1 Ckies: enable, disable r delete ckies The prcedure fr enabling r disabling ckies and deleting them differs depending n yur device and Internet brwser: D yu surf n a cmputer? Enable r disable yur ckies Internet Explrer (versins 5 t 10) On a Windws cmputer The instructins belw are valid n a PC fr all versins f Micrsft Internet Explrer (frm Internet Explrer 5 t 10). Yu first have t knw which Internet Explrer versin yu have: D yu see a gear-wheel at the tp right, under the crss t clse the prgram? In that case, yu have Internet Explrer 9 r 10. D yu see a questin mark at the tp left in the menu bar, but nt the gear-wheel at the tp right? In that case, yu have Internet Explrer 8. D yu see the wrd Help at the tp left, in the menu bar? In that case, yu have anther versin f Internet Explrer. Click Help > Abut Internet Explrer: a windw will pen indicating which versin f the prgram yu have. Internet Explrer 6, 7, 8, 9 and Click Tls > Internet ptins (at the tp left in ld versins f Internet Explrer, at the tp right in recent versins). If yu have Internet Explrer 9 r 10, click the gear-wheel icn at the tp right (belw the red crss t clse the prgram).

2 2. The Internet ptins windw will pen, displaying several tabs: General, Security, Privacy, etc. G t Privacy. 3. Set the vertical slider t Medium privacy, then press the Advanced buttn. 4. The Advanced Privacy Settings windw will pen. 1. First, check the bx "Override autmatic ckie handling" (this allws yu t define yur wn settings). 2. Then, chse hw yu want the different ckies t be handled, i.e. first-party ckies (ckies linked t the dmain name f the website visited), third-party ckies (ckies frm anther dmain name that that f the website visited) and sessin ckies (ckies which are autmatically deleted):

3 If yu check the Accept bx, the ckies will be allwed. If yu check the Blck bx, the ckies will be blcked. If yu check the Prmpt bx, Internet Explrer will ask fr yur authrizatin each time a website tries t send yu a ckie, which ccurs quite ften. 3. Finally, click the OK buttn t cnfirm yur changes and clse the Privacy Settings windw. 5. Clse the Internet ptins windw which remained pen, and click the OK buttn. 6. Clse, then restart Internet Explrer s that the changes can take effect. Firefx (versins 2 t 11) On a Windws r Mac cmputer The instructins belw are valid n a PC r Mac, fr all versins f Mzilla Firefx, frm Firefx 2 t In the menu bar at the tp left, click Tls > Optins. If yu d nt see the menu bar, click the range Firefx buttn at the tp left, then select Optins > Optins in the drp-dwn menu which appears. If yu have a Mac, click Firefx > Preferences The ptins windw will pen with several tabs: General, Tabs, Cntent, Applicatins, Privacy, etc. G t the Privacy tab. 3. Depending n the versin f Firefx installed n yur cmputer, yu may see a Histry drp-dwn menu at the tp f the windw. If s, select "Use custm settings fr histry" in this menu. 4. Then chse hw yur ckies will be handled. Firefx allws yu t blck third-party ckies and accept first-party ckies. Third-party ckies, as ppsed t first-party ckies, cme frm a different dmain name than that frm the website visited. T enable ckies, check the Accept ckies bx (the Accept third-party ckies bx is autmatically checked) and click the OK buttn. T disable ckies, uncheck the Accept ckies bx (the Accept third-party ckies bx is autmatically unchecked) and click the OK buttn. T delete ckies, first click the Shw Ckies buttn. A new windw will pen, displaying all the ckies saved by Firefx. Selet ne r several ckies and click the Remve Ckie buttn. Yu can als click the Remve all ckies buttn (in that case, yu will lse all the preferences saved fr the sites yu have visited). Then click the Clse buttn. 5. Clse the ptins windw which remained pen, and click the OK buttn. 6. Clse, then restart Firefx s that the changes can take effect.

4 Chrme On a Windws r Mac cmputer The instructins belw are valid n a PC r Mac, fr all versins f Ggle Chrme. 1. In the menu bar at the tp left, click Chrme > Preferences... (Mac) r Tls > Optins (Windws). 2. Click the Under the Bnnet tab. 3. In the Privacy sectin, click Cntent settings. 4. Select Allw lcal data t be set, t accept first-party and third-party ckies. If yu nly want t accept first-party ckies, i.e. thse frm the dmain name f the website visitied, check the "Blck all thirdparty ckies withut exceptin" bx. 5. Clse, then restart Chrme s that the changes can take effect. Safari On a Mac cmputer The instructins belw are valid n a Mac OS (Mac cmputer), fr all versins f Apple Safari. 1. In the menu bar at the tp left, click Safari > Preferences. 2. A windw will pen with the Safari ptins. G t the Security tab and then chse hw yur ckies will be handled. 1. If yu check the Always bx, ckies will be allwed. 2. If yu check the Never bx, ckies will be blcked. 3. If yu check the Only frm sites yu navigate t bx, ckies linked t the dmain name f the site visited (first-party ckies) will be accepted and ckies linked t anther dmain name n that site (third-party ckies) will be blcked. T view and delete ckies already saved in Safari, click the Shw Ckies buttn. 3. Clse the ptins windw. 4. Clse, then restart Safari s that the changes can take effect.

5 D yu surf n a mbile r tablet? Enable r disable yur ckies Safari Mbile On iphne and ipad The instructins belw are valid n ios fr iphne r ipad, fr all versins f Apple Safari. 1. In the menu f yur iphne r ipad, click Settings > Safari. 2. Yu will see the settings ptins fr Safari. G t the Privacy sectin and then chse hw yur ckies will be handled. If yu select Always, ckies will be allwed. If yu select Never, ckies will be blcked. If yu check Frm visited, ckies linked t the dmain name f the visited site (first-party ckies) will be accepted and ckies linked t a dmain name ther than that f the visited site (third-party ckies) will be blcked. T delete ckies already saved by Safari, click the Clear Ckies buttn (iphne) r the Clear Ckies and Data buttn (ipad). 3. Clse the settings windw. 4. Clse, then restart Safari s that the changes can take effect. Internet Explrer Mbile On Windws Phne 7 The instructins belw are valid fr Internet Explrer Mbile n Windws Phne In yur phne's menu, click Applicatins > Settings r pen Internet Explrer Mbile and then click the three dts at the bttm left f the screen and pen the settings windw. 2. T enable r disable ckies, check r uncheck the Allw ckies n my phne bx. 3. T delete ckies, click the Delete histry buttn. Yu will nt nly delete the ckies but als all the temprary files saved by yur brwser (dwnlad files cache, histry f pages viewed, etc.). 4. Clse the settings windw. 5. Clse, then restart Internet Explrer Mbile s that the changes can take effect.
