3 ATTENTION Although full fan curves from wide open to shut-off are displayed in the Product Selector charts, there is often a maximum combination of back pressure and ambient temperature that is allowable. Please consult the fan datasheet information (example shown below) or verify these limits with ebm-papst Applications Engineering. If necessary, it may be possible to revise one or the other of these limits depending on the combination seen in the actual application. In the specification given below, for example, a maximum application ambient temperature of 50 C might allow the maximum back pressure to be increased above 180Pa.

4 Pull-down tabs File tab allows importing of.sqlite fan data files from the Data folder Functions tab: - see Addendum A for details on exporting the selected operating point data into an Excel file - contact ebm-papst Applications Engineering for details on using our Dynamic Link Library (DLL) modules in your custom software Documents tab allows selection of a complete product datasheet or a chart (Chart protocol) showing the full speed performance curve along with the performance curve throught the selected operating point. Tools tab: - set auto check for new software version on startup - set path to product data collections - set language - set currency units

5 Product Comparison screen The Product Comparison screen allows multiple fans to be compared at a chosen Operating Point (OP) Moving the cursor over column headings in gray (or left click) brings up parameter definitions Single mouse click to Search for fans by type or OP within the selected Product Collection Single mouse click on the checkbox selects the Product Collection of interest Single mouse click on the checkbox adds or deletes fans from the charts Add collection (right mouse button) Delete collection (right mouse button)

6 Product Comparison screen Table in white shows Pe, rpm, η se, qv and Psf at point of maximum overall efficiency Table in gray shows Pe, rpm, η e, η se, I, LwAin, LwAout and SFP at selected OP Chart shows air performance of all selected fans Move the cursor over the cross hairs, hold down the left mouse button & drag the cursor to a new Operating Point Bar chart shows dynamic calculation of acoustic values (LwAin, LwAout) that change with the OP

7 Product Comparison screen Copy screen: Press ctrl-alt-prt scn to copy the complete screen to the clipboard. Product data sheet is available if marked with an x [English (En)] [German (De)] Operating Point (OP) changes with cross hairs on graph Left mouse click in this area expands the graphs Copy Chart: Right click on the performance chart or individual acoustic charts and select copy chart to clipboard to copy only the charts. Zoom: Hold down the left mouse button while diagonally sweeping across the chart in a left-to-right direction to zoom-in. A single right-to-left sweep brings the chart back to its normal setting.

11 Product Information screen The Product Information screen shows key data for a single fan Selected product Move the cursor over the cross hairs, hold down the left mouse button & drag the cursor to a new Operating Point Checkboxes add or delete data to/from graph Calculated values for selected OP Measured air performance at 100% speed Dynamic air performance calculated through selected OP Octave-bands of sound pressure and sound power at suction and pressure sides (LwAs, LwAd, LpAs, LpAd) for selected OP Nominal fan data

15 Addendum A exporting operating point data to an Excel file 1) Select your fan model 2) Set your operating point in the Product Information screen 3) Click on the Functions pull-down tab and select "export operating point F9 " 4) Click on the Operating point export button that appears on the screen 5) Click on the Documents tab and select "Operating Points " to create and/or save the Excel file 6) Additional operating points can be selected from the Product Information screen 7) Press the F9 key to add each new operating point to the export data file, then save the file as in # 5 when done 8) A different fan can be selected from the Product Comparison screen, then set the operating points as in # 6 & # 7 9) Click on "Delete operating point " at the bottom of the export screen to delete a single selected duty point 10) Click on Drop export at the bottom of the screen to completely get out of export mode

16 Addendum A exporting operating point data to an Excel file The file exported from the Product Selector has a.csv file format (comma separated values), where each text field is separated only by semicolons. To get the data into the typical Microsoft Office Excel column format, proceed as follows: For Excel 2003: open a blank Excel sheet click on the "Data" tab select "import external data" select "import data" and browse to the.csv file double click on the file to start the Text Import Wizard select the Delimited" file types in the 1st screen of the Text Import Wizard select the Semicolon" delimiter in the 2nd screen of the Text Import Wizard select General for the column data format in the 3rd screen of the Text Import Wizard select Finish in the 3rd screen of the Text Import Wizard
