3 3 Introduction Thank you for purchasing Product Labels add-on by Coding Staff! This user guide will lead you through the add-on installation process helping to avoid typical problems and mistakes. IMPORTANT! Before installing the add-on make sure your portal meets the following requirements: 1. CS-Cart version x

4 4 Add-on Installation 1. At first download the pack with the add-on. Before the installation you should do some preparatory actions. 2. Extract add-on pack to any folder on your computer. Then open this folder (on the left) and your site root folder (on the right). 3. Copy the content of downloaded folder addons (folder cs_product_labels ) to folder addons on your site root. 4. Copy the content of folder var (folder skins_repository ) to folder var on your site root. Additional Information! For CS-Cart Ultimate edition all created labels will be available for all stores. Now the add-on is ready for the installation. 4. Log in to your CS-Cart store as administrator. 5. Proceed to Administration -> Add-Ons. 6. Scroll the page down and find CS. Product Labels add-on. Click Install link. The add-on is successfully installed.

5 5 Automatic Labels After the add-on is installed it is ready to use. Product Labels add-on contains 8 types of labels that are automatically attached to images of the products that satisfy certain conditions. What is important, not only one but two labels can be attached to one product at the same time. To learn more about available label types see the table below. Label type NEW SALE %OFF HOT POPULAR ALMOST GONE OUT OF STOCK FREE SHIPPING Description This label is automatically attached to all products which are new in your store. Editing the label you can enter the number of days the label will be displayed on a product. This label is automatically attached to all products from Promotions list and to products that have discounts. You need to create a Promotion or edit «List price» for the products that need to be labeled. Editing this label type you can set minimum discount for products to receive the label. This label is similar to SALE label. It is automatically attached to the products from Promotions list and to products with discount. Editing this label type you can set minimum discount for products to receive the label. This label is displayed on the products which are well sold. Editing this label you can set the number of days and the quantity of the product. All the products sold during this specified period of time in a defined amount will automatically receive label HOT. This label is similar to HOT label and automatically attached to the products which are sold during the specified period in a defined amount. This label is attached to products that are practically sold out. Editing the label type you can set the number of remaining products. This label is automatically displayed on all products which are currently out of stock. This label is automatically attached to the products that are free shipped. (Check box Free shipping in the Shipping Properties of the product). Manage Auto Labels To see the list of all automatic labels and to learn how to manage existing label types follow the steps below: 1. Proceed to Products -> Labels in Administration panel and you will move to the page where you can see all existing labels. (For CS-Cart Ultimate edition first select the store in All stores.)

6 6 2. Fill in the field Priority with integer numbers and specify the priority of the label type display. This will help you to define which labels should be displayed primarily if one product is suitable for more than 2 label types. (The more is the number the higher is the priority). 3. In case you don t need to use some of the label types in your store set the label Status as Disabled. 4. You can edit each label type separately. Click Edit link in front of the corresponding label. Edit Auto Labels Appearance There are 2 ways to edit label appearance: generate auto label manually (edit auto label and choose label form, label color, text font and etc.) upload file for auto label (change the appearance of auto label uploading your own designed image) Generate auto label manually Labels are fully customizable and you can manually change their appearance. Label editing is similar for each label type though some labels have unique fields. Below you can find the list of all label fields and the instructions for editing. 1. Priority field: enter the number (The more is the number the higher is the priority for the label type display).

7 7 2. Duration field: fill in with number of days the label will be active. (Only for New label). 3. Product /Time field: enter the quantity of the product and the number of days. (Only for Hot and Popular labels). 4. Min discount field: enter the percent of minimum discount for a product to receive label %OFF or SALE (e.g. only products with 10% discount and more will receive these labels). 5. Products field: set the number of products for label Almost Gone. The product will receive this label when the number of product items is less or equal to specified number. 6. Label Form field: choose one of 7 possible forms of label. (To see how label forms look like use button Preview on the right.) 7. Position field: сhoose the position of the label on the product image out of 4 variants (top right, top left, bottom left, bottom right). Additional Information! Be careful to set different positions for different label types as long as not only one, but two labels may be attached to one product at the same time. 8. Label Color field: choose any color you want for your label. Do it with the help of color palette.

8 8 9. Label Text field: edit the text displayed on the label. 10. Text Color field: you can as well specify the color of the text on the label. 11. Text Font field: choose the font of your label text out of 14 possible variants. 12. Choose Font size for your label text ( 0 corresponds to the largest size). 13. Specify the Opacity of your label, entering a number from 0 to 100 ( 0 corresponds to full opacity, 100 corresponds to full transparence.) 14. Use Preview button to see how your label will look like. 15. Click Save button to save changes or Save and Close button to complete label editing.

9 9 Upload file for auto label Product Labels add-on gives you the opportunity to replace standard appearance of auto label with the image you upload and skip manual auto label editing. In this case there will be only a few fields to edit. 1. Click Upload file link on Editing Label page. 2. Specify the Name and the Priority for your label. (The more is the number the higher is the priority for the label type display). 3. Choose Position of label on a product image out of 4 possible variants. 4. Upload the file with the image (GIF, BMP, JPG, PNG) of any size and dimensions using one of three possible ways: Local upload a file from your computer Server upload a file from your server URL specify the URL of your image 5. Click Create or Create and Close button to complete label creation.

10 10 Custom Labels Create Custom Label In addition to existing label types you can create your own custom labels. These labels can be attached to any products in your CS-Cart store. There are 2 ways to create a new custom label: generate custom label manually (create new label and choose label form, label color, text font and etc.) upload file for custom label (create a new label and upload the image of your own designed label). To learn how to create and attach custom labels to products follow the steps below: 1. Proceed to Products -> Labels in Administration panel and you will move to the page where you can see all existing and created labels. (For CS-Cart Ultimate edition first select the store in All stores.) 2. Choose Custom labels tab and click Add Custom Labels button to create your own label. Generate custom label manually You can create your own label manually setting its appearance. Follow the steps below to learn how to do it. 1. Provide the Name for your label. (This is not the text that will be displayed on the label. This is the name of created label type.) 2. Set the Priority for a new label. (The more is the number the higher is the priority for the label type display). 3. Choose Label form out of 7 possible variants. (To see how label forms look like use button Preview on the right.)

11 11 4. Choose Position of label on a product image out of 4 possible variants. 5. Choose Label color using color palette. 6. Enter Label text. This is the text that will be displayed on your label. 7. Choose Text color of the text on your label using color palette. 8. Choose Text font for your label text out of 14 possible variants. 9. Choose Font size for your label text ( 0 corresponds to the largest size). 10. Specify the Opacity of your label, entering a number from 0 to 100 ( 0 corresponds to full opacity, 100 corresponds to full transparence.)

12 To see how your new label looks like in the end click Preview button. (You can click this button and preview the label whenever you like as long as you re on this page). Important! Generating a new label takes time. So after first clicking Preview, please, wait a few seconds. 12. Click Create or Create and Close button to complete label creation. Upload file for custom label Uploading your own designed image for a label you can skip manual setting of label appearance. To learn how to upload a file for a label, please, refer to section Upload file for auto label. Attach Custom Label Custom label may be attached to any product in your CS-Cart store. To learn how to attach custom labels follow the steps below: 1. Proceed to Products-> Products in the Administration panel of your website. 2. Choose the product to which you want attach your custom label and click on its name or Edit link. 3. Then choose Add-ons tab. 4. In Labels section you can choose 1 or 2 labels to be attached to this product out of previously created. 5. Click Save or Save and Close button at the bottom of the page.
