3 1. Installing OLT Check printing software A. Go to and login to your online account. B. Once in your account, go to the Support Tab. C. There will be a link to download Check Printing Software. If the link is not available please call D. Select the link to begin download. E. Select the download icon. If given the option to open or save, OPEN. 9 GETTING STARTED 2. CHECK REGISTER 2.1 The first screen displayed is shown below; select Add/Delete Check range. 2.2 Enter the minimum check number and then the maximum check number and select Add/Delete Check Range from the check stock sent to you by your bank. 2.3 This will display the check range in the stock summary table. 11 3. Setup 3.1 Enter a Configuration Name and check the box to use configuration as default. 3.2 Print a sample check to see how the settings should be adjusted according to your printer. We do not recommend using an actual check. If using an actual check, please note that the check will not show in your check register, so you will need to manually void it later. Once you have a check or test check in your printer, select Print Sample Check. 3.3 If the bottom portion of the check needs adjusting to correct alignment issues, use the Cashiers Check adjustment box to adjust your print settings. 12 3.4 Print sample checks after you adjust the settings to verify the alignment is corrected. Once the alignment issue is corrected, select *Each printer setting will be different. We recommend you use the same printer all tax season for printing checks. 4. AUTHORIZED CHECKS 4.1 An authorized check is a check that has been approved by the bank and an authorization number has been sent for printing approval. Authorized checks will automatically transmit to your check printing software upon bank approval. 4.2 You have several different options to view checks that have been authorized for printing, please see the different search options below. 4.3 To print only specific clients check the box to the left of their name and then Print Selected Checks. 4.4 To print all the authorized checks on your list Select All and then Print Selected Checks. 13 4.5 A verify page will display indicating the check number that will print. If you need to change the check number select Change, and manually enter a check number. The check number entered must be in the check register. Once the check number has been verified, select Print. 4.6 If printing more than one check, verify the checks are in your printer in the order they will print by the check numbers displayed on the screen. Select Print All. 4.7 Once the check(s) are printed, a printing verification screen will display with the time and date the printing began and ended. 4.8 The printed client will then display in your check register with a complete status. 14 5. PRINTED CHECKS 5.1 Printed checks will show several different search options, once a search option has been selected Show User s List to display information. On-Line Taxes, Inc 724 Jules Street St. Joseph, MO Ph:

15 Reprinting a damaged check **YOU MUST HAVE THE WRONGLY PRINTED/DAMANGED CHECK IN YOUR POSSESSION IN ORDER TO VOID AND REPRINT IT. IF THE CHECK WAS LOST, STOLEN OR YOU DO NOT HAVE IT IN YOUR POSSESSION FOR ANY REASON, YOU MUST SELECT IT AS A REISSUE AND CONTACT YOUR BANK FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON REISSUING THE CHECK TO YOUR CLIENT. 5.1 If a check you printed did not print correctly or was damaged in a way that would prevent it from being cashed, you will want to void and reprint the client check. You are only authorized to void/reprint a cashier check if you have the check in hand. 5.2 To select a check for reprint go to Printed Checks. Locate the taxpayer and select, View More Details. 16 5.3 The screen below will display the taxpayer s details. Select Void This Print. 5.4 Enter a brief reason for the void/reprint of the cashier check. Then select yes, I still have the wrongly printed or damaged check, then Save and Close. 5.5 This will void the check number in your register and the client will show again on the authorized check list for reprinting. 17 Lost/Stolen Checks If a taxpayer s check is lost or stolen you will need to contact your bank immediately regarding the reissue of a lost/stolen cashier check. 5.7 If a check is lost/stolen select void this print (5.3) enter the reason for reissue select no that you do not have possession of the cashier check and Save and Close. 5.8 This will update the check status as reissue in your check register. VOIDED/REISSUED 6.1 Voided/Reissued link will allow several different search options, once a search option has been selected Show User s List to display information. 6.2 This will generate a list of users with a void or reissue status and will include the date of cancellation.
