2 1 What is EasyCapture-R? 1.1 Purpose of the software It is a software tool to collect comprehensive information about the system and the problem, when software related trouble occurs with ICP-MS MassHunter or ICP Expert. The information is zipped to a single file. You can submit the file to Agilent for investigation. 1.2 Information that is collected Screen capture of the situation. Log folder that MassHunter software generates internally and stores information about errors. MassHunter setting files ICP-MS / ICP OES Model Software/Firmware version PC Model and Configuration 1.3 Information that is NOT collected Batch folder Data file These files may include customer's confidential information, therefore the tool does not collect them automatically. But they are also important information for troubleshooting, so it is recommended to collect them manually and submit with the ZIP file, in case customers can give permission. 2 System Requirements 2.1 ICP-MS Agilent 7900, 7800, 7700, 8800, and 8900 ICP-MS 2.2 ICP-OES Agilent 5100, MassHunter G7201B or G7201C. If MassHunter software has not been installed, software correct information except for MassHunter related one, such as PC hardware and installed programs. 2.4 ICP Expert 7.x. As default, it is same location as the executable file of EasyCapture-R. 5 Version: Displays the version of EasyCapture-R. 6 Progress: On executing "Archive", displays current progress as Completed # of tasks/ Required # of tasks. 7 Displays # of currently acquired screen copies. After "Archive" is executed, the current screen copies are moved to the archive and the number is reset to zero. 4 How to use (case 1) - In case you are actually facing a software error now 4.1 Download the zip file for the software and extract its contents in any folder. 4.2 Right click ezcapture.exe and select "Run as administrator" from the context menu. 4 4.3 Click "Screen Copy" in the "Easy Capture-R" window. 4.4 If MassHunter is displaying 2 windows, Instrument control and Online DA, bring the hidden window to the front and screen copy (6.3). For example, if Instrument control is in front and DA is back at the timing of 6.3, bring DA to the front to perform screen copy of DA. 4.5 Click "Screen Copy" in the "Easy Capture-R" window. 4.6 Click "Archive" in the "Easy Capture-R" window. 4.7 Wait until the operation completes (Progress is displayed like 20/20). 4.8 Close "Easy Capture-R" 4.9 Confirm a ZIP file with a name like "MHInfo zip" has been generated in the same folder as ezcapture.exe Retrieve the ZIP file. 5 How to use (case 2) - In case you know certain steps to reproduce the error 5.1 Download the zip file for the software and extract its contents in any folder. 5.2 Right click the ezcapture.exe and select "Run as administrator" from the context menu. 5.3 On the MassHunter software operate the steps to reproduce the error.
