3 What this guide does: This guide will help you to quickly configure and set up the zclock30w, and will briefly summarize the steps to configure the unit wirelessly and access it remotely. Before you get started please ensure you have the following required items at hand. A network router. A computer with internet or intranet access The zclock-30w device The included RJ45 cable The included CMS software To operate the device successfully, please follow instructions sections 1, 2 and 3: I. Networking the zclock-30w. II. Setting up the LAN camera. III. Setting up Wi-Fi camera. For advanced functionality you can further read sections IV & V. IV. Connecting to a camera remotely V. Advanced network configuration VI. Watching videos remotely from the iphone or ipad VII. Video-audio recording into local disk and playback VIII. Motion Activated recording into Memory card NOTE: This guide will not help you with advanced wireless configuration or remote access and streaming. If you need further assistance on these matters, please consult with a network administrator.

4 I. Networking the zclock-30w 1. Ensure the power switch (step 4) on the back of the unit is set to the off position (o), and then plug the unit to an AC outlet. 2. Ensure your computer is connected to the same local network either wirelessly or by cable as shown on diagram below. 3. Connect the unit to your local network using the included RJ45 Ethernet cable (). One end should go to the back of the unit, out to your network router. 4. Power on the unit ( - ).

5 II. Setting up the LAN Camera 1. Install the video playback application CMS Software included in the minidisk and follow the simple installation wizard. This application can also be downloaded from the website: 2. After installation, look for the CMS icon on your desktop to launch the client application, on loading you will be prompted for a user name and password for access. Enter super for User Name, leave the Password field blank, and click on Login. The password and user name can be changed at any time from the application. 3. The application now needs to find the camera in the network. To do this, select System on the bottom right then click on Device manager icon above it. 2 1

6 4. On the Device Manager window, click on the first icon on the top left to add a new zone. 5. You will be prompted to enter a zone name of your choice. 6. Back on the Device Manager window, select the zone you ve just created then click on the Add Devices icon to add cameras to this zone.

7 7. On the new window enter click on IP Search to find cameras in the network. 8. It should find at least 2 cameras with the IP address and These are the zclock30w LAN and wireless addresses. Select each and click on Add Device to add them both to the zone. 2 1

8 NOTICE: If you receive a message Can t find the device, please refer to section V - Advanced network configuration before continuing to step Back on the main program window. Double click the LAN address camera under zone ( ), and then double click on CAM01 under it to activate the camera. You should now see a live footage on the monitor view.

9 III. Setting up the Wi-Fi camera Before adding the wireless device, first follow the steps in section II Setting up a LAN camera. 1. Double click on the wireless camera address , and then select CAM01 under it. Select System on the bottom right menu, and then click on Remote Config icon to launch Device Configuration

10 2. On the Devices Config window, select the camera address , select device icon on the bottom menu, and then click on NetService icon on the list Double click on the Wifi item on the list, to bring up network configuration.

11 4. Click search to find Wireless networks nearby. 5. Select your wireless network then enter your wireless password.

12 6. Back in the main program window; double click on the device to disconnect the camera so the CAM01 underneath it disappears. 7. Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the back of the unit and wait about 30 seconds so the unit will automatically search for a Wi-fi connection. 8. You can now connect to the camera via Wi-Fi mode by double clicking on the device and then on the CAM01 under it to start the video feed.

13 IV. Connecting to camera remotely This procedure may require some basic knowledge network configuration. 1. First set up, the port in device Config menu. Select device , select the CAM01, click on System and Remote Config In Config menu, select the device on the left, Systems icon on the bottom, and then the Network icon.

14 On the Network, enter port 801 in the HTTP Port filed or a port number of your choice. Note that most internet service providers block port 80. Hit Ok and wait 2-3 minutes for the device to reboot.

15 4. Log in your local network router and forward the port 801 (or the port you have used in the previous step) to the camera device IP. Default IP for wired camera device; Default IP for wireless device; NOTICE: Please call your internet service provider for assistance on forwarding ports if you re unable to complete this step. 5.For the next step you will need to know what your External IP Address or domain name is. If you don t know, please visit to find out. Note that you internet service provider will sometimes change this address without notice. 6. From the remote computer, launch a web browser and enter your External IP Address or domain followed by port number 801. Ex: You also can try this locally first by entering in your browser. 7. Login using admin as the Username and leave Password blank.

16 8. Select the camera on the top left of the interface. If the remote computer does not have a QuickTime movie plug-in installed, your browser will prompt you to install it. After installing it, make sure to close and then reopen all browser windows. You should now see the remote video on the screen.

17 V. Advanced network configuration. Some networks may not use the default gateway address, if so the user is required to change the zclock30w s IP addresses to match the gateway on the network. 1. To check what your Default gateway is, press the windows key and R both together on your keyboard witch will bring up the Run dialog. 2. On the Run dialog type cmd in the field then click Ok. This will bring up the windows command prompt. 3. In the command prompt type ipconfig then hit Enter.

18 4.You should see a list of network configuration information, look for an item titled Default Gateway and take note of the first 3 sets of numbers (represented here as , yours will most likely be different) 5. Back in the CMS software, select the device address, and click on EditDevice to bring up EditDevice dialog.

19 6. On the EditDevice dialog, change the IP Address and the Gateway to reflect the Default Gateway number in step 4. Make sure the first 3 sets of numbers in IP Address matches the first 3 sets from Default Gateway address. Leave the last set at.10 or.11. Say if the IP Address in the field shown is and your Default Gateway is First change the IP Address to , and then enter the Gateway address Click modify to update the changes, then repeat the above step for the other device ending with Wait 2 minutes for the firmware in the zclock30w to update, go back to step 7 in section II Setting up the LAN Camera and repeat the IP search process. It should find the 2 addresses with the updated changes. NOTICE: All local IP addresses on this manual refer to X for sake of explanation. Remember to replace all instances of with the first 3 sets of digits from your Default Gateway address.

20 VI. Watching videos remotely from the iphone or ipad 1. Select device , select the CAM01, System and Remote Config In Device Config menu, select the device on the left, Systems icon on the bottom, and then the Network icon

21 3. On the Network menu, take note of Media Port number (most likely by default) and the HTTP Port number (most likely 801). You may enter a number of your choice if you need to. Hit Ok, if any numbers were changed, wait 2-3 minutes for the device to reboot. Hit Ok so save changes, you will get a confirmation prompt; just hit OK again. If any numbers were changed, wait 2-3 minutes for the device to reboot.

22 4. From the Device Config menu, select the device on the left, Systems icon on the bottom, then the NetService icon Under the NetService screen double click on Mobile Monitor

23 6. Ensure the Enable checkbox is checked, then take note of the Port number. Seen here as Make sure this number does not match the Media Port number from step Log in your local network router and forward the ports 801, & (or the ports noted in the previous steps) to the camera device IP. Default IP for wired camera device; Default IP for wireless device; NOTICE: Please call your internet service provider for assistance on forwarding ports if you re unable to complete this step. 8.For the next step you will need to know what your External IP Address or domain name is. If you don t know, please visit to find out. Note that you internet service provider will sometimes change this address without notice. 9. From your iphone, search for, and install the application called vmeye from the app market. Launch the vmeye app, and enter the following settings; Device Name: any name Address: The External IP address from step 8. Port: The Monitor Port from step 6 (34599) User ID: admin Password: leave this blank Channel: any You should now be able to watch live video feed from the zclock30w on your iphone.

24 VII. Video-audio recording into local disk and playback. 1. Select device , select the CAM01, System and Local Config In the Local Config dialog enter the following settings: b a c d

25 a) Length: Represents video segment file length, recommended 15 minutes. Do not enter a number larger then 450, or the file size may exceed your operating system s capability. b) Disk List: Select witch drives you want to record the videos to. Once the drive is full, it will start recording on the next one selected. Recording on the drive C is not recommended unless it s the only option. c) Snapshot: The folder in witch to save video snapshots. It is recommended to use JPG for Snapshot format. d) Local record: The folder in witch to save video files. It is highly recommended to use video compression, so please check mark Save local record as AVI. Hit Apply to save changes. 3. To start the recording, from the main screen, right-mouse click in the video area, a list menu will pop up. Select Local record.

26 4. To capture audio with video, right-mouse click in the video area, on the list menu pop up Select Audio. To stop the recording, simply click on Local record again from the list menu.

27 VIII. Motion Activated recording into Memory card. 1. First disconnect the unit from power, insert the Memory card in the card slot hiding inside the battery compartment underneath the zclock30w. 2. In the CMS software, 1) select device on the left, 2) select the CAM01, 3) select System on the left menu and 4) Remote Config icon

28 3. In Device Config menu, select the device on the left, Record icon on the bottom, and then the Record icon in the screen On the record dialog you can setup the schedule recording options. Under Week day select All to record at any time it detects motion. Changing time ranges under Periods will limit the times during the day when the camera will be actively ready to record under motion activation. Hit OK to save any changes.

29 5. Back on the Device Config dialog; select the device on the left, Alarm icon on the bottom, and then the Video Motion icon.

In the Video Motion dialog ensure the Enable checkbox is checked. a b c a) Sensitivity: You may change the motion detection video Sensitivity to prevent it from recording unnecessarily due to slight changes in lighting or shadows or increasing it to detect unnoticed quick motion. b) Region: This will allow you to draw to the screen witch areas of the viewable image should and should not be sensitive to motion. On the example image, recording will occur only during motion on the outside the window seen within the selected view. c) Delay: The amount of seconds the camera will continue to record since the last time motion was triggered. Hit OK to save any changes. The zclock30w will now record to the memory card once it detects motion.
