4 Delphi Workstation Setup Guide Section 1 Introduction Overview This guide explains how to run Workstation Setup for version 9.5.x of the following Newmarket International products: Delphi Select Edition Delphi Single-Property Edition Delphi Multi-Property Edition Delphi Select Multi-Property Edition Delphi Global Sales Edition If you have any problems installing or configuring Workstation Setup, contact Newmarket Support at Installation Requirements Before starting Workstation Setup, you must perform the following tasks: You must have local administrator rights to the client system. Make sure that Internet Explorer version 6.0 SP1 or later is installed on the workstation. Make sure that you have the correct permissions to the Delphi shared folder on the application server, and have a drive mapped to it (N: drive is recommended). Make sure the workstation s monitor resolution is set to 1024X768 or higher. Close all Windows programs on the workstation before starting the setup program. Microsoft Word and Excel version 2003 or 2007 must be installed on the workstation. On each client workstation, confirm that Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is set for all Windows programs and services (see page 7). Installation Checklists Complete the procedures below according to your specific installation scenario. Note: For each client workstation that will be running Delphi as a new installation or upgrade, confirm that Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is set for all Windows programs and services (see page 7). New Installation of Run Workstation Setup on the new workstation. See Procedure 2.2 Set Up the Delphi Workstation on page 6. Upgrade from Version 7.x You need to remove the User DSN, if it exists, on all workstations that are being upgraded from version 7.1.3b. To remove the User DSN, follow these steps: 1. 5 The Run window opens. 2. Type odbcad32 and click OK. The ODBC Data Source Administrator window opens. 3. Click the User DSN tab. 4. Select the NSS-MSSQL data source to highlight it, and click Remove. 5. Click Yes to confirm that you want to remove the NSS-MSSQL data source. 6. Click OK to close the ODBC Data Source Administrator window. 7. Run Workstation Setup on a workstation where Delphi is upgraded from 7.1.x or an earlier version. See Procedure 2.2 Set Up the Delphi Workstation on page 6. Upgrade from Version 9.x or Later Delphi Upgraded on Same Server When you upgrade from Delphi version 9.x or later on the same server, you must remap the appropriate drive from the NGS share to the new Delphi share on the server. The workstation update will then start automatically the first time the new version of Delphi is opened. See Procedure 2.1 Update the Delphi Workstation on page 6. Delphi Upgraded on Different Server When you upgrade from Delphi version 9.x or later on a different server, you must run Workstation Setup. See Procedure 2.2 Set Up the Delphi Workstation on page 6. New Installation of Diagrams When you install Diagrams for the first time on the server, you must configure the workstation. See Procedure Install Diagrams on the Client Workstation on page 8. Upgrade of Diagrams When you upgrade from a previous version of Diagrams, you must uninstall the current version of Diagrams. 6 Section 2 Workstation Setup Procedures Procedure 2.1 Update the Delphi Workstation 1. At the workstation, double-click the Newmarket product icon. A message box opens, informing you that the Delphi application on this workstation needs to be updated. 2. Click OK. 3. In the message box that opens, click Yes to indicate that you want to continue with the workstation upgrade. Procedure 2.2 Set Up the Delphi Workstation This procedure explains how to set up a client workstation to run Newmarket 9.5.x products on a computer running Windows XP, 2003, 2008 or Vista. The Workstation Setup program also lets you enable , DelphiSync, and Market Vision. Before enabling Delphi s functionality, you must configure the client s application on the server. Assumptions This procedure assumes that the application server is configured to run Newmarket 9.5.x products, and that the workstation installation requirements (see page 4) have been met. Procedure Run the Workstation Setup Program 1. Map a network drive from the workstation to the Delphi folder on the application server. Note: Newmarket suggests that you select the N: drive. 2. In the Setup\Delphi Workstation Setup folder, double-click Setup.exe. 3. The Welcome window opens. Note: If Microsoft.Net Framework 3.0 is not installed on the workstation, you are prompted to install it. After the installation is complete, you must restart Workstation Setup. 4. Click Next. The Software License Agreement window opens. 5. Click Next. The Supporting Applications window opens. 6. 7 The Select Program Folder window opens. 7. Click Next to accept the default program folder, or specify a different program folder, and then click Next. The Create Shortcuts window opens. 8. Accept the default location for shortcuts and click Next. The Start Configuring Delphi Workstation window opens. 9. Confirm the current settings and click Next. The Installation Complete window opens. 10. Click Close. The InstallShield Wizard Complete window opens. 11. Click Finish. 12. If you installed DelphiSync during Workstation Setup, you must configure Outlook for DelphiSync. See Appendix B Configuring Outlook for DelphiSync on page If necessary, restart the workstation. 14. If you installed Diagrams, you must configure Workstation Setup for Diagrams. See Procedure Install Diagrams on the Client Workstation on page 8. Procedure Set Data Execution Prevention All installations and upgrades require you to set the workstation s Data Execution Prevention (DEP) option to Turn On DEP for Essential Windows Programs and Services Only. 1. Right-click My Computer and click Properties. The System Properties window opens. 2. Click the Advanced tab. 3. In the Performance area, click Settings. The Performance Options window opens. 4. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab. 5. Select the Turn On DEP for Essential Windows Programs and Services Only option. 6. Click OK to close the Performance Options window. 7. Click OK to close the System Properties window. 8. Restart the computer. Procedure Map Workgroup Templates for Word 2007 Clients When Delphi IS NOT mapped to N: Note: This procedure applies to sites that do not have their drive letter mapped to the N: drive. 1. Click the Microsoft Office Options Button, and then click Word Options. 2. On the menu on the left side of the window, click Advanced. 3. Scroll down to the General area, and then click File Locations. The File Locations window opens. 4. Select Workgroup Templates and click Modify. The Modify Location window opens. 5. 8 6. Click OK in the File Locations and the Word Options windows. 7. Close Word. Word will now use this location to search for and attach a template. Procedure 2.3 Configure the Workstation for Diagrams Note: This procedure applies to sites that are using Diagrams. After you have run Workstation Setup for the Delphi 9.x application, you need to configure the workstation for Diagrams. If this is a new Diagrams installation, skip Procedure Uninstall Diagrams and proceed to Procedure Install Diagrams on the Client Workstation. If this is a Diagrams upgrade, you must uninstall the older version of Diagrams before installing the new version. See Procedure Uninstall Diagrams. Procedure Uninstall Diagrams Note: Perform this procedure only if you are upgrading an existing version of Diagrams. If you are installing Diagrams for the first time, skip this procedure and proceed to Procedure Install Diagrams on the Client Workstation. 1. On the taskbar, click the Start button, and then click Control Panel. 2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs. 3. Scroll to Delphi Diagrams and click Change/Remove. 4. Click the Uninstall option. 5. Click Next, and then click Finish. Procedure Install Diagrams on the Client Workstation 1. On a workstation mapped to Delphi, open the <Mapped Drive>:\Diagrams\Install folder and double-click Setup.exe. For example, if drive N: is mapped to Delphi, browse to the N:\Diagrams\Install folder and double-click Setup.exe. The Welcome Window opens. 2. Click Next. The Diagrams Installation Information window opens. 3. Click Next. The Customer Information window opens. 4. Enter your user name and click Next. The Choose Destination for Setup window opens. 5. Do one of the following: Click Browse to find the location where you want setup to install the files, and then click Next. Click Next to accept the default install location. The Choose Destination for Shared files window opens. 6. Do one of the following: Click Browse to find the mapped drive on the client that points to the Delphi folder, and then click Next. Click Next to accept the default location. The Setup Type window opens. 7. Choose a setup type, and click Next. 9 8. Type or select a program folder where you want to install the program icons, and then click Next. The Setup Status window opens. When the program files installation is complete, a message box opens and asks if you want to view the Guest Event Management (GEM) module setup instructions. 9. Do one of the following: Click Yes to view the instructions on how to connect to the GEM database in Notepad and open the Data Link Properties window. Click No to proceed to step Click the ellipse button under Step 1. The Select Access Database window opens. 11. 10 12. Click Test Connection. When you successfully connect to the GEM database, a Test connection succeeded message is shown. 13. Click OK to close the message box. Note: If the connection does not succeed, in the Data Link Properties window, click the ellipsis button again to browse to the correct location. 14. Click OK to close the Data Link Properties window. The InstallShield Wizard Complete window opens. 15. Click Finish. Appendix A DelphiSync Installing and Configuring If DelphiSync was not selected as a component of the Workstation Setup installation, you can install and configure DelphiSync at a later time. Installation Requirements Before installing DelphiSync, the following requirements must be met: You must have local administrator rights to the client system. The Outlook 2003 or 2007 client must be previously installed and working on the workstation. Outlook must be closed and not running prior to installing DelphiSync. Installing DelphiSync Components 1. Verify that you have exited Outlook, and disconnected all mobile devices that synchronize with Outlook. 75 New Hampshire Avenue, Portsmouth, NH USA phone: fax:

11 2. Browse to the Delphi share (typically mapped to N:). 3. Open the OutlookIntegrationSetup\Workstation folder, and then double-click DelphiSync.msi. The About to Install DelphiSync window opens. 4. Click Next. The Welcome to the Newmarket DelphiSync Setup Wizard opens. 5. Click Next. The Select Installation Folder window opens. 6. If you want to change the location where DelphiSync will be installed, click the Browse button. 7. Select who should have access to DelphiSync on this computer: Everyone or Just Me. Note: If you are not logged in as the normal user of the workstation, click Everyone. The Confirm Installation window opens. 8. Click Next. 9. When the Installation Complete window opens, click Close. Configuring Outlook for DelphiSync You must now configure Outlook for DelphiSync. 1. Open Outlook. 2. Click the DelphiSync button on the Outlook toolbar. The Delphi Login window opens. Note: If you are a view-only user in Delphi, you do not have access to DelphiSync. Your login must be enabled by a Delphi user with Administrator- or Director-level rights. 3. In the Web Service URL field, enter the URL where the Web service is installed. 12 <IP Address> is the name or IP address of the Web server where the service is installed (in many cases this is the Delphi database server). Example: http: //WEBSERVER/DelphiSync 4. Click OK. The DelphiSync application opens and is ready to use. Appendix B Installation Customizing the Delphi Setup You can customize Workstation Setup to show or suppress setup options, windows, and messages. You can also force the selection of certain options. Open the install.ini file in the Delphi Workstation Setup folder, and specify the appropriate value for each entry in the following sections: Section Entry Description [SkipScreens] UpgradeMessage When Workstation Setup is run on a computer where it has been previously run, a message is displayed that informs the user that Delphi will be upgraded or updated and gives the user the (Yes or No) option to continue. This entry controls the display of the confirmation message. Specify 1 to suppress the message. Omit the value to display the message. Summary License DelphiSyncInstructions Finish This entry controls the display of the Summary window, which allows the user to review selections just before the configuration process begins. Specify 1 to suppress the window. Omit the value to display the window. This entry controls the display of the License window, which is displayed at the beginning of the setup process. Specify 1 to suppress the window. Omit the value to display the window. By suppressing the window, you are accepting the license agreement on behalf of all users installing the Delphi workstation in the environment. When DelphiSync is selected to be installed on the workstation, a window is displayed instructing the user to close Microsoft Outlook and disconnect mobile devices that sync with Outlook before proceeding. This entry controls the display of this window. Specify 1 to suppress the window. Omit the value to display the window. This entry controls the display of the Finish window, which indicates that the configuration process is complete. Specify 1 to suppress the window. Omit the value to display the window. [Shortcuts] Desktop This entry controls the option to create a Delphi shortcut on the workstation desktop. Specify 1 to hide the option and force the creation of a desktop icon. Specify 0 to hide the option and NOT create a desktop icon. Omit the value to display the option to the user. QuickLaunch This entry controls the option to create a Delphi shortcut on the workstation s Quick Launch toolbar. Specify 1 to hide the option and force the creation of a Quick Launch icon. Specify 0 to hide the option and NOT create a Quick Launch icon. Omit the value to display the option to the user. 13 AppFolderName This entry controls the name of the workstation s Start menu program folder where the Delphi shortcut is created. The default name for the program folder is Newmarket International. If a value is specified for this entry, the value will be used to create the program folder, and the Select Program Folder window will be suppressed. [ThirdPartyApps] DelphiSync This entry controls the option to configure DelphiSync client components on the workstation. Specify 1 to hide the option and force the configuration of DelphiSync on the workstation. Specify 0 to hide the option and NOT configure DelphiSync on the workstation. Omit the value to display the option to the user. MarketVision This entry controls the option to configure Market Vision client components on the workstation. Specify 1 to hide the option and force the configuration of Market Vision on the workstation. Specify 0 to hide the option and NOT configure Market Vision on the workstation. Omit the value to display the option to the user. Note: Specifying values for both the DelphiSync and Market Vision entries will suppress the Supporting Applications window. Appendix C Adding MeetingBroker as a Trusted Site When Delphi is integrated with MeetingBroker, you must add MeetingBroker as a trusted site in Internet Explorer. 1. Open Internet Explorer. 2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options. 3. Click the Security tab. 4. Click the Trusted Sites icon. 5. Click the Sites button. 6. In the Add This Website to the Zone box, enter *.meetingbroker.com and click Add. 7. In the Add This Website to the Zone box, enter *.newmarketinc.com and click Add. 8.
