insert an Enable ticket into the UBA to enable ICB. The UBA will accept and hold the ticket for 3-5 seconds, and then reject it. Note: If the UBA front panel flashes green three (3) times, the ticket was accepted. 5. Set DIP Switches 1, 3 and 8 to OFF. 6. Power cycle the UBA. 2.3 I installed a new UBA in a game, but it won t cycle. What should I do? 1. Make sure that the RS-232/Photo Coupler isolation jumpers are properly configured. To do so: a. Remove the Transport from the Game, and then turn it over to access the JP-1, JP-2 and JP-3 jumpers. Note: If the UBA has a bottom dust cover, remove it to access jumpers JP-1, JP-2, and JP-3. ICB FAQ v6.0 Slot Shop UBA FAQs Section 2 b. Configure JP-1, JP-2 and JP-3 to support Photo-Coupler or RS-232C isolation: Photo-Coupler isolation (for IGT, Konami, and WMS products): Pins 1 and 2 on JP-1, JP-2 and JP-3 should be shorted. RS-232C isolation: Pins 2 and 3 on JP-1, JP-2 and JP-3 should be shorted. c. Reinstall the Transport into the Game. 2. Connect a USB cable from a laptop equipped with the JCM Tool Suite software application to the UBA. 3. Launch the JCM Tool Suite application, and select Utility from the drop-down list at the bottom of the Service Mode window. 4. Verify that the UBA has the correct Flash ROM Version and Protocol ID installed. 5. Note the number of Red flashes on the UBA front panel. Refer to the UBA Units Quick Reference Guide to identify the Error Type and solution. 2.4 The UBA cycles continuously after enabling ICB. What should I do? This condition typically occurs only in games that have become dirty with increased use. 1. Remove the UBA from the Game. 2. Thoroughly clean the unit using compressed air, in addition to mild soap and water on a lint-free cloth and acid brush. Note: A dust kit should be installed in each unit operating in a high dust environment. 2-1

ICB FAQ v6.0 Slot Shop General Bill Validator FAQs Section 3 3 Frequently Asked Questions 3.1 I generated a Duplicate Asset Report in Web Reports, and I see two games with the same Asset Number. Why did that happen, and how do I identify the game with the wrong Asset Number? When two games have the same Asset Number, this condition typically occurs after swapping Bill Validators during Troubleshooting following an ICB installation. Before a Bill Validator is swapped from one Game into another, the Asset Number must be changed to the Asset Number of the Game that the Validator will be installed in. This procedure prevents the wrong Asset Number from being recorded in the Cash Box of the Game experiencing the Tilt condition, and it should also be followed when installing a new Bill Validator into a game. To determine which machine has the wrong Asset Number assigned to it: 1. Contact the casino s Finance Department, and provide authorized Finance Department personnel with the duplicate Asset Number. 2. Finance Department personnel can generate a Revenue Report in Web Reports to verify the amount of revenue in each Cash Box from the Games with the same Asset Number. 3. Using this information, Finance Department staff members will compare the revenue from each Cash Box to the meters in the Machine Accounting Application to identify matching revenues and corresponding game numbers. 3.2 How can I determine which Firmware version is installed in each of my Bill Validators across the casino floor? To identify the Firmware Version installed in your casino s Bill Validators: 1. Generate a Validator Version Report in Web Reports. 2. A summary of all versions of Firmware installed on the casino floor appears along the left side of the Report. The report also specifies the total number of units supporting each version of Firmware. 3-1

4 Frequently Asked Questions 4.1 When two Games appear in the Revenue Report with the same Asset Number, or when Slot Department staff members advise that two or more Games have the same Asset Number in their reports, how can I identify which Bill Validator has the wrong Asset Number? 1. Note the amount of revenue from each Game with the same Asset Number. 2. Compare the revenue amounts to the meters in the machine accounting application. Matches in Machine Accounting will help identify which Games the contents belong to. 4.2 What should I do if a Game reports exaggerated revenue, in the millions of dollars? There may be a problem with the ICB module on the Cash Box. To resolve this issue: 1. Note the Cash Box number displayed in the Revenue Report in Web Reports. 2. Monitor the Cash Box during the next drop. Note: If the Cash Box continues to report revenue incorrectly, it should be removed from service and sent to the Slot Shop for repair. 3. Notify the Count Room Manager about the suspect Cash Box number. The Manager can set up an alert in the MDM application that will display a message and sound an alarm when that specific Cash Box is docked during the next count. ICB FAQ v6.0 Finance FAQs Section Some Games aren t showing up in the Revenue Report after the drop. What should I do? On occasion, some Games may not appear in the Revenue Report following a drop. In most cases, this may be because a Cash Box was not docked properly or was removed early, resulting in a checksum error. To verify whether this condition may have occurred: 1. Examine the System Log for the same drop date. Note: The System Log displays a summary of errors that occurred during the count, which appears along the left side of the report. 2. Add the number of checksum errors to the total number of Cash Boxes downloaded. 4-1

ICB FAQ v6.0 Information Technology (IT) FAQs Section 5 5 Frequently Asked Questions 5.1 The MDM Application creates ICB files after each count. Where are those files stored, and how can they be backed up? To verify the location where the files are stored: 1. Launch the MDM Application. 2. Go to Administration > System Settings. 3. For a list of locations where the files are stored, go to Data Placement Directories. Notes: To back up this directory: Add a network share that is backed up daily to this list. (Make sure that all users who login to this PC have write permissions to this network share.) OR Use Windows Task Scheduler to schedule regular backups of the local c:\data folder. 2. Make sure that the SQL Server service is running on the Web Reports PC. If it is, try restarting IIS. 3. Try to login to SQL Server using the sa account. Then try to access the Web Reports database. Note: If you cannot login using the sa account, login using Windows authentication, then check to see if the sa account is locked out. If the sa account is locked out, unlock it. Then try to access the Web Reports application. If the sa account is not locked out, open the Web.config file within the c:\inetpub\wwwroot/ ICBWebReportsII virtual directory on the IIS Server to locate the password. Then change the sa account password within SQL Server to match the Web.config file. 5.2 How can I determine which COM port is being used by a particular Read Write Tool (docking station)? To verify the COM Port setting used by a docking station: 1. Launch the MDM Application. 2. Go to Administration > System Settings. 3. Verify that each COM Port listed under Station Status appears green. 4. Turn off one Docking Station, and watch for one of the listed COM Ports to turn RED. Make a note of the COM Port setting for the Docking Station that was powered off. 5. Repeat Step 4 as needed with other Docking Stations. 5.3 I can no longer access Web Reports. What should I do? 1. Make sure that the IP Address has not changed on the PC where the Web Reports application is installed. 5.4 How do I add a new User to Web Reports? The method to add a new User to Web Reports depends on the Web Reports authentication configuration setting. Local Authentication If Web Reports is configured to provide Local Authentication, login as an Administrator, to add or remove a User and assign roles under the Administration tab. Active Directory (AD) Authentication If Web Reports is configured for Active Directory (AD) Authentication, an AD user with admin rights in Web Reports will need to login to Web Reports, then add or remove User names. Note: When you create a new User, the name must match the AD User name exactly. 5-1

Section 5 ICB FAQ v6.0 Reference Guide Information Technology FAQs Active Directory (AD) Authentication with User Synchronization If Web Reports is configured for Active Directory (AD) Authentication with User Synchronization, you will only need to add the User to the AD WebReports Group. Note: To delete a User, remove the User from the AD WebReports group. Active Directory (AD) Authentication with User and Role Synchronization If Web Reports is configured for Active Directory (AD) Authentication with User and Role Synchronization, you will need to add the User to either the Admin Role, Slots Role or Accounting Role AD WebReports Group, depending on the role that the user is assigned. Note: To remove a User, reverse this process. 5.5 What is the SQL Server Password? Login to the SQL Server using Windows authentication. Note: The sa account password can be accessed in the Web.config file, if needed. 5.6 How can I backup the Web Reports database? Since MS SQL Server 2005 Express does not include a backup utility, you should configure Windows Backup and Recovery to backup the ICBWebReportsII database under c:\program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\ MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data on a daily schedule. 5-2

6 Frequently Asked Questions 6.1 A Cash Box won t dock properly. What should I do? 1. Dock the Cash Box a second time. 2. If the MDM application continues to time out while pulling the data from the Cash Box OR for a Cash Box that displays Box No Response on the MDM screen, set the Cash Box aside for 15 minutes, then dock it again. 6.2 Why is Setup Mode displayed on the Docking Station window? The Docking Station may have slipped into its Configuration Mode. To resolve it: 1. Disconnect the Serial Cable from the back of the Docking Station connected to the PC. 2. Power off the Docking Station, then power it on again. ICB FAQ v6.0 Count Room General FAQs Section 6 Note: A Cash Box that displays this behavior should be pulled from service and sent to the Slot Shop for repair. Note: The Setup Mode status message should disappear from the display after the Docking Station is powered on again. 3. Reconnect the Serial Cable to the back of the Docking Station connected to the PC. 6.3 Why does the MDM application display Printer Error? 1. Make sure the Docking Station is securely connected to the Printer via Serial Cable, and that the connections have not come loose. 2. Make sure the Printer is turned on and full of tickets. 3. Power off the Docking Station, then power it on again. 4. Watch the display on the front of the Docking Station, and make sure the Printer Type displayed on the Docking Station display matches the type of printer connected. Note: If the Printer Error display is not corrected, contact your IT Technician for assistance. 6.4 Why did the Printer print a 0 Asset Number on the Ticket after a Cash Box was docked properly? The Cash Box may not have an Asset Number stored in it, or a checksum error may have occurred. In this event, try docking the Cash Box a second time. 6.5 Why are all the Cash Boxes showing up as orphan cans in the Drop Utility Report? The MDM application may not have been properly configured, or the location of the Drop Utility database may have changed. In this event, contact your IT technician for assistance. 6.6 Do I have to dock Cash Boxes after they have been emergency-dropped if I know which games they were removed from? Yes - every Cash Box must be properly docked to clear out the old data, and initialize the Cash Box for installation into a different game. 6.7 How can I distinguish between hot and cold Cash Boxes during the drop? One of ICB s major benefits is that any Cash Box can be placed in any game. Marking a Cash Box to create a hot and cold set of cans defeats the purpose of ICB, and slows down the drop. Most drop teams concentrate on one section of the floor at a time, bringing enough cold cans to cover the section they are working in. The team typically splits into groups, with the first group emptying all trolleys with cold Cash Boxes for that section by placing the cold can next to or on top of the Game. The second group will pull hot Cash Boxes and place them into the empty trollies. The first group will follow behind, installing the cold Cash cans in the Games, and locking the cash doors. 6-1

Section 6 ICB FAQ v6.0 Reference Guide Count Room General FAQs 6.8 Finance Department staff members asked me to remove a specific Cash Box number from service, due to repeated errors during Docking. How can I identify the specific Cash Box, since no numbers appear on the Cash Box exterior? To identify a specific Cash Box: 1. Launch the MDM Application. 2. Go to Edit > Preferences > Alerts. 3. In the left column, look for Cashbox Num Found, then select the Message Box option. 4. Click Add next to the Cashbox Numbers window at the bottom of the page. 5. Enter the desired Cash Box number, then click OK. The selected Cash Box number appears in the Cashbox Numbers window. Note: Whenever the specific Cash Box is docked, the Watched Cashbox Number Found message is displayed on the MDM PC. 6. Remove the contents of the Cash Box, and then tag it for repair. 6-2
