1 2010 DATABASE UPDATE INSTALLATION MANUAL 8-CCD WIRELESS ALIGNMENT SYSTEM MODEL: CRT-380R IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE CONTENTS OF THIS MANUAL PRIOR TO INSTAL- LATION AND OPERATION. BY PROCEEDING WITH UPDATE INSTALLATION YOU AGREE THAT YOU FULLY UNDERSTAND AND COMPREHEND THE FULL CONTENTS OF THIS MANUAL. FAILURE TO INSTALL THIS UPDATE AS DIRECT- ED MAY VOID WARRANTY. 2 2010 DATABASE UPDATE INSTALLATION MANUAL READ THIS MANUAL TO FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THESE INSTALLATION STEPS PRIOR TO ATTEMPTING TO UPDATE THE CRT-380R VEHICLE ALIGNMENT DATABASE SOFTWARE. FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO ENSURE A COMPLETE UPDATE OF THE CRT-380R SOFTWARE: 1. Turn on your CRT-380R by pressing the power buttons FIG 1.3 located on both the computer and the monitor. 2. Once the computer has been powered on, the CRT-380R Alignment Software will automatically start. Exit the Alignment Software by pressing ALT+F4. DO NOT select Shut Down or press Esc at this time. (See Fig 1.1) FIG 1.1 FIG Plug in the USB Flash Drive that was supplied for this update to an open USB port on the CRT-380R computer. 4. The Autoplay window should automatically open immediately after the USB Flash Drive is plugged in. Click the Open Folder To View Files icon to open the USB Flash Drive window. (See Fig 1.2) FIG Double-click the file in the USB Flash Drive folder. This will automatically start the Installation Wizard for the 2010 Ranger ProSpec Alignment Software Update. Click Next to continue. (See Fig 1.5) FIG If the Autoplay window does not automatically open, locate the Computer shortcut on the Desktop and doubleclick the icon. A window will open with drive icons. Locate the drive icon for the USB Flash Drive. Double-click the icon for the USB Flash Drive. (See Fig 1.3) 6. The window will now show the contents of the USB Flash Drive. Locate the update file in the window and double-click. (See Fig 1.4) 2

3 8. Enter in your full name and company name in to the fields provided. Click Next to continue. (See Fig 1.6) 11. A progress bar will show you the installation progress. (See Fig 1.9) FIG 1.6 FIG The default destination folder is C:\Program Files\Ranger and should have been pre-selected and is required for this installation. Click Next to continue. (See Fig 1.7) FIG Once finished, the 2010 Database will prompt you to be extracted. The default destination folder for the 2010 database extraction will be C:\. Press Next to continue. (See Fig 1.10) FIG The Installation Wizard is now ready to install the 2010 Ranger ProSpec Alignment Software Update. Click Next to continue. (See Fig 1.8) FIG The 2010 Database will then prompt you to install an executable file. The default destination folder for the 2010 database extraction will be C:\Program Files\Ranger\. Press Next to continue. (See Fig 1.11) FIG

4 14. The software installation is complete. Click Finish to continue the remainder of the installation. (See Fig 1.12) FIG Once the Alignment Management screen is displayed, click the Database Manager icon with the mouse OR press F3 on the keyboard. The software will now prompt you to enter the password to enter the Database Manager area of the software. (See Fig 1.16) FIG Double-click on the Ranger icon on the desktop. (See Fig 1.13) FIG Enter in (five zeroes) into the password field if you have never personalized your aligner s password. If you have customized your password enter the customized password into the field. Click the Save icon with the mouse OR press Page Down on the keyboard. (See Fig 1.17) FIG A prompt will advise you the software is now ready for use. Click OK to dismiss this prompt and double-click on the Ranger icon again to restart the program. (See Fig 1.14) FIG Once the Wheel Alignment Software is loaded, click the Management icon with the mouse OR press F11 on the keyboard. This will open the Alignment Management screen. (See Fig 1.15) 20. Once you have gained access into the Database Manager, select the Update Vehicle Database icon or press F3 on the keyboard. (See Fig 1.18) FIG 1.18 FIG

5 21. Once you have selected Update Vehicle Database, the database will update automatically. (See Fig 1.19) 23. The Alignment Software is now ready to use. (See Fig 1.21) FIG 1.19 FIG Select the Home icon on the bottom right hand corner of the screen to return to the main menu or press the Home on the keyboard.
